In 2011 the pipe network cross section labels had to be exploded or they would disappear once you closed the drawing (even with saving).
In 2012 can you close and open a drawing and have the labels not disappear?

I have multiple profile views with a pipe network. In a number of cases, I have a pipe that extends to the end of one profile view and continues on the next. I can label the pipe on one profile but not on the other. Is there a way to add two labels to the same pipe - one label on one profile view and another label on the other profile?

I can figure out how to make them all one or the other, but am having trouble getting them to reflect correctly based on where they are attached.I am having trouble coming up with the actual expression or you can do it thru code set styles, but regardless of settings that I change nothing on the cross section view changes.

Issue #1:
I added the dimension to show that the bottom of the cross section is actually at 97.5 but is labeled as 98
Issue #2:
I would prefer the bottom of the cross section to be at an even elevation (98 not 97.5)
Using 2011 - Having trouble with cross section labeling. I have multiple label markers such as ROW, and multiple EASEMENT types. I've created corridors for each label type - each will show up if their corridor has a corridor section line at the same station as the base corridor, but at odd ball stations (like driveway openings) the labels do not show up, I'm thinking its because I don't have these corridor section lines in each corridor. Is there an easier work around rather than manually adding the section lines in each corridor?

In plan production, I have created the sheets (plan & profile) as a seperate drawing.
when I open the sheets, the pipe network profile labels are missing in model & paper space. (attachment 01)
I tried to on/off the annotation visibility tabs in the lower right corner (attachement 03)
Note: While creating the sheets, I select the tabs for pipe network & copy pipe network labels to destination drawings (attachment 02).
I am trying to annotate a floor plan to show the location/orientation of section, elevation and detail drawings. The labels must also indicate the appropriate drawing cross reference. (basically a circle with a arrow, text inside circle showing drawing cross reference). My question is - is there an automated way/library to insert such labels or do I have to create each of them from individual elements and make a block?
View 1 Replies View RelatedC3D 2009. I have a style that labels the pipe diameter in section view and the type of pipe. When I label the pipe everything shows up fine. Save the drawing and re-open and my labels are gone. I can see them when is opening but after it regenerates, gone. All layers are on display set to true. Tried too many different things and no success. This issue only happens in two drawings.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI am using Civil 3D 2013. I work in an office where we have a few different flavors of Autocad (LT, MEP, regular vanilla AutoCAD etc...) and versions (2010 LT, 2011, 2012, 2013).
For the most part there isn't much inter-office drawing coordinate that has to happen, but there is the occasional project where multiple disciplines (Structural, Mechanical and Civil Site) have to share drawings.
The specific problem I am having is when I share my 2013 Civil 3D drawing with a user using 2011 MEP. He gets the typical rectangle for the proxy objects (in my case, my pipe networks for sanitary and storm drain). We've tried downloading and installing various object enablers, but there doesn't seem to be one for a 2013 to 2011 scenario. So I setup my parts to be on layers that he can just turn off. HOWEVER... the actual pipe network (not the structures, parts, labels etc... the network itself) ends up on layer 0. For this specific project, I do the old (ssget "x" '((8 . "0")) search to select all objects on layer 0, add those objects to a selection set (pselect), then in my modify objects dialog I filter for pipe networks, then change the layer to something other then 0.
While this is a workaround that works for me, what I really want to know is if there is a way that I can change the default layer that the network (again, not pipes, structures or text, the actual network) so I don't have to use the workaround. Any thoughts?
P.S. It's killing me that I had to create a new Autodesk login and now all my AutoCAD "street cred" is lost

One of the things I seem to struggle with is being able to depict a single pipe when it needs to be shown in one profile as a crossing pipe, and another profile where you you show a lenghwise slice through the pipe. I end up tracing the pipe with eliptical objects where I'm cutting across the pipe and setting up more for the lengthwise/sideview of the pipe. Is there a way to have two different styles for the same pipe, one for a cross cut and one for a lengthwise slice?

Also I "insert" manhole every 400' per local code requirements using the command "network layout tools; structures only. In my section editor my labels show up correctly and in all the locations I want. But then, in my cross section file, I look in my section views and they are completely different. When I try to label more points under the Code Set Styles, they won't even show up on my section views.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI just recently was upgraded to C3D 2013 and I am designing my first road using the software. I've been having all sorts of fun and frustrations with Corridors and Cross Sections and learning slowly, but its all the little things that keep bogging me down.
One of the problems I have run into is when I use the Code Set label for Grade/Slope in Cross Sections I get label that reads -2.00% and then the word "Vertical". Is there an easy way to get rid of the word "Vertical" in every one of my 90+ Cross Sections? I checked under Label Style and it seems the only option is {Link Grade} which is what puts the Slope and Vertical. I mean what is the purpose in that word even appearing? I know that I can right click on the label and change visibility to False and it won't show, but I shouldn't have to do that for 90+ Cross Sections. Also I've seen the word "Horizontal" labeled as well and I don't want that word to show either.
I created several cross sections for a roadway design utilizing sample lines. I created multiple sample lines along the CL alignment and inserted the cross sections without any errors. The peculiar part is when I try to inquiry or label any cross section, nothing happens. Using the inquiry tool, I get an message that reads "Warning: Specified point is outside the section view. Try Again." If you see the attached PDF, you'll notice that the point I selected is dead center of the particular cross section in question. When I attempt to use labels to mark elevations, in the command line, it repeats "Pick a Point" but does not insert a label.
I created other cross sections in the same fashion and do not have this issue.
I am having an issue with the pipe networks drawing the pipes incorrectly in the cross sections. Whenever there is a crossing pipe running parallel with a structure, the pipe shows as a large ellipse instead of showing the pipe walls.
Some of the pipes are not running exactly parallel with the sample line, but they are pretty close. I know in the profile view you can change a setting to make a pipe show as a pipe end or as a regular pipe. Is there a setting for the cross sections as well? If not how do I get the pipes to show correctly?
I have lost the ability to create a pipe network in a single drawing. Sorta. I can create a pipe network, and label it, and see it in my toolspace, but it won't display it for any style in any format. I can bring in a data reference and label those, but can not see pipe or structure outlines or anything to that end. I have tried to recover, audit, purge. I am at the end, currently creating the pipe network, data referencing it in, and then just drawing lines between the labels.

How would I connect the network in order to create an alignment? (the pipe network has got a command to do that)
I have a drainage model, the data for which has been imported from microdrainage into Civil3d (.sws file) .
The engineer working on the project is playing around with the Invert and Cover levels so I reload the same updated .sws file into my model almost daily expecting the information shown in the labels of the pipes and manholes to simply change. Instead mine seem to disappear and I have to relabel the whole network again.
This wouldn't be much of a problem because labeling only takes a few minutes but with this particular scheme, the client wants the labels shown in a box with a leader. When I relabel, the boxes automatically snap to the center of the manholes without a leader and i then have to drag each one away from the manhole to get the leader to show up.
if i have one feature line i want to project to all sections in a sample line group it would seem you should be able to pick the one line and assign in a label style and you would be done quick and easy. instead if you pick the multiple projection option you get this percentage distance box and it tend to grab stuff you don't want.

I'm just starting to get involved with using SSA, and I'm wondering if it's possible to import sample lines/alignments (a la Hec-Ras). I see that there's an irregular channel editor, but no import options that I can see. I'll end up with about a dozen or so x-sections.
