AutoCAD Inventor :: 2013 Pro - Render With Image Sphere
Dec 3, 2013
I'm looking to use Inventor Studio to render a model, using an image sphere (e.g. Stuttgart Courtyard) as the background.
I cannot find the installed location for these images, so even if it is the active view, Inventor will not allow me to render it, and I cannot manually select the file as my image sphere.
Also, are additional such image spheres available for download?
Currently when ever I render an image using Inventor 2013 the reflection shows a parking lot. It doesnt seem like it matters what type of material I choose or the color that I choose. I have found some older fixes that date back to 2008 but nothing for 2013.This link is the only thing that I can find and as I said it is for 2008.

We went in to the registry and tried following the steps but some of the working is different and didnt want to mess things up.
I cannot find any way to switch off the auto-hide for the Render Image menu in Inventor Studio 2013. I know how to do it for other menus, and Bobvdd posted a registry hack a couple years ago for 2011. I cannot find anything for this dialog, and I would really like it to stop.

I have a sphere which I'm able to project on a sketch of smaller circles which I'd like to engrave over it's surface, yet I want each of them to be perpendicular to the surface of the sphere in each point. Emboss doesn't do the trick, it just makes the engraving perpendicular to the plane.
I believe I found this in CS2, but now I can not find it in CS3. Wasn't there a sphere tool that allowed you to wrap a bitmap image on a spherical or cylindrical curve, like a soda can or sports helmet?
Any step by step procedure, to create semi-sphere in Inventor or how to draw semi-sphere ?I am unable get this semi-sphere, using all the "extrude", split" options.
I've been attempting to create a sphere with an Earth texture, for which I've made a custom appearance with a flattened picture of earth. Instead of wrapping to the sphere, however, the image is mirrored on both sides of the sphere and extremely distorted. I knew wrapping 2D geometry to a sphere was not strictly possible, but is there no way to pull it off with an image?
If not, would something like this be possible in 3DS max?
I have a sphere body whose material is partly removed by a boolen subtraction with another sphere. When I query the EdgeLoop of sphere for Outer edge loop using function InvEdgeLoopPtr::GetIsOuterEdgeLoop(), I always get a value of VARIANT_TRUE. check for the inner and outer loop of a sphere? use the attached file for reference.
I have a funnel with a curved top. I'm trying to project an inset of the border onto the curved surface and use the shell command to create a hollow funnel with an overhanging lip. I have projected the inset successfully, but cannot select the resulting smaller face, just the whole original face.
A similar problem that I tried while attempting to figure this out was shelling a sphere. 2d sketch -> 3d sketch project onto surface, and try applying shell to the resulting "face". However I can only select the whole face when trying to shell.
I am trying to create a spheric container with a irregular pattern of different triangle as show in the example attached.
What would be the best way to creat this part? i was thinking of creating each triangle in a different .ipt and after assemble them all toghter. But this will take ages and a lot of ipt.
I need a path on a sphere like on the image I attached (sphere_spiral) for the result similar to image called "gomb". The only problem, metric spiral or coil / 3d helical curve path won't work because it doesn't end the result I need, because the lines are converging each other. So, I figured out I need a logarithmic spiral 2D sketch or maybe a sinusoidal path.
I need a path from the sphere's top center point to the bottom center point, projected to its surface with equal distance of lines.
I heard that AutoCAD use Mental Ray render. How many maximum parallel threads can use this algorithm? I want buy new graphic station based on dual-socket Intel Xeon (each CPU has 6 cores with Hyper Threading technology). Thereby a computer will be equipped with 24 logical CPUs.
Can AutoCAD 2012 fully utilize such a performance for parallel computing when render?
I am working on a 3D model using 3D solids and 3D blocks, then I make a render of a view and works fine, but if I make a zoom in to a zone and render it then the 3D blocks disappear showing only the floor (a 3D solid) and sometimes the render is just plain black, after a zoom out everything works fine. I made an Audit, exploded the blocks, even when making a crop render. Attached images explain better.
I need a render with good Quality, so i define the " standard render" on "presentation", and "render quality" on "5", and image size on 2500*2500, BUT the image Weight gets so low, like 500KB..
I am trying to use AutoCAD to render some small parts. I am used to using Inventor Studio, but AutoCad's rendering tools have taken some getting used. to. I have everything figured out, with the exception of the ground plane for shadows and/or reflections.
I originally wanted a ground plane for a shadow to be projected on. However, I had no luck with that, so I modeled a large box under the part. Using that, I am able to get a shadow, or reflection, BUT, the edges of the box are showing in the background. The easy fix is to make the box larger, however, I need the reflective surface and background to be white so that it can be printed on paper without seeing the rendered edges.
How can I set a ground plane, or model a plane, for shadows or reflections, AND made it true white so that the edges cannot be seen?
Is it the case that background image will be forced off when Sky Background and Illumination is turn on? I remember it should be possible as I did it before, but I am having this problem now.
I'm creating 3D architectural models; primarily interior views. I use the ANIPATH command quite frequently and I'm good there.
However, I have not been able to render a still camera view that shows the lighting and resultant shadows. Whenever I attempt to render a still from a particular camera; I set it to realistic. It shows the 3D objects with materials; however not the lighting.
I've been using ACAD for about 15 years now, and consider my skill level upper-intermediate.
So far, the only successful still renderings I've been able to do are those directly associated with the typical ortho views: i.e., NE, NW, SE, SW, front, back, etc. But no avail on rendering from the camera point of view.
I have a problem i want render a image in axonometric projection specially in "dimetric trimetric".i I find this [URL]...... but has only axonometric isometric.
I mean what angle(x,y,z) i must put on the camera setting.
I'm running into problems with Civil 3D 2010 trying to render a TIN suface with a draped JPEG.
I've inserted a JPEG aerial photo (supplied by municipal GIS services) and applied it as a drape to the TIN surface terrain model. When I go to the 3D Modeling workspace and try to render the scene, the following error message is displayed:
"This scene cannot be rendered. The scene must contain at least one 3D wireframe or solid model object to render."
The DWG co-ordinate system is UTM83-17. Sometimes these issues can be caused by objects being too far from the origin, and I've tried moving everything to 0,0,0 all to no avail. The surface style confirms triangles as being displayed in Model view, so I really don't know what the problem is here.
I'm trying to render some passes in Maya 2013 and Mental Ray using proxy assemblies. The trouble is that none of the passes that do some kind of material definition override ie AO, camera depth work correctly with proxies. I have read a few posts where people have said that these passes need to be applied in the render globals when exporting the proxy file. This method works correctly in Maya 2009 and fixes the issues, unfortuently this method does not work in Maya 2013.
I have been using Max 2012 with Backburner 2013 without a problem for the last 8 months. I have just finished a project so I thought I would test the same project that works fine on 2012 on 2013.
On the render server everything works fine. On all the render nodes I get the following error
Application Load error 3ds max adapter error 3ds max process no response
3ds max 2013 is installed on all the render nodes.
I'm really getting tired of problems going from 1 version to the next. how much time goes into testing new versions each year. I would gladly have less upgrades but upgrades that work
For no apparent reason the Render Button at the bottom of the view frame has disappeared. With RayTrace I just get a black screen. It was all working fine then suddenly the problem occurred.
There doesn't seem to be anything wrong with the PC - I can render in MAX Design as normal.
I have created a 3d model of a football stadium, but when I try to render it, it comes up with this message and it cannot render the scene. I've tried everything I can to fix it, but nothing has worked.
