I have attached a picture of my issue. I have a section view with pipes drawn in them. However, for some reason I am getting lines from different networks that aren't crossing my sample line. The purple pipe is a storm pipe and the green is the sewer. The blue lines you see are water lines, but shouldn't be on this section view.

View 5 Replies View RelatedC3D 2009. I have a style that labels the pipe diameter in section view and the type of pipe. When I label the pipe everything shows up fine. Save the drawing and re-open and my labels are gone. I can see them when is opening but after it regenerates, gone. All layers are on display set to true. Tried too many different things and no success. This issue only happens in two drawings.

Unfortunately, in a number of section views pipes are not shown in full height because the section view level range is too little. View 1 Replies View RelatedI am having an issue when producing a section view with my corridor. I have a corridor and corridor surface, as well as an existing ground surface. I create a sample line group and sample EG, Corridor Surface, and Material. When I produce a section view I get 4 sections in the view: EG, Corridor Surface(with the corridor surface naming convention), and an additional section simply called "Corridor Surface".
This last section is strange in that it seems to be using the correct assembly, but not targeting the correct features. Also it has grips at all of the vertices which I havent seen before.
And the strangest part, when I click on properties for this section and go to section data, the columns for Description and Data Source are blank.
If there is no data source, then where is this section coming from, and why is it showing up when I did not specify that it be created. This is a real mind boggler to me and makes no sense. Screenshot attached.
My future ground somehow disappeared out of one section view in my group. Under the section tabs I still have my existing ground and pipenetwork but the future ground isn't there. It remains in the other section views. How do I add it back?

1. I had trouble with profile view of the alignment line shown. What step am i missing? Are there things that is turned off?
2. How can I best come up with the right volume to fill.
3. Do I need to learn the grading tools? or could i get buy with a section profile from the alignment. ( it is not even an alignment yet)
4. How to I render a rock fill in this cave-in.
The attached aerial image , has survey or cogo points that are imported to surface, to become surface points. . So I wanted to create a surface profile below and an outline of fill above it. Iideally the side profile would look like a trapezoid, where the base is the surface proile and top would be the design embankment.
But the reason , a surveying crew went down and took shots at the shoreline and a couple shots around the cave-in walls (higher elevation on the cave-in wall cannot be surveyed, although I coud have used a laser , did not) is so that a more accurate volume of the cave in can be obtained. I tried to label how far the road edge is from edge of the cave-in . Norice the higher elevations are the top edge around the cave in area.
The ouline for the embankment will be a mild slope then breaks to a more steep slope. like 4 :1 , then 1.5:1

In 2012 can you close and open a drawing and have the labels not disappear?

There seems to be slight difference between the pipes in the profile/sections compared with the Structure pipe crossing.
All styles are set for External walls, when swapped to internal this is still incorrect. All pipes are same size & part and are Horizontal. Sections / alignment is taken along centre of pipework.
I have these two pipes, one is 4" diameter (running horizontally) and the other is 6" diameter running at a 30degree from horizontal angle. eventually the two hit, and at that intersection I need to make the 4" pipe join to the 6"' pipe, which then continues on its merry way farther down the structure. So I can extrude the two pipes, and I can even make a union and then remove the excess of the 6" pipe, because what I am really looking for is: a cutting diagram for the joint where the remaining 4" pipe hits the 6" section. A cutting diagram for the short piece of a Y joint.
I can make this image appear on my screen, but I am then stumped as to how to unwrap the pipe into a flat section so that I can see the curvature of the cuts required in planar view, for the real pipe that I have on my shop floor.
I need creating a view up a storm pipe. We had the inside of a large diameter pipe scanned. Now I need to be able to create a view looking directly up the pipe. Is there a way to set the view so that the what I am seeing is the view from the center of the downstream end of the pipe looking to the center of the upstream end of the pipe?

