Oct 28, 2013I need to put a reverse curve on an alignment. I have tried using two free curve fillets,(between two entities, radius). the first curve was fine, but it would not allow the second curve. I also tried using a floating curve ( from entity radius through point) first, but it did not work.

AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Parcel Reports To Show (reverse Curve)?
Mar 12, 2012I have edited the "GeneralLegalPhrasings.xml" file used for the parcel report "General_Legal_Description_for_Parcels".
Two issues: 1. it will not label a reverse curve properly....it shows them all as "compound curves". 2. A curve to curve is always shown as "NonTangent".
I've attached the .xml file (I only edited the imperial parcels - the second large group of <Metes>).
Quite simply, these two "types" below have the words "reverse curve" and tangent or non-tangent accordingly in the output phrase, but it only creates non-tangent compound reports.

This is the report from the parcel in the attached dwg file (notice the "curve to the left" -> "curve to the right" labelled as compound, and all non-tangent curve to curve):

Aug 5, 2013how to create reverse curve with straight portion in between , as their is no option of creating reverse curve with straight portion in civil 3d , duding designing a hill road what ever the reverse curve you design will be wrong and superelevation generated will also be wrong as it do no include straight in between the curves (ie reverse curve should contain transition curve transition straight transition curve transition.)

Dec 31, 2013I have ran an analysis and SSA gave me Error 607 on the report. It says "Inlet A9 gutter capture curve is not a valid curve."
A couple things I did different from the video lectures...
I selected user define for the Tc to figure out Q. i computed those manually.
For the Inlets I have selected Maximum Capture Cutoff.
There are some inlets in this model I created that do not capture 100% of the flow so i created conveyance links to account for the bypass flow.Not sure why is not recognizing the Curve?
AutoCAD Inventor :: Transition From Single User / Desktop Content To Two User / Vault?
May 7, 2013After getting Vault installed on our server and successfully setting up users and connections, I used the Library Transfer Guide to move our Content Center (including custom) to the Vault. I then changed the Inventor Application Options -> Content Center -> Access Options to Autodesk Vault Server.
This seems to have worked, as I can Place from Content Center when in an assembly, and it is pulling standard content as well as our custom files properly from the vault. However, in the instructions that I used for the installlation, it was suggested to stick with a standard folder structure within the Vault, namely two Library Folders named 'Content Center Files' and 'Libraries' and also a regular folder named 'Designs'.
I created those folders prior to transferring the library, as I thought they would be populated with the standard/custom content. This was not the case and I am curious when these folders come into play? *they are empty*
Also, today I will be attempting to 'Check In' a project to the Vault that I recently completed; does this usually maintain structural relationships between files?
Would you recommend using a single project structure in vault for two people? It seems, since we won't be working on the same project at the same time, having a single project would not be relavant to our situation..

Mar 5, 2013We have a large pipe project that forms a very large 'C' shape. To follow convention with advancing stations from left to right and north being up, we are running into some problems.
1). For Civil 3D, can you reverse the profile for a section, say station 9+00 to 18+00 only. The remainder would be one direction.
2). What do others use for convention for north arrow direction and advancing stations?
Our first sheet goes from east to west, the second and third sheets run north to south, the next ones are west to east, and the final ones are north to south.
3). What will be the layout/formatting?

Nov 15, 2012I've attached a screenshot of some "webbing" I have going on between regions in my corridor. As you can see on the left, there's the start of a left turn pocket lane, which is why I have two different assemblies. This is just one instance, but this is happening along my entire corridor. I've given up on trying to resolve and have made gaps in my corridor. But me being an engineer, gaps bother me and would rather figure out a solution. I'm wondering if it has anything to do with point codes?

I wanted to reverse the cross flow so I created two corridors, one flowing to the left and one flowing to the right along the same tangent centerline. I want to add a 50 foot warp transition in between them. I'n not sure how to do that. I thought of the intersection design but that won't work.

Nov 28, 2012When I first created my surface model, any point I moved would snap back to its original position like a rubber band. I had to do some edits so I unlocked this by .... Survey Tab>My survey database>Survey Points>Points, and then picked "Unlock In Drawing". This command unlocked All points in the drawing so I could edit them.
Now that I am done with my edits, how do I reverse this command globally, so as to get ALL points locked again (so they snap back to their original position like a rubber band if moved, like before) ?

Jan 7, 2014I can't figure out how to reverse the flow direction on my pipe so I was going to just redraw it but after I delete a pipe and rt click to edit network the "add pipes and stuctures" won't let me add anything. I'm just guessing I need to reverse the flow direction because my invert out and invert in elevations are backwards in the profile. I'm working in Civil3D 2012.

I have a large fill area directly dropping to to a large cut area. All of the above work is in rock, There is a retaining wall along a section of the "cliff face" but not at the ends where the cut and fill meet.
I would like to transition the fill batter on to the cut batter to enable the filled area above to be self supporting.

Sep 12, 2013I am working on a project where some of the corridors require different daylight slopes. I need to transition between a region with 2:1 slope to a 10:1 slope. My local civ3d support said something about using grading tools to achive that.
What I understood was that my assemblies should not have any daylight sub-assembly and that i should grade the corridor and than add a transition zone between the different gradings. Did I understand correctly?

May 6, 2010With Civil 2010 I used superelevataion to transition a street's cross fall from left to right. It was very straight forward with 2010.
Now with 2011 it appears that I cannot add superelevation to an alignment with any curve and change the crossfall of a street from left to right over 20m.
