I need to create a profile view that starts at Station 189+00 and ends at Station 175+00 such that the stationing of the profile decends from left to right. How do I do this in Civil 3D 2010?

How do I revise the profile stationing from 100+00 to display 100.
Also is it possible to remove the beginning and end stations in the profile view
I have attached an example.
When I run my production sheets I'm only seeing 1300 feet of my profile and I like to see 1500 feet of my profile at 50 scale. Is there a way to show 1500 feet of profile?
View 9 Replies View RelatedWe have a large pipe project that forms a very large 'C' shape. To follow convention with advancing stations from left to right and north being up, we are running into some problems.
1). For Civil 3D, can you reverse the profile for a section, say station 9+00 to 18+00 only. The remainder would be one direction.
2). What do others use for convention for north arrow direction and advancing stations?
Our first sheet goes from east to west, the second and third sheets run north to south, the next ones are west to east, and the final ones are north to south.
3). What will be the layout/formatting?
I have a special ditch profile that I'd like to use a linetype with arrows on. Currently, it shows the arrows going up station with my mainline profile. i.e. now water does flow uphill...
How can I flip this line?
When labeling pipes, the lengths and stations do not always match. this appears to be related to a rounding issue. for example, the first pipe may start at 0+00 and have a length of 50.69167397’. The reported station in the structure label (using “normal rounding”) is naturally 0+50.69, as anticipated. The upstream pipe has a length of 43.36435901’, resulting in a total length from 0+00 of 94.05603298, resulting in a station of 0+94.06. However, the rounded values of the lengths (c’mon, nobody reports lengths to the 100-millionth) labeled on the pipes (50.69’ and 43.36’) total an expected station of 0+94.05.
I have tried all manners of “rounding” in the label styles, but it always falls down in one situation or another. I have also tried setting in the network and pipe “Feature Settings” for distance to a locked accuracy of 2 decimal places, but that does nto seem to do it either.
So, the question is, is there a way to resolve this issue without having to move one of the structures 0.001’ to resolve the mathematical parallax?
We are in the market of switching software programs (from JDS Alignment-a database driven program) for stationing alignment centerlines for pipelines. We currently run Civil 3D 2009 and Map 09. Carlson claims that their software can do this, but we'd rather not spend the extra money if we already have the functionality built into our existing programs.
We are looking for a program (or a function in Civil 3D 2009 and Map 09-similar to the Fieldbook functionality) that labels interference crossings, appurtenances and other pipeline, utility and topographical features based on a shot code. I attached a DWG. that shows how we want it to look, and the types of features we want stationed.
Stationing still disappears in viewports.
Centerline alignments are in my BASE file.Got the station labeling to work correctly.Have the BASE file x-ref'd into a working IMP file (for plan & profile sheets). This is what I plot from, etc.The station labeling appears fine in modelspace in the IMP file.The station labeling disappears in viewports in paperspace in the IMP file. Will not appear even when I am in MS mode in paperspace and in the viewport itself.All the associated layers are turned on and thawed, even VP-specific settings. REGENALL does not work. Annotation scale is set to 1"=30' in all files.I always scale my border up to the plot scale in paperspace. This is a habit that goes back almost two decades in LDD.
Maybe a setting regarding plot/annotation scales is the culprit? By playing around with the buttons in the lower right corner of the screen I got them to show up once by accident then they disappeared again when I did a simple REDRAW. I do not remember how I got there, but the process was convoluted and probably not optimal or correct.I am using Civil 3D 2011, btw.

Any way to label the slope stationing rather than horizontal stationing? This is common when doing long pipeline projects (40 miles) or more in very steep terrain. I am doing one now that is only 1 mile and the 2D verses 3D length is a difference of 100'. 40 miles that would mean it would be off 4000'. The client uses this stationing as a guide to know how much pipe they need. If you would do that horizontally that would be way off the mark.
I am using Civil 3D 2010? Maybe its included in 2012 or could that possibly be an option for future releases since it is a 3D software.
The stationing along my alignment line is missing. I do believe it was there yesterday at 5 but hey who knows. How do I restore it the PI stationing is there.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI have a user with an alignment that has the stationing labels in 20 and 60 scales annotative. He needs to move one of the 60 scale labels because at that scale it overlaps another label nearbye. However when he makes the 60 scale the active scale and selects the label and moves it with a grip like normal, it also modifies the positioning of the 20 scale label. Not sure if it matters, but unlike normal annotative text, it does not shadow the other scales when he selects it, though that might be an independent setting.

Why doesn't the station value update for the sample line once this is moved. For some reason I remember the station text on the sample line updating itself automatically in the past.

I would like to label the structures with the stationing from the alignment it's on but I would also like the label to include the road centerline station perpendicular to the structure.

I have a corridor with an associated sample line group, and I have produced some material volume tables to give me quantities for my corridor structures and cut/fill volumes. When I look at the material volume tables they are at a seemingly arbitrary stationing. The sample line group which the material volume tables are (supposedly) based on are on alignment L1000 and they run from station 1133+73 to station 1154+00 every 10 meters. The material volume tables show volumes broken down by stations starting at station 3719+58.66 and runs through to station 3786+08.92. It is sampling at a seemingly arbitrary frequency, there is absolutely no alignment in my drawing that has stations remotely resembling those numbers, and there is definitely no sample line group it could be using that samples an alignment or stationing anything like that shown in the materials volume tables. I using a data reference/shortcut to properly label an alignment in paperspace. However when I reference the alignment in and apply the labels the aren't the same as the original alignment that I am referencing. Is there a setting where I am supposed to apply a new beginning station.
Also it seems as though the stationing(distance) isn't even matching up 1:1 with the original drawing. For example in the original base drawing my alignment starts at 10+00 with the next PI at 14+76.98, but the stationing on the reference alignment starts at 0+83.33 with the very same PI being labeled as 1+23.08. So the very same distance is 476.98' in the real design and the drawing it's being referenced in, but the stationing of the referenced alignment shows it as 39.75 Units.

I've created a network of my stormsewer (which means the stormsewer lines are all on different streets) and added the inlets to my street profiles.
How do I get the profile structure labels to reflect the stationing from the street alignments?
I have a polyline in my drawing, consisting of arcs and lines all joined together. It is a waterline and I cannot get it to reverse.. it is reading ----M----- instead of -----W-----

Survey Tab>My survey database>Survey Points>Points, and then picked "Unlock In Drawing". This command unlocked All points in the drawing so I could edit them.
Now that I am done with my edits, how do I reverse this command globally, so as to get ALL points locked again (so they snap back to their original position like a rubber band if moved, like before) ?

I can't figure out how to reverse the flow direction on my pipe so I was going to just redraw it but after I delete a pipe and rt click to edit network the "add pipes and stuctures" won't let me add anything. I'm just guessing I need to reverse the flow direction because my invert out and invert in elevations are backwards in the profile. I'm working in Civil3D 2012.

I have an alignment label that I normally use to show the PVI's of a profile in the plan view.
This is a little unusual, but in a specific case I wanted to design my profile at one alignment, but show it at another. I designed my swale profile in the pathway profile view and then superimposed the swale profile on the swale profile view. I then went back to the swale alignment to add these labels.
It's a no-go AFAICT. The only profile available for me to select for these labels is the original ground profile from the surface.
I'm working with a structure profile label style and it seems like the only way to anchor the position of the label is based on offsets from the structure itself... Any way to position the label based on the top of the profile view, so that I could make all of my labels horizontally aligned above the profile view?
