Is it possible to label a pipe crossing offset in section view dynamically? I see there are options to label start offset and end offset, but not at the actual crossing.
View 5 RepliesI created this label for my pipe crossing. I want to be able to start the vertical line at the invert, and be able to move the text up and down and have the line adjust.
Currently my dragged state has the arrow head size as 0 and visibility as false, since it starts the leader at the centerline of the pipe. But without using the leader, I cannot adjust the vertical line dynamically.
Noticed this in R2013? Not bothering to check with 2014 yet as I don't really use it.I have three vports. TL is Profile view, TR is SV and other is 3d.
There seems to be slight difference between the pipes in the profile/sections compared with the Structure pipe crossing.
All styles are set for External walls, when swapped to internal this is still incorrect. All pipes are same size & part and are Horizontal. Sections / alignment is taken along centre of pipework.
I have attached a picture of my issue. I have a section view with pipes drawn in them. However, for some reason I am getting lines from different networks that aren't crossing my sample line. The purple pipe is a storm pipe and the green is the sewer. The blue lines you see are water lines, but shouldn't be on this section view.

View 1 Replies View RelatedC3D 2009. I have a style that labels the pipe diameter in section view and the type of pipe. When I label the pipe everything shows up fine. Save the drawing and re-open and my labels are gone. I can see them when is opening but after it regenerates, gone. All layers are on display set to true. Tried too many different things and no success. This issue only happens in two drawings.

View 2 Replies View Relatedi've got proposed stormwater pipes crossing existing utility pipes. my proposed stormwater pipes run parallel to but offset from my road centerline alignment. i want to show the existing utility pipe as an oval where it crosses my stormwater pipe. i can get the utility to show up in the profile at the centerline alignment of my road but not at the actual point where the pipes cross. is there a way to show this?

Problems with masked crossing pipe in the profile view? So basically I want to show a manhole with three pipes attached in the profile view and I use style override for pipes in a profile view to show crossing pipe, but crossing pipe gets masked with "Enable part masking" option in the Structure style. So I either can show crossing pipe and projected pipes drafted to center of the structure, or I can see only projected pipes drafted to the structure outer walls, but cannot see crossing pipe.
I would like to see projected (incoming) pipes drafted to the structure outer wall, and crossing pipes. Is that possible? See figure attached.
I have a typical storm sewer pipe network in a drawing by itself with an alignment. I data referenced both of these into another drawing. I draw the pipe network in the profile view I created and the pipes that run with the road show up fine. Every once in awhile there is a lateral storm sewer pipe that runs across the road. When I draw these in the profile view they show up, but, only the pipes that are skewed to the alignment show up. If the pipe is perfectly perpendicular to the alignment it does not show up. I have two styles setup. One main one that shows the inner and outer pipe walls and another one for overrides for the crossing pipes and that stlye has crossing pipe walls turned on.
Why is it though only the skewed pipes show up as ellipses in my profile view but the perpendicular pipes do not?
I have a drawing with a couple of profiles and some pipe networks. One alignment is collinear with the pipe network and another crosses the networks. I want to show the pipe crossing as well as the longitudinal on it companion alignment. If I set the profile setting for the pipe display to show the pipes crossing I don't get the longitudinal and if I try to assign the different style to the crossing pipes the plan view disappears. So, how should I set my styles to get a crossing pipe and a longitudinal in the same file?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI need to project a crossing pipe onto a road centerline. I have water running down one side of the road 7' off the centerline of the road and sewer running down the other 8' off the centerline. There is storm drain running perpendicular across the road.
The sewer and the water are projected onto the centerline of road profile. When I draw the crossing pipes in that profile view and change the override, because it does not cross the centerline, it disappears from the profile view. How can I accurately show the crossing at the proper invert of the respective crossing without drawing the ellipses manually?
is there a way to include the pipe min/max cover as part of the str/pipe label?

I have lots of section views with some surfaces and pipes. Unfortunately, in a number of section views pipes are not shown in full height because the section view level range is too little. What I am wondering is - is it possible to automatically adjust section level ranges so that they fully include pipe sections? Please see also the image in the attachment.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a storm crossing shown on a road profile, and the ellipse that represents the storm pipe is only showing part of the inner wall (I've attached an image). This pipe is skewed slightly, but the entire pipe crosses the road alignment, and this should not make any difference.
Also, is there any way, yet, (I'm using C3D 2011) to have the label show not only the pipe name, but also the invert where the pipe crosses the road alignment, and remain dynamic,? In other words, without having to edit the label text, and lose the dynamic capability. Land Desktop would do this, but it was not dynamic, of course.

My colleague added parallel pipe networks and crossings to multiple SD profile views yesterday. Today, he came in, turned on AutoCAD, opened the drawing, and the parallel pipes and crossings were gone. The working folder had reset itself to nowhere so we reset the working folder and Data Shortcuts Folder, but that didn't bring them back. We can go into the profile view properties<pipe networks tab and turn the pipes and structures back on and override the styles, but that is basically redoing everything we did yesterday. Is there a way to avoid having to redo everything? Is there a way to avoid this from happening in the first place?

Pipe network storm pipes: Fairly new to Civil3D and trying to set up parts list for the storm sewer pipe and would like the plan view to appear as it does currently. We use a polyline for centerline of pipe, similar to dashed linetype but line and space are the same, width set to pipe width.

The need for these changes come from larger drawing sets were the section is cut on one sheet and shown on another. We'd like to link the sheet numbers in both the section marker terminator and view label.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am having an issue when producing a section view with my corridor. I have a corridor and corridor surface, as well as an existing ground surface. I create a sample line group and sample EG, Corridor Surface, and Material. When I produce a section view I get 4 sections in the view: EG, Corridor Surface(with the corridor surface naming convention), and an additional section simply called "Corridor Surface".
This last section is strange in that it seems to be using the correct assembly, but not targeting the correct features. Also it has grips at all of the vertices which I havent seen before.
And the strangest part, when I click on properties for this section and go to section data, the columns for Description and Data Source are blank.
If there is no data source, then where is this section coming from, and why is it showing up when I did not specify that it be created. This is a real mind boggler to me and makes no sense. Screenshot attached.
My future ground somehow disappeared out of one section view in my group. Under the section tabs I still have my existing ground and pipenetwork but the future ground isn't there. It remains in the other section views. How do I add it back?

The reason a want this is that to label lot connections in the form of a wye connection I typical use a pipe label with a stick block at 45 degress to represent the connection then explode it and use project to profile view command so the lot connection applies there as well. Just wanting to do it faster thru using code if it can be done.

Does the highlighted line only apply at the time that the label is placed? I have multiple sewers to label and I want to each set of labels at a different elevation. Changing this default will have NO effect on existing labels?
I have a pipe network created that is shown in multiple drawings. I created labels for the structures showing Rims and Inverts. How to put the Rim info on a different layer than the Invert info? Right now the label has 3 different components...I feel like there has to be a way to put each component on different layers...
View 6 Replies View RelatedI need to make a structure label that defines the "PIPE FALL" for each incoming pipe. By "PIPE FALL", I mean the elevation difference between the bottom of the structure and the incoming pipe invert elevation.
Actually, I thought it was going to be pretty simple, just by doing:
PIPE FALL = INCOMING PIPE INVERT ELEVATION - OUTGOING PIPE INVERT ELEVATION <CONNECTED PIPE OPPOSITE STRUCTURE NAME>
or
PIPE FALL = INCOMING PIPE INVERT ELEVATION - SUMP ELEVATION <CONNECTED PIPE OPPOSITE STRUCTURE NAME>