View 6 Replies View RelatedAs it stands, if you view a pipe network in a profile view with no vertical exaggeration, you expect to see what is essentially an accurate long section in all directions. However, rather than being applied perpendicularly from the center line (or arguably the invert), diameter is applied strictly vertically.
Now, this made sense in the days of hand drafting when it was far easier in a vertically exaggerated profile view to simply measure the dimension vertically rather than determining how the exaggeration affects the perpendicular distance. But with the computer doing the measurements, is this really a problem anymore? I've debated that to some degree it's strange to consider that the crown of the pipe may be at a (slightly) different station than the invert, but this is simply fact in the field. And I've also thought that it's nice to be able simply measure vertically in an exaggerated profile, but I can't remember the last time I dug my scale out of the drawer.
All the theory aside, the real problem appears when you try to profile a vertical, or even a near-vertical, pipe. The fact that the diameter is applied vertically means that the vertical centerline is shifted the length of the pipe radius downward and upward. In other words, rather than seeing the invert and crown of the pipe, you just see one line, though it's really two lines on top of each other.
I wrote this off for the last 4 years of basic Pipe Networks because I acknowledge that storm/sanitary outside the building is rarely designed vertically, but with 2013's release of the Pressure Pipe Network, I really expected Autodesk to change the way the profile views represented pipes.
Need getting pipe top elevation in profile view data band? In labels it's possible to perform calculations via expressions. In data bands – not. Inablity to get pipe outside top elevation in profile view leads to dead end in my hunt for smooth workflow.

I can show the profile of the pipes and structures that run with the alignment but I want to she the elevations of the crossing pipes, not just the circle in the structures where they cross but the elevation of the crossing structures and pipes, (str 102-103 and 104-105). Almost like a profile that is cut and looks north (up) instead of the cut looking east west.Can I turn my profile view or take a view at a certain station or do I need to make alignments that run east west to do this? I have included a pedicure for reference.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI created a pressure pipe with no bends since my alignment is fairly straight. However, I'm changing the elevations on the pipe using a combincation of the profile view snaps and elevation edits in the properties and it doesn't restrict my deflection to my deflection settings not does it add any bends.
Is this still a missing function in Pressure Networks? Or is there something I'm missing?
I cannot find a way to only have pipes in profile view to only show the invert (bottom) of the pipe. All my pipes are running around the same elevation and the profile is pretty busy with both invert and crown of pipe shown.
View 2 Replies View RelatedEvery structure for my Sanitary pipe network is showing up properly in the profile view except the last 2. They're showing as rectangles when they should have the cone on top. I've checked the properties of the correct ones and the incorrect ones and they're the same style. I looked at the parts and I couldn't see anything wrong with them. In the screenshot you can see that the 3 manholes on the left are the correct kind with the cone whereas the 2 on the right are just rectangles.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI've been having a problem with a pipe structure not showing up in a profile view. I have a single pipe network with everything (pipes and other structures) showing up in the profile when I select them, right-click, and click on "Draw Parts in Profile". Like I said, this works for all the other pipes and structures in the profile except one. When I select the structure individually and try to draw it into the profile, it still won't work. A friend told me to make sure that the structure is within the surface, and it is.
I'm using AutoCAD Civil 3D 2011.
We have a project where the alignment is not in the center of the section (it's along one edge of the project), but we want the Title Annotation ("STA. 165+00") to show up in the center of the sections.
If you choose "Center" justification in the style, it "centers" it about the zero offset, which in our case is actually the left side.
Is there any way to truly center this call, short of turning it OFF and manually creating separate labels?
Unfortunately, I can't use "Center" and give it a "Y" offset, because the alignment does vary slightly (±30 feet) within these 250' cross sections - which would cause the label to vary by that much also...
With ProfileView I can get Alignment Id.

is it possible to export the position and elevation of points plotted in a section view to a csv or txt file? I have a surface with section profiles cut every 100 feet or so, and would like an external copy of just the data used to plot the section views to use for another analysis.
