I've created a simple cutdown kerb in Subassembly Composer 2013. I can't add Point, Link or Shape Codes & get the error message " The code (Flange for example) is not a valid input parameter or variable.

I just installed AutoCAD Civil 3D 2012 last week from upgrading from 2011. I just noticed that when I set up a new drawing coordinate system for a horizontal datum, I get a message "Coordinate System Code is not Valid". I know the files are loaded under the documents and settings folder, but I don't know why it's not reading them.

My sticking point is defining the "slope", which I want to be an input parameter, from P6 to P7.
L7 needs to tie to this slope while maintaining the superelevation.

I hope Autodesk can have a easier way to edit the "input/output parameter" sequence. Today I found I cannot even delete a parameter. Whenever I want to delete a parameter, SAC just frozen.

I've created my subassembly and I want to control the order of parameters to have a flow similar to the actual workflow.
I am wanting to buy the photoshop cs6 and am currently running Microsoft but want to upgrade my laptop by the end of the year to a Mac..use the keycode once when you purchase it? Should I go and get the new computer now? On that note which Mac for photo editing I was thinking MacBook pro 15" or should I go the 17"?

I'm attempting to have a single timber part that has several draft face features within it, so I can control the bevelsa on the part with iLogic at a later date. The problem I'm having is that when the "running bevel" changes direction it throws out the bevels on the ends. (I've attached the file, it's very difficult to put into words.
But basically: When the running bevel is "forward" the end bevel measures 20degrees (as it should) When I flip the running bevel to "backwards" the same end bevel now measure 19.7degrees while the input parameter still says 20.
I'm using VBA in Inventor 2010. I want to create a macro that adds 3 fields to a part for LRNGTH, WIDTH and THICKNESS, as well as comments and setting the export to be export out. My program is below and works well. However i would like to end the macro with the parameter dialog box open. What code do i need to do this?

Is it possible with iLogic code to set a parameter in a bunch of parts equal to another paramter?
I want some iLogic code that will go into my pipe parts and make the PL param = D2.
I was working with ilogic, Adding a new rule and all of a sudden I got an error and when I double click on a parameter to add it to the code, the format changed.
It used to look like this when I added a parameter: Parameter("vertical seperation:1", "partitionthickness")
but now when I double click on a parameter I get this: vertical seperation.ipt.partitionthickness
Also when I right click on a parameter and select display current state, It does the same thing, for some reason the code does not display like it used to.
I got an error when this first happened and I tried reproduce the error again but it did not appear again. This affected all my parts and even in different projects.
I re installed inventor because I thought there might be a file link broken but it did not fix it.
I want to use iLogic to create User Parameters with Multi-Value lists filled with info from an excel spreadsheet. What is the code to create a new User Parameter?

View 6 Replies View RelatedI am using OffsetTaget.isValid in my subassembly.But i realize that when i put this formula it checks the whole drawing for that target and if the target polyline exist even a piece of polyline in the drawing then C3D considers it for all sample lines.Is ıt possible to be able to check each single sample line if it is going to intersect that target polyline or not?

At the end of the day yesterday our server crashed while I was working on a drawing and today when I tried to open the drawing I got the message 'Drawing File is Not Valid'. Is there a way to recover the drawing? I tried the recover command but I got the same message. i tried converting the BAK file and CAD did not respond.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm having issues trying to create a point table. I have used this process before with no problem but now for some reason C3D won't create the table. I get an "NO VALID SELECTION" after selecting the C3D points. Why I'm getting this error? All my points are C3D points and C3D recognizes the points while the POINT TABLE CREATION menu is still visible but once it goes to create the table i get that error message.

My need is to create up to 50 points from the same origin in a three dimensional Cartesian coordinate system but I’d also like to have a labels for each point that show up in the feature tree.
Are there Inventor 2013 plugin (i.e., add-on, 3rd party, AP) to convert a list 3D Cartesian coordinate system locations (i.e., points) to Inventor to work points(x, y, z)?
I found that I cannot create 3D points in the assembly. Is this correct? I did find that an Inventor part may be used to create a 3D sketch that creates points in 3D space. In the past few days, I found two ways to create 3D points within a iPRT; the batch way uses an Excel file but it then does not allow me to name the points in the feature tree. The second way is to create them one at a time but that take way too much time.
I saw another thread on this, but it went unanswered, so I am going to ask it with some better information.I installed inventor pro 2012, and it was working fine for a few days, but it now is missing the input boxes for the Precise Input window. URL....

Any setvar or something that I can use?
There are load of different coordinate systems to choose from, and I don’t want to have to manually enter it for every drawing.
I wonder is it possible to have a daylight (or other function) that can give a different slope for datum and for the top. This would be useful for if you have different rules (e.g. because of geotech) with regard to temporary and permanent batter slopes.

View 3 Replies View RelatedOften we need to collect our topographic/boundary data using a state plane grid, but we still need to label property lines using the recoded deed bearings. We have a style with an expression set up to apply this rotation to lines and a similar one set up for curves. Is there a way to store this rotation and have both expressions look up the value from one place?
I am worried that I will type in the angle for the line labels and then forget to type it in for the curve labels, or maybe the angle is typed in correctly in one expression but incorrectly in the other. If it was typed in once, then even if it was wrong, at least the labels would be consistent and correct relative to each other.
I need to change the radial acceleration value in Civil3d when designing for super elevated bends to shorten the transition of a track. I can calculate the transition manually but is there a way i can input this data in the design criteria while carrying out the alignment geometry design in Civil 3d.

I am creating the stations and elevations in LISP and want to send them to the "Profile" program. I have seen in a C# program the use of an Array to send the data. I would like to do the same. eg.
LISP - (profile_sample sta1 elev1 sta2 elev2 sta3 elev3 ...etc)

I even changed a style that "HAD" allowed me to use an expression, to a number then tried to reenter the same expression name that was there and get "Invalid Input".

View 9 Replies View RelatedI've been working in C3D for about 5 yrs now, and one thing that drives me absolutely nuts about it is how to get the correct layers to display when plotting different sheets out of the same drawing, regardless of the layer state of my model. I worked in Terramodel for about 5 years prior to coming back to AutoCAD and became spoiled by the ease with which layers displayed on different sheets in the same drawing. You assigned a layer state to the viewport and that viewport always plotted that way.
It didn't matter what layers were on or off, frozen or thawed in the model view, once you jumped over to the sheet it always looked the same once you set it up. In C3D I've tried viewport overrides, jumping into the viewport and setting the layers then saving the layer state... All sorts of different approaches, but I've never found anything that really works. My projects are typically small enough that I have all of my sheets in the same drawing but want different layer settings on different sheets.
