I quickly created a roof and changed the view display to "sketchy". When I show the roof in top view diagonal lines are shown on the sloped surfaces. How do I get rid of them?
View 1 RepliesI have a Material Definition for my Roof Object. I prefer to keep it a Roof Object instead of breaking it into slabs. See Display Properties image for settings. I have Surface Hatch turned on.
Model views show the hatch correctly.
Elevation views show the hatch correctly.
Plan views do not show the surface hatch at all.
How can I get the surface hatch to show in plan? I have tried changing the cut plan height. It seems I am making something more complicated than it should be.
I am using 2011 and have created a project for a 2 story structure. I have constructs for each floor, each floor slab and roof slab.
In which construct do I apply the roofline command? I am unsuccessful so far. Does the roof slab need to be in the same construct as the walls?
1.How can I edit the roof in attached dwg to be like in attached jpg?
One option I think it would be to convert it to roof slab.
What is the disadvantage (if any) to convert ia roof to roof slab?
Can I create it in other way ?
2. In section 2, the first floor walls ends in 90 degrees angle at the roof. Can the walls be edited so that the joint line with the roof follow the roof slope?
Is there any to get the single line display into the medium or medium low rep by object? I see the only place to get it is to use the High Detail rep by object. Normally in a high detail would you not want a double line for doors? and use a single line for concept in the medium low? I would like to see the ability to have the single door in all display reps by object

I'm trying to place the blue circle at the bottom of the drawing so its radius is 15mm from the mid point of the diagonal line on the right. I've been experimenting with snap points and the from command, but I can't seem to get it just right. I suspect I mess up with the coordinates from the offset point since it's on a diagonal line.
How to make hip roof turn gable part way up the roof instead of at the bottom (which would be a gable roof).

Actually, I know that it is the initial insertion point of the roof baseline, but why doesn't it update with grip edited changes in the elevation of the baseline? See the attached file. The three x-lines converge on 0,0,0. The roof elevation is stated as 0. Obviously that property is meaningless. Considering the importance of roof elevations and making them meaningful, you'd think there would be some rhyme or reason to that property.

I've been having a propblem with the roof design at the moment, i am trying to get the gable ends of the roof to stand up on a 90 angle on both sides by editing the edges/faces but every time i do this the roof ends disappear so theres a hole in the sides of the roof and you can see into the house. How to do this so they do not disappear?
A plotting issue that has never been addressed perplexes me! When working in a paperspace layout and trying to plot or print by window or display, I get a partial print or nothing at all. Typically, I will get a partial print showing the drawing above a diagonal line. This has plagued me through many versions of Autocad.

I'm not very well versed in curtain walls, though I get around okay with door & window assemblies, and they seem similar, I just don't really know what differentiates them within the program. That aside, any way to create exposed rafter tails more efficiently than arraying mass elements?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a gif (as below) and I am trying to remove the strip of yellow you can see diagonally. the image was originally a fawn/yellow/brown colour, but using the 'Replace Colour' tool, I have managed to colour most of it in blue - apart from that yellow strip you can see.
When the image is magnified, the diagonal strip of yellow under the blue appears with the edges all jagged and it looks untidy. Is there a way to make them smoother, or should I begin by doing the whole thing in a different way? I am using Photoshop Version 8.
when using the brush/pencil tool it now only draws straight lines (horizontal and vertical). If I try to draw a diagonal line, for example, it just comes out as a staircase.

When I use the 3DCLIP command to create section views of models created in Architecture, the wall and roof objects do not clip correctly. The clipping planes do not create sections of those objects.
Is there a way to get the 3DCLIP command to actually intersect wall and roof objects?
I would like to know whether it is possible (and how) to trim a wall that was generated from mass face to a roof (also generated from face mass) or/and make a horizontal hole in it. The wall itself is not straight or curved, it shifts outwards from the building from base to top (still in an elevation it looks like rectangle).
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm on the brink of insanity with creating my diagonal line pattern. I've tried everything I can think of but the pattern is an absolute mess! I want to create a diagonal line pattern but I want the lines not to be uniform. Basically I've made a group of 3 lines and then one separate line on its own, then to repeat this as the picture below. I've used the distribute function so the distances between the lines is identical everywhere. I've then rotated the whole thing exactly 45 degrees and aligned the lines to fit the bounding box in the "make pattern" mode as shown. Yet the resulting pattern is just a mess of overlap ugliness. All I want is for the pattern to literally look as it does in the image on the left, how to sucessfully do this in CS6?

For example, Stairs have a stringer componet in plan display configuration but does not have a stringer componet in the Low Detail configuration. I need the stringer to show when I go to low detail how can I add a stringer componet in low detail.
I want to make a steel deck roof with mineral wool insulation on top. My problem is that I don't know how to do the metal deck.
It should be a slab, a roof slab or a structural member? How do I create it? I attached a drawing with how it should be.
