I have a layer that contains no objects at all but which I cannot delete. I have tried LAYDEL, QSELETE and other commands which I found by reading other posts with similar problems. Unfortunately nothing appears to be working at all. I am using AutoCAD 2008.
The below gets the block names of empty block records. The blocks may or may not be actually inserted in the dwg. In my case though, apparently they are nested in other blocks in the drawing I am working with... but it looks as if they are part of deeply nested block definitions and therefore cannot be purged. I checked a couple blocks (the code returns over 1000 in my case) it returns and there are no objects in its definition.
How can I force them out of a drawing - and hopefully reduce it's file size?
We have our pipe networks set up in our template. But in actual use, we don't use them in every project. Even in a project where we're using them, they will be d-ref'd around, so I don't need the actual network set up in each drawing.
I was deleting my unused, empty pipe networks from a drawing (to reduce file size and to avoid getting the "8 Objects not selected" dialogue when using quick select.)
I deleted 3 or 4 networks, then on the next one I got this message:
C3D was apparantly not content with merely informing me once of this interesting fact. No, the message was obviously considered so important that it had to be repeated. Many many times, for emphasis. So many times, that after I'd keept my finger on the Escape key for a minute or two, the program still felt that I needed to see this important dialogue box.
Somehow I ended up with three catalogs in LR 4 -- Catalog.lrcat, Catalog-2.lrcat and Catalog-3.lrcat. My original catalog in LR3 was Catalog.lrcat. When I upgraded to LR4, Catalog-2.lrcat was created, and this is the catalog that I use. I'm not sure how Catalog-3 was created, but all of the images are grayed out and have question marks on them.
I would like to free up some space on my hard drive by getting rid of -- deleting -- Catalog (104MB) and Catalog-3 (103MB). Is this not recommended? And exactly how do I go about deleting a catalog?
Can't believe it makes one iota of difference but am using WIN7.Is there any reason not to delete old folders in Lightroom and PS when I upgrade or install later versions.
Example: I have 5 folders of updates (plus 4.2) in my Adobe folder for Lightroom starting with 3.4 up thru 4.1.Can I just delete everything except 4.2? I have PS CS6. Can I delete the CS5 folder?
I have approximately 500 photographs in folders and collections. Want to delete them and start over. What is the best way to go back to Lightroom 5 cc as it was when initially downloaded?
I'm wondering if it's possible to delete the develop preset folders that come pre-installed with LR 4. I don't see them in the Develop Presets folder in Application Support/Adobe, and right-clicking on the folders themselves in LR doesn't provide the option to delete.
I have several duplicates of photos that I somehow created. I need to delete lots of duplicates. I see how to do it one folder at a time. However I have hundereds ! There must be a way to select more than one folder at a time for deletion. How or if it can (or cannot) be done ?
how I ended up with a shared network drive duplicated under the folders area of Lightroom 3.6. Maybe it was a user error but now my network drive where I have 15,000 pictures appears twice in the folder area and it is constantly updating (since there are quite a few pictures).
How can I delete the duplicated drive? I have "removed" all the folders under the duplicated drive (and made it disappear) but the drive keeps coming back as the synchronization process will add all the folders that exist on that drive.
The two drives with "Volume_1" in the name are actually one shared network drive (I only have one). I actually removed my network drive mapping (N:) to fix the problem but that did not even work; LR still found a duplicate name for the same network drive and started to synchronize (again).
Instead of "removing" a folder with thousands of photos I went in to Windows Explorer deleted the catalog, the locked file and a few other folders. However, when I try to delete the folder with all the thousands of previews folders in it I get a message telling me that I can't delete them because they are being used by another program. I don't have Lightroom open when I try to do this so my question is: how can I simply delete those folders from my hard drive?
Do I have to un-install Lightroom to do this? Hopefully not.
Installed 2014 recently, and now my Content Center has nothing in it. The "Place from Content Center" window loads, and there are no folders. My item count is 0. I've attached a screen shot for reference. Clicking the refresh button does nothing.
We have no custum hardware/materials/etc.
If I try to update the content center library (step 2), the Configure Libraries is full of "Not Available"s. Again, I've attached a screen shot. I'm nervous to continue migrating with out all that info.
There are two pc's with IV, and the content center is working fine on the other pc. The CC is a local thing, and only my computer seems to be upset.
We have upgraded from Inventor 2012 to 2013 in August and my company never uses the Content Center, but I need it now and when I opened it up, the center is empty. I need bolt and washers and its empty. I tried linking the libraries folder to the Content Center link but nothing.
When i try to make a bolted connection my "click to add fastener > standard/category" box is empty. my hole, which used hole command, is 11/16" and the bolt only needs to be roughly 2" long so im not demanding odd fasteners.

I made a prompted entry, for example, in a sketched symbol, again, for example.
Now i edit the text and want to write a static text, not a prompted entry and none from that list, but i cannot get the empty, white, window, like in the picture, and like when i start a new text.
i know it now. deployment does not install content center files on a local machine. it takes a half hour to unpack the downloaded raw files, it takes an hour to create a setup routine, then it takes another hour to run the setup. is that the procedure on each local machine to add the content center files local?
I have 2011 and 2012 inv but for some reason my content center in 2011 is empty and when I check everything is in red and not available,it was fine and 2012 is fine, when I check its giving me a location and it ends in 2011 not 2012,I'd tried repair and reinstall.
I could add an empty text value within an multi value list in inventor 2010, but I don't think i can do the same thing in 2013, is there a possible way to do it?
Btw, when by an empty text value I dont mean a space.
Is there a way to measure the volume/empty space within an assembly? Example: I have a tank with a transformer assembly inside of it, need to know how much oil is required to fill the unit.
I would like to insert a wideflange steel profile into my .ipt drawing.
I thought I would use Content Center for this. However on the left model tree pane I select the 'Model' drop down menu and select 'Favorites'. 'Content Center' is listed but there are no content center components shown?
Am I using this feature correctly?
I believe my content center is installed correctly because I can 'Place from Content Center' in a new .iam file within the same project.
I'm a web developer currently slicing an illustrator file for web graphics. Some of the icons and images have shadows, lights, etc, and it's impossible to simply see by a naked eye which pixels contains some shade or nearly transparent color and which doesn't.
It would be extremely useful if I could somehow easily differentiate between empty and non-empty pixels, so I wouldn't miss any when slicing.
I typically use basic ISO fastners in conjunction with the bolted connection generator. Just now I have discovered the ability to add a custom library to the content centre. This appears fantastic as I no longer have to sift through the 10 - 30 or so items available in each category to complete my bolted connection.
However I am experiencing a delima
I have created a custom library called "My Favourites" and it contains 6 bolt families, 1 spring & flat washer family and 1 nut family. All families are derived from the ISO standard (bar the spring washer which is DIN 128) and all thread pitches for the respective nut and bolt connection(s) match.
The problem I am experiencing is when I execute the bolted connection command I can add the bolt, 2 flats and 1 spring washer yet when I come to close the connection with a nut the nut selection box is empty?
I have the active project configured with "My Favourites" "Inventor Feature" & "Inventor Routed Systems" as the only in use libraries. Secondly, I have verified the existance of the nut(s) in "My Favourites" in the Content Centre Editor.
I am using Inventor 2010 updated to SP3 on a standalone machine, running Windows 7 Ultimate (w/ latest updates)
