AutoCAD Inventor :: 2014 Preset To Centerpoint Command
Aug 20, 2013For some reason when I start up Inventor 2014 it is preset to the centerpoint command. How do I change this to where it will not automatically do this?

Seems like it could be very useful, and I must say i like the IDEA of it (to those not familiar, you hold CTRL and hit arrow keys to slightly shift an object) but how to set the distance default on it. It seems to me to just move things by whatever distance it feels like.For my job specifically, I need 1/2" increments. how to set that variable?

If I don't know the offset as its on say louvre blade block by others I just want to snap to 2 points to set the distance. How is this done with the new array command?

In 2013 (with out selecting trim all) the trim line didn't have to intersect the line you wanted to trim. We just upgraded to 2014 and I noticed that if I want to trim a line that the lines have to intersect. A line that doesn't intersect with the selected trim line will not trim.

May 22, 2013I run fbxexport from the file pulldown, and it does not ask me to select objects, and says none of the objects in the drawing can be exported.
I type the command and it works fine.This was mentioned in past posts on 2012.
I am thinking it has something to do the the bug where 2014 could not export shape files, so you had to get a new providers.xml.
My IMX-Export command is also acting funny where it does not ask a filename to export, it uses the current dwg name.

This happens on our AutoCad 2014 LT installations too.
I have all the predictive/corrective command line features turned off.
I have also uninstalled 360 and online content services, prior to the problem, to no avail.
Our office internet is proxied, and there are no ports opened for any Autodesk products.
It's losing us valuable seconds / minutes / days / weeks / months, depending on how you look at it.

However on those rows where there are multiples of the Item QTY (2 of this, 3 of that) the Mass shows just the weight of one item rather than the combined weight...which is what I want. I tried making a custom property call WEIGHT and entering an expression, but in that selection I do have mass but not Item QTY as a selection.

May 29, 2013I am having issues getting my .dwg files to check back in to Vault Basic. I can get all different types of files (.iam .ipt .idw) to check in without issues, but .dwg files hang and Inventor will eventually lock up.
I've tried disabling Visualization and I still cannot make it past this point. I can even tell it to check in everything at once, and it will breeze through the other files but any .dwgs will hang.
My PC Config:
Windows 7 Professional 64-bit
Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-2600 CPU @ 3.40GHz
16 GB RAM
Dual AMD Radeon HD 6450

Jul 30, 2013I sometimes am having some graphics problems. I placed a gantry into an assembly and it leaves a 'ghost' image behind. When I go under options and change from say 'smoother' to 'smooth' the problem goes away. Any way to avoid this totally?
My specs: Inventor Professional 2014, 64 bit edition, I've got an HP Z400 desktop which is a 3.2GHz Processor with 4 cores, 12 GB RAM. NVIDIA Quadro 4000 graphics card.
I never had this problem with 2012, nor 2013, same computer, same settings which I always import.

Aug 9, 2013My production team uses the Inventor View to view drawings once they are released from engineering. Sometimes they get printed so they can send a copy to our vendors. When ever they print from Inventor View 2014 the lines that are on the Visible Layer do not print. Also the lines in the titeblock are not very dark even though the "print all colors black" has been checked. It does not matter which printer or computer is used.

Jun 22, 2013Inventor 2014 LT / have run into a problem in a throw-away project I"m working on.
A simple example is to create a piece of 3x5x.125 flat bar, add a sketch giving you a bend line and bend the end of it. Now try to mirror the whole thing giving you a 3x10x.125 flat bar bent on both ends.
FWIW: My project isn't this simple - I know I can just make the FB and bend both ends ... this is an example of mirroring a bend not working.
