AutoCAD Inventor :: Custom Content Centre Library Appears Empty?
Jul 25, 2010I typically use basic ISO fastners in conjunction with the bolted connection generator. Just now I have discovered the ability to add a custom library to the content centre. This appears fantastic as I no longer have to sift through the 10 - 30 or so items available in each category to complete my bolted connection.
However I am experiencing a delima
I have created a custom library called "My Favourites" and it contains 6 bolt families, 1 spring & flat washer family and 1 nut family. All families are derived from the ISO standard (bar the spring washer which is DIN 128) and all thread pitches for the respective nut and bolt connection(s) match.
The problem I am experiencing is when I execute the bolted connection command I can add the bolt, 2 flats and 1 spring washer yet when I come to close the connection with a nut the nut selection box is empty?
I have the active project configured with "My Favourites" "Inventor Feature" & "Inventor Routed Systems" as the only in use libraries. Secondly, I have verified the existance of the nut(s) in "My Favourites" in the Content Centre Editor.
I am using Inventor 2010 updated to SP3 on a standalone machine, running Windows 7 Ultimate (w/ latest updates)
AutoCAD Inventor :: Project Library Folders - 2014
Apr 22, 2013I don't normally use libraries. I'm just not a big fan of them, so if I'm wrong here about a basic concept it's no surprise. My understanding was that if you add a folder location to a project under the library heading (see image) then everything in it automatically becomes read-only when that project is active.
My intention was to test some of 2014's functionality on products that I have drawn in 2013 without mucking up my other designers who I'm not ready to upgrade, yet. So, I copied some assemblies over to a new folder on my network completely outside of the root folder of the normal working directories. I then assigned that working directory as a library in the new project file I created in 2014 specifically for testing it. I expected this to allow me to open my files without a bunch of unresolved reference problems and not have to worry about accidentally migrating files that I'm not ready to migrate.
So, why did I still manage to migrate a bunch of file that are located in the working directory that's supposed to be write protected?! Now I have actual product files that can't be opened in 2013. Luckily, I can restore these from a back-up, but what did I miss here? Did I not check a certain box somewhere or am I missing the whole concept? I really doubt this critical function of Inventor is somehow bugged in 2014.

Oct 11, 2013In Inventor 2014, is it possible to export a list of all of the materials in a given material library..? As text, or into Excel, or something similar?
I have a material library in Inventor 2014 containing lots of custom defined materials. I would like to create a master list that I can give to someone who isn't using Inventor. The only property that I really need to export is the material name, e.g.' CSA G40.21-44W'.
In this case, engineering is trying to coordinate better with purchasing, by making sure that materials are specified in the same way in both departments.

Jun 19, 2013When selecting a material from the dropdown list the material isn’t downloaded correctly.
I had just edited the appearance for that material, pointed it to a new bitmap, then added the appearance & material to the library. Then purged it all from the document.
Restarting Inventor results in the material being downloaded from the library correctly.

AutoCAD Inventor :: Migrating Custom CC Library From 2013 To 2014
May 28, 2013I have upgraded to Inventor 2014 and I'm having trouble transferring my custom content center library (local machine, no server). My understanding was that I copy the .idcl and .idz files from the old folder to the 2014 folder, open the projects dialog box, configure content center libraries button, and use the update tool button.
However, in the configure libraries dialog box my custom library doesn't even show up in the list along with my ANSI, ISO, "My Library", etc. Restarting Inventor didn't work.

I always close the first drawing and begin a new one by choosing out of several templates or start with an existing drawing, rename and modify it. For NEW or OPEN i like to use the welcome screen.

AutoCAD Inventor :: Content Center Is Empty
Jun 24, 2013Installed 2014 recently, and now my Content Center has nothing in it. The "Place from Content Center" window loads, and there are no folders. My item count is 0. I've attached a screen shot for reference. Clicking the refresh button does nothing.
We have no custum hardware/materials/etc.
If I try to update the content center library (step 2), the Configure Libraries is full of "Not Available"s. Again, I've attached a screen shot. I'm nervous to continue migrating with out all that info.
There are two pc's with IV, and the content center is working fine on the other pc. The CC is a local thing, and only my computer seems to be upset.

Apr 18, 2013We have upgraded from Inventor 2012 to 2013 in August and my company never uses the Content Center, but I need it now and when I opened it up, the center is empty. I need bolt and washers and its empty. I tried linking the libraries folder to the Content Center link but nothing.

AutoCAD Inventor :: Bolted Connections Box Empty
Aug 14, 2013When i try to make a bolted connection my "click to add fastener > standard/category" box is empty. my hole, which used hole command, is 11/16" and the bolt only needs to be roughly 2" long so im not demanding odd fasteners.

AutoCAD Inventor :: How To Get Empty Window In Text Dialog Box
Jun 20, 2013I made a prompted entry, for example, in a sketched symbol,again, for example.
Now i edit the text and want to write a static text, not a prompted entry and none from that list, but i cannot get the empty, white, window, like in the picture, and like when i start a new text.
I am forced to choose only from the list.

May 24, 2011i know it now. deployment does not install content center files on a local machine. it takes a half hour to unpack the downloaded raw files, it takes an hour to create a setup routine, then it takes another hour to run the setup. is that the procedure on each local machine to add the content center files local?

AutoCAD Inventor :: Content Center Favorites Pane Is Empty
Sep 17, 2012I would like to insert a wideflange steel profile into my .ipt drawing.
I thought I would use Content Center for this. However on the left model tree pane I select the 'Model' drop down menu and select 'Favorites'. 'Content Center' is listed but there are no content center components shown?
Am I using this feature correctly?
I believe my content center is installed correctly because I can 'Place from Content Center' in a new .iam file within the same project.
Illustrator :: Differentiate Empty And Non-empty Pixels
Oct 31, 2013I'm a web developer currently slicing an illustrator file for web graphics. Some of the icons and images have shadows, lights, etc, and it's impossible to simply see by a naked eye which pixels contains some shade or nearly transparent color and which doesn't.
It would be extremely useful if I could somehow easily differentiate between empty and non-empty pixels, so I wouldn't miss any when slicing.

I've derived each into parts that have a few different features.
In both cases, step exports of the base solid are fine but exports of the unique parts are empty.
Step exports of their assemblies are complete except for these parts.
Sat exports work fine for both parts and assemblies.

However on those rows where there are multiples of the Item QTY (2 of this, 3 of that) the Mass shows just the weight of one item rather than the combined weight...which is what I want. I tried making a custom property call WEIGHT and entering an expression, but in that selection I do have mass but not Item QTY as a selection.

The idw contains its own template, views, dimensions, details and cuts.
Upon opening in 2014 to release details of the scale is changed randomly and the views are out of the leaf.
