Edge Animate CC :: Loop Code X Times With Counting Parameter / Variable

I want to loop a code / function .. let's say 100 times and each time one parameter or variable is counted up.I found "for"-loops and some with a counter.. but I coudn't get it to work in Edge Animate.Here is a fragment of the code I want to loop ->

I've got a symbol that I want to loop 3 times on the main stage.how to write the code
I was thinking of putting somethiing similar to the code below in the "onComplete" action of the symbol I want to loop (I know the code is wrong but I think it is a bit close):
var l_count = (0+1);
if (l_count <= 3) {
sym.play();

Is this close, or is there a better way to go about this?

I've created a simple cutdown kerb in Subassembly Composer 2013. I can't add Point, Link or Shape Codes & get the error message " The code (Flange for example) is not a valid input parameter or variable.

From the image above you can see that "jquery" loaded twice @ 91kb = 181kbedge 1.5 loaded twice @ 102kb = 204kb aswell as the edge and edge actions files loaded twice and if i boot strap comps together the images are loaded multiple times aswell

Is it possible to get the text color to FadeIn or the opacity of the text color to animate with the lines of code below? I simply want the color to fade in when the mouse rolls over the text.

I am a graphic designer and I work on w7 64.I find the latest version of Edge Animate.I saw several tutorials, amongst those showing how to make a loop on an animation. I proceed as explained in the preview on my browser (Chrome), the animation runs, but no loops.In fact, I tried other interactions and other triggers : nothing of these works there!

wondering if there is a way to pause inside a loop. I am away that jQuery has a delay() function but i can't seem to get it to work.
was thinking something like:

I am trying to get an animation to auto play, and loop only a particular part of the animation.
For example, the first part of the animation is my logo dropping in and bouncing. Then certain parts of the logo are animated continually, but I cannot figure out how to do this without just creating a huge timeline?

I have a simple snowflake animation where 4 different snowflakes are falling down the screen. These are all contained in a symbol which is set to loop. The goal is that when the user clicks a snowflake it will pause the animation, populate a popup text box (in another symbol) then resume playing after 5 seconds. I'm no expert with javascript and I've checked just about every resource I could find but can't seem to get it working. My initial thought was to do some kind of if/else statement that checks to see if the symbol is playing, then if it is, pause it for so long. I'm having a difficult time with the syntax.

I am creating web banners to put on eg. Google where the banners must stop animate after X seconds.
Now.
After the animation looping ends (after eg. 2 loops) I need the banner to jump to a "end message", eg. Book today! - how can I do that?

I have a continuously moving looping slide show that has back and next buttons. When you press the next button it should move forward one where ever it is on the timeline every time you click it and the same for the back button.
This is the code I am using but the the problem is that it goes to else {sym.play("one");} when the button is clicked. No matter where in the timeline the next button is clicked, it goes back to number one. I don't know much about coding and I have tried everything to fix this but I am stuck.

just started using Edge Animate. I have some experience with Flash and After Effect so the layout is pretty familiar to me. I have no background in coding so I am very happy that it generates codes for me.
My goal is to make a simple html5 site with links / embedded videos to my contents (500 and vimeo). I copied some codes used for Youtube embedding, sub'd the url with vimeo url, and it worked fine. I used a "play video" button on the main page to trigger loading the video page (see my code below).
It worked great the first time I clicked the button and went to the video page. However, upon returning to the main page, and click the "play video" button again, a duplicate copy of the video is loaded right below the video loaded upon first click. This occurs for as many times as I click the play video button.

I have a logic problem in my code that I need solving,
here's the bit of code which is supposed to set the text, image and link for a symbol used multiple times on the Stage.

The text and image code work, however my problem is with setting the link. It always sets all the symbols to the last name in the names[] array. What I want it to do is to set the link to the personalised name in the array. So the HH button will link to hugh.html and the BM button will link to brym.html etc.
For now I'm going to play around a bit and see what happens.

I have created a symbol that is a horizontal banner consisting of six paragraphs of text P1 thru P6. Each paragraph is no more than 300 px wide.
I then created six trigger symbols and placed them beneath a 300 x 300 vieweing window on the stage.
When the stage opens, paragraph 1 (P1) is viewable in the window. If the user clicks a trigger, I want the banner to scroll left or right, from its current position, to display the corresponding paragraph.
Example : P1 is showing in the viewing window. The user clicks trigger #4. The banner scrolls right and eases P4 into view in the window. The user then clicks trigger #2. The banner then scrolls left and eases P2 into viewing position in the window.
My old (very old) Flash training tells me I need to set a numeric value into a variable when each trigger is clicked and then use that value and concatenate it with label text to tell the play head to play from the proper postion (play ("Para1")), (play ("Para2")), etc. where Para# is the label on the timeline.
I feel like I'm close to getting this to work, but after a number of hours of trying I've concluded that over time I've either forgotten a key step or there's some easier way to do this in Edge Animate. (I'm very new to CC and EA).

