this Nudge command. Seems like it could be very useful, and I must say i like the IDEA of it (to those not familiar, you hold CTRL and hit arrow keys to slightly shift an object) but how to set the distance default on it. It seems to me to just move things by whatever distance it feels like.For my job specifically, I need 1/2" increments. how to set that variable?

View 1 Replies View Relatedhow to edit the line space distance for the dimension text. I can change the style, size and several other features. But the line space distance is the one thing I can't seem to edit. The only solution I know of and use is exploding the dimension and then the text turns to mtext and the option becomes available. But then if the section changes to a shorter/longer area, i have to go through several steps with the exploded lines. how to edit the line space distance for the annotation in the dimensions. i have also attached a pic of my issue as well.

I am trying to oTrack distance from the top circle edge of a cylinder to a certain distance ... whenever i try to do that ... it either track to x and y .. but not in z :/ ... the video i have on you tube he did it so simply and it seems to be easy .
I am not sure what is wrong .. but i heard parallel and perspective view could make a difference .. i actually try both :/ ...

View 3 Replies View Relatedi have been using the DI command to get line lengths (of road widths, that sort of thing), and in the command line, it just gives the X, Y and Z distances, and not the actual length of the line.
how to change the displayed information so that the length of the line drawn with DI shows in the command line?
Also is there an option to choose what is displayed in the command line with DI command?
For some reason when I start up Inventor 2014 it is preset to the centerpoint command. How do I change this to where it will not automatically do this?

I noticed today using Full CAD 2010 that when i measured a distance (Say 2m) using a "Y" point filter, between two objects not directly below one another the answer i got was wrong. It seemed to give me the distance of where my crosshairs where at the time of finishing the command.
I have tried this on another full system of CAD 2010 and a light version. Problem occurs on all.
I know that if you just measure between the points CAD will give you the (-Y) answer in the command line, but using point filters is an old habbit hard to kick.
if its possible to have a command which does a multiple distance? at the moment im drawing a polyline, doing a list on it then deleting it, which is a bit mudane now.
View 9 Replies View Relatedm in the middle of a little project and want to know if its possible to save the info that the _MEASUREGEOM command displays when applied to measure distance or angle to the project.
I used to use a lisp script to do this but that was on my PC. Im not running autocad on my mac and it wont alow me to run the script. it loads it but then gives the error
error: vl-load-com not supported on "Mac OS X Version 10.8 (x86_64)"
when i try and apply the command. Does MEASUREGEOM have a built in feature to save these details to the project i.e. next to the line or shape measured?
when doing the "distance" command, typically as you go from point to point, the distance will be listed on the page next to my cursor as I go. Then if you left click, right click, it will list the final distance down in the command window. The machine in question no longer displays the distance on the page as you go. This is a very useful feature for us, and although we can distance things, using the text readout in the command window takes much longer.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have recently had my 2007 upgraded to 2010 and I'm finding it annoying that everytime I use the distance command the DYN button turns on and I get too much information on the screen as well as a little box I have to exit everytime. How to keep the DYN button switched off? I'm just happy to have the distance information in the command bar at the bottom.

I saw another post about the rubber band being black against the black background, but that is not the problem.
When I turn Otrack on I get the rubber band, but I don't like Otrack on because it causes other problems. How to get the rubber band to work the way it did before?
I want to add the Measure (Distance) command to my quick access toolbar. When I right click on the Measure button the "Add to quick access toolbar" is grayed out in 2013.
Also why can't they make it so when I add something to the quick access toolbar stays added to all file types. I have to add it to .ipt, .iam, .dwg...
BTW Not real impressed with 2013 so far.

In Lightroom, right clicking on a picture, chose "Edit In", one of the choices is "Untitled Preset". If I choose that it opens a box to "Edit Photo with PhotoshopElementsEditor.exe"
I no longer have Photoshop Elements installed, how do I eliminate this choice?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI press CTRL+9 to make the Command Line disappear while drawing. When I plot (or when doing a plot preview) , the Command Line appears again by itself. So I always have to turn the Command Line off manually after each plot
The bug still happens;
- if Dynamic Input is turned off or on
- if I plot to a real device or in PDF
- if the Cammand Line Palette i docked or floating.
This is not an issue in AutoCAD 2012 so I guess it has to do with the new way they programmed the revamped Command Line palette in 2013.

I am trying to find a routine that will allow me to offset an arc by a distance and to a scale.
The offest command is very limited as to how far I am able to offset without the boject completely vanishing.
I am trying to make a flat pattern from a cone or something close to it. The routines and programs that I have found do not quite accomplish this very accuratll. They are always off on the upper and lower arcs and on the distance between the arcs. Tho this would not completely sovle my problem, it would allow me to get the distance between the top and bottom correct.
I see that there is an Inquiry tool for minimum distance between two lines but I can't find anything about the maximum distance.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have located steel beams of an existing building roof frame. I am being asked to provide a distance from the theoretical roof to these points. The roof is sloped and I can create the sloped roof plane but I am unsure how to get the distance from the point to perpendicular to the theoretical roof slope, not the difference in elevation. Also would it be possible to label or make a table?

I used direct-distance entry to place the dimensions 3/8 away from the object lines... needless to say, while most horizontal dimensions are 3/8 away, the vertical and inclined dimensions are not. see attached. other than creating construction geometry and physically moving the endpoints of the arrows to the correct location, is there any way of getting this precise and correct the first time i do it?

is it possible to link a preset text size to a layer? eg. when i click some text and put it on a specific layer i want it have a certain text size and not the rotation. so its sort of a match properties thing.
I keep trying to draw a line by bearing and distance using the format @50.00'<N80d04'30''E. Everything enters but when I enter the last command of the bearing and hit enter it stays in the red boxed outline and does nothing. Upgraded to 2014 and trying to get things set for drawing property boundaries. Tried setting the units to surveyors mode and such but nothing works.
