While working in my topo drawing I used the "reverse" command to flip all my linetypes (water, over head wire, gas) to show correctly. My topo is x referenced into my utility drawing and my x reference lines will not flip. i have reloaded, i have closed and re opened, i have regenerated. No luck...

When i change a linetype in an xref file and then reload the file, The linetype does not change in the file i am referencing the drawing in, leaving me to manually change the linetypes within the drawing.
View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen I first created my surface model, any point I moved would snap back to its original position like a rubber band. I had to do some edits so I unlocked this by .... Survey Tab>My survey database>Survey Points>Points, and then picked "Unlock In Drawing". This command unlocked All points in the drawing so I could edit them.
Now that I am done with my edits, how do I reverse this command globally, so as to get ALL points locked again (so they snap back to their original position like a rubber band if moved, like before) ?
I'm doing an animation where I have a 2d side scrolling concept.
I have a side scrolling world with road, and the user controls a car driving left or right from one area to the other. The user controls the direction of the car via keydown (arrow keys).
Now the problem is, if the user presses right, then it works fine and the car drives forward to where I want it to stop. But if the user presses left to go back to a previously visited area...the car reverses to the previous area.
The way the keydown events control the timeline is simply if the user presses the right arrow key I simply call sym.play(); and when the user presses the left arrow key I call sym.playReverse();
how I can manage to either swap the car symbol with another symbol...or flip the car symbol 180 degrees.
The desired effect is, if I call the play action the car must face right > and when I can the playReverse action the car must face left <
I am having trouble when I import XRef’s and the scaling of lines. When the drawings are importing the hidden lines do not show up as hidden lines. I know this might be a scaling issue but I do not know how to correct this. The XRef drawing is drawn at a scale of 1-1/2”=1’-0” and set to print on a letter size paper but the drawing which it is imported to is set to be printed on a 11x17 but the viewport is still at the 1-1/2” scale and the lines are shown as continuous.

I am working on a drawing that has multiple XREF's. Is there a way to filter the Linetype properties selector so that XREF linetypes are NOT shown? I can go into the Linetype Manager and filter the XREF linetypes out, but it apparently does not affect the linetype properties options.
What is the reverse command for CHAMFER (working with 3D solids)?

I have two flips in there, one verticle, one horizontal. For some reason, whenever I tell it to flip, and then select everything in the block, it doesn't flip the other flip's arrow.
Then, when I created the second arrow, and went back to include the first flip in the second flip's Action Selection Set, it doesn't pick it up. Doesn't matter if I do "modify selection set" or "new selection set"... doesn't matter if I select everything within (blue box) or everything that touches (green box).
Yet, when I highlight the icon box, it shows everything is selected.
Can flips not flip other flips?
Additionally, I want the rotation parameter to flip on the horizontal flip (so it stays outside the block), but I can't get that into the selection either.
What am I missing with these selection parameters?
I just updated my company .LIN file and now I need to find the most efficient way to reload all the linetypes into our template and some drawings hopefully without having to delete or purge them out.

I'm using the DGNIMPORT command in a nearly empty civil3D drawing. I created a mapping setup to map over the levels to layers, the line styles to linetypes and the line weights. The levels successfully become layers, the lineweights are mapped appropriately... but the Linetypes are NOT.
I've attached two screen shots to illustrate the issue. The first shows the window with my mapping setup.
The second shows the 'preview' for the setup (Microstation Linestyles 1,6,7 are sent to continuous instead of to the 3 line types I created for the mapping process...)
I want to edit linetypes from a drawing that I got from a surveyor but do not know where Civil 3D stores the linetypes/*.lin files of externally created drawings.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am trying to xref a file in and when I select open through _XATTACH nothing happens. No subsequent dialog box opens up asking me to choose location, rotation, attach/bind, etc. The command just dies and I am back in my dwg.

i need to transition from a proposed to a future linetype part of the way down my profile. It's the same surface, just that @ station XX+XX.XX it becomes future. I need it a diff linetype to faded back, for example. Is there a way to do that? I'm thinking my only option is two create two surfaces, one propsed and one future. My situiation currently is that I already have one complete surface and would like to know if it's possible.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI created a custom shape for a custom linetype. I had no problems making it and the linetypes worked perfectly in the drawing I created it in. However, when I tried to load the linetype into another drawing it said there was a bad definition in the line with the link to the shape file. When I tried to import the shape file into the drawing to look at it, it said that the shapefile has an invalid FIle Code number (707865649). Considering that I created it not ten minutes before I do not understand what the problem is. The real problem is that I have made many linetypes and all the ones with shapes are having the same problem.

But I didn't get it at all. I need to draw my second floor in the same drawing. So what's the easiest way to do that?

here is an update: The Xref Palette is docked to my left side and when I hover to get it to flip out I click the DWG button in the left hand upper corner. Well nothing happens from there. Now, when I type -xref the command works at the command line. How do I get the palette to work again?

View 8 Replies View Relatedi have a drawing i am working and somehow i lost my linetypes that use shape files, anything with text in the linetype work fine. I have tried to reload the shape file, compile it and to no avail. my file directories are pointing in the right direction and everytime i load and compile it goes to correct file and directory.
The reason i say i caused it is they were in the drawing working fine, and 1 or 2 commands later gone, I tried to insert the drawing into a new drawing and that did not work. if i start a new drawing it works fine.
Requirement is to display pipes in profile with the same linetype ON TOP as shown in plan view, but bottom line of pipe must be continuous linetype.
Same problem as described here, 5 years ago [URL].......
I still do not see a way to control top and bottom pipe linetypes independently - using 2011.
I have made line types with text and need to reverse the direction that the text reads. The text autocorrects based on UCS north. The UCS in the drawing is rotated 90 degrees so line text reads upside down. I type in the reverse command but the text does not change.

View 2 Replies View RelatedWe have a large pipe project that forms a very large 'C' shape. To follow convention with advancing stations from left to right and north being up, we are running into some problems.
1). For Civil 3D, can you reverse the profile for a section, say station 9+00 to 18+00 only. The remainder would be one direction.
2). What do others use for convention for north arrow direction and advancing stations?
Our first sheet goes from east to west, the second and third sheets run north to south, the next ones are west to east, and the final ones are north to south.
3). What will be the layout/formatting?