Just getting started with Animate and coming to it from Flash, as may be apparent from my question. How do you set a variable to the main timeline from within a symbol?
I have 24 pairs of clickable elements, each in their own symbols, and all 24 of those symbols sit inside another symbol. I want all 24 to be able to set the same global variable when clicked. I can't find that this question is addressed anywhere, which makes me think I may be stuck in a Flash mindset and approaching the task in the wrong way. (There are however MANY discussions of how to address objects at different levels in the hierarchy. That's well covered.)
Relatedly, how do you access a function on the main timeline from within a symbol?
Adobe should consider putting together a support page (or pages) just for folks migrating form Flash. In the materials I've encountered so far there seems to be a studied effort to refrain from mentioning Flash in any way. I imagine there are a lot of people out there like me who have a deep background in Flash coding, but are just getting started with Animate.

I'm simply trying to animate the y axis of a symbol with code. When I rollover one symbol, I'd like it to move the symbol it's inside a certain distance. Never seems to work. I've tried looking up the simple jquery syntax to change an image's y position, but it's hard to find!
This is what I have so far:

I've dynamically placed a symbol on the stage at runtime. Per user input, I'd like to adjust the scale, position, etc. of this symbol (which is just a white sphere that bounces on using the animation in it's own timeline).
How do I address scale, position, opacity, etc. attributes of my symbol via the code, and where can I find a good, solid reference on syntax? I keep bouncing into jquery libraries, which I don't yet really understand how to implement. I'm missing that reference manual that defines all the functions we have at our disposal.

Part of my project includes a slider that is dynamically given a position. Because this all happens in code, I can't use the timeline tool to change the easing to something like "easeOutBounce."
This seems to follow the jQuery convention but results in the standard easing:
sidebarSymbol.$("slider").animate({top: sidebarSymbol.sliderPositions[scene]}, 750, "easeOutBounce", sym.playNext());

Ok so Im trying to embed html code into a website. I created an animation on edge, but after i publish i cant use the final publish link to just link embed. Because my isp has inbound ports blocked.
Anyway my question - Is there a way to just take the code from all the files and paste it into the website ?
If so, how would I organize the code, so it worked correctly ?

This has been a little annoying when trying to work on my edge animate projects. As I am using an old 4:3 ratio as my monitor - I don't have a lot of space on my desktop. Whenever I want to insert or edit code in Edge, the code menu pratically takes up my whole screen.
As you can see the font is still large even when it is on 'small' font size. Is there anywhere to change this or do I have to go digging manually into Edge's files?

I have a symbol on the stage: symbol1.Inside symbol1 I have an image: symbol1_image1...I have another symbol on the stage: symbol2 Inside symbol2 I have an image: symbol2_image2
in composition.ready I have an action on the mouseout for symbol1:

In composition.ready i have the following function defined
sym.doMouseout = function (colorTile){
sym.$(colorTile.show());

I cannot get this to work and I am not understanding why.If I do an alert on the mouseout function for alert($(colorTile).attr("id")); I get the correct referenc to the element I want to show but it does not actually happen

I have a touchscreen project that I am using Edge Animate to create. So far its working great, but I am trying to find the correct code to make an Idle Timeout after 3 minutes to go back to the stage frame 1 or the label "StageStart" that I have created. I have tried attaching the following code as a 3 second test to the function "touchend", but it doesn't seem to work:

Is there a reason why I can not open the actions panel from the timeline when I have the code panel docked and open in application frame? If I close the code panel I can view the actions panel. Why can't I have both open?

I have use Photoshop Element for some time, but now I'm using PS7, in PS element you con make animation and then go to file>save for web>check Gif>check animate>check loop and explorer play the animation but in PS 7, I can't fine animation or loop to preview the animation
Is PhotoShop elements butter then PhotoShop 7? I hope not because I spent too much money on PS 7, and PS elements came with my new PC for free.
How can I explain to my wife the after I spend all that money on PhotoShop 7 I have to go back and reinstall ShotoShop Elements.
