I need to divide irregular shapes into equal parts. For example, the attached shape needs to be divided into 10 equal parts. Parametres could be set such as all dividing lines are horizontal.
I need to do this in autocad (2013) if possible.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am trying to create a 3D meshed surface from an irregular shaped solid I created using firstly a SPLINE, FILLET, PEDIT, and EXTRUDE. I have a solid in the basic shape now, but I am trying to create a meshed top and bottom (x, y, z,) to change the contours of those surfaces. I have looked at 3DMesh but it asks for (n,M,) coordinates like it is a regular shaped surface (square, rectangle) where one can calculate the required even spacing needed.

I have trouble manually tracing around an irregular shape, such as a pitcher winding up to pitch a ball. I use the shape editor to outline the figure. When I finish I find that there's two outlines, and they're not connected. Is there some way to get them connected as one complete outline?

T he problem I'm having is that it's an involved process and most of the time requires too much tweaking - the points in both shapes should be the same and should approximate each other's distances btw the location on both shapes. I have need of creating a 12" wide (contrasting) carpet border for an area. The main carpet area will have a pattern. The border will be a complementary solid color carpet.I attempted to use Create & Divide Parts to do this, but get strange results.
1. Create Parts > Select Floor.
2. Divide Parts
3. Edit Sketch > draw two closed loops to define the part area.
4. Exit sketch - entire sketch shifts to the right by a foot or so.
im using XXP5, i have an irregular polygon or shape which is the space between a curved shapes outline. within this irregular shape, I want to mould the textso it is stretched / destretched to fill the space yet still be readable.
i have tried to convert the text to shapes and then adjust the nodes, but i dont get any nodes making up each letter(!) the mould tool itself doesnt seem to work. the process first involves stretching the font and rotating it to roughly fit it as close as possible.
I want to separate this shield shape equal horizontally and have one half white, and the other half red. Here is the shape.
How could I go about doing this?

and then rather than a point at the bottom imagine a flat extra line (so it then has 6 sides rather than 5)
I can make a 6 sided shape no problem, but it always has equal length sides when I first produce it,
So I goto
Transform>skew
(as I would image I could change its shape with) it just never looks right.
I take it I either want to drag the corners in and out or to perhaps input the details of size/length/angles etc (but I imagine this will take too long).
It is even possible to make this image in 1 go?
Here's an extremely simple example.. It works with a circle or a square, obviously because it has the same height and width. The problem is when you have irregular shapes, (or in this case, an oval). I know I've seen solutions to this in the past, but I just can't think of how to word this question and find them again.
I know you can create multiple strokes for an object in the appearance palette, but I'm looking for something more effective than just having colored stroke > white stroke > colored stroke> white stroke > etc.
Here's a couple examples of the kind of effect I'm looking for.
