AutoCAD 2013 :: Move 2D Objects With Basepoint To Coordinate 0,0,0
Aug 10, 2012
If i want to move 2D objekts with basepoint to the coordinate 0,0,0 - what i have to do?
In other PC older Autocad was it simply command "move", selecting objects, pointing basepoint and then typing "0,0,0" and object were there! Now the object doesnt move atall. (Can move only to showing second point in screen-but thisway its not possible to catsh exactly point 0,0,0).
If I have a dynamic block of a window. I can move either side of the block but the basepoint doesn't move. Is there a way to move the basepoint as well so its not off in space? or just delete it and have it now shown?
Somehow the objects of my dynamic block have moved away from the original basepoint.
I can't simply edit the block and move all the objects back to 0,0 because then I have to re-do all the stretch commands since the stretch windows don't move.
I have a basepoint parameter but it doesn't seem to be working.
I want to import the attached file to cypecad for structural analysis. It mandatary that lower left corner of drawing should be moved at (0,0,0). How to do that?
how can you automate the process so that photoshop always moves the layer to a certain coordiante i.e. to point X:1424 Y:2370 and not move them relatively i.e X: -372 Y: +124 but always places them to that same certain point.
I´m working with AutoCAD Map 3D 2013 on Windows 7 and when I use Coordinate Tracking I used to get fatal errors. The error occurs when trying to select a category from the list in the panel on the left. Strange enough, the error doesn´t occur when I first right-click in the list.
So a friend created a model using zbrush and exported several different *.OBJ files. I imported those to maya and added shaders. They all fit correctly together when imported.
some of those obj files required me to do a mesh->combine. so now it appears that not every item has the same reference point so that when I move or scale the entire item, some of the objects move seperately. I think it is only the ones I had to combine.
I tried freeze transformations, but when doing that, some of the objects lost their scale settings and still didnt move together as one unit.
When I insert a location in CAD2014, there is a dialog for me to chose the position, the default coordinate is WGS84, and of couse there is a list for options. but if there still have no system I need. how can I add the one into this list ?
I want to switch to relative coordinate input without using @. How is this done?
I have tried to change the settings in the Snap dialogue box, under Dynamic Input, where I have clicked on the Pointer Input, and the I have marked the Cartesian Format and the Relative coordinates.
When assigning a coordinate system to my drawing in Civil 3D 2013, the drawing does not retain the selected system.
I choose the coord system I want in Map Setup and apply it (in this case MT83IF). After applying to the drawing I go back to verify the selected coordinate system and the dialog box indicates "N/A". The only workaround I can find is to save the drawing back to an earlier version and open it on another computer in the office that is running 2011. There I can assign my coord system and then reopen in 2013 where it now shows it properly assigned.
I have tried other coord systems to make sure it isn't isolated to just the one I am selecting - and it happens with all others I try. I have also tried a repair on my install to see if that would correct it to no avail.
I have a 64 bit system and have installed all service packs to date.
By this I mean, if I set a new UCS with a new "north", can I lock it to this coordinate so it can't be changed?
Normally I would not do this, however, we're working with a company that has asked us to lay out an equipment grid on a couple sites they are setting up, as such: With 0,0 set to a predetermined point, and 100 ft increment grid laid out based off this point, using a laid out line on the site as an east-west, then creating a grid from this line and rotating it to create a "plant north."
Simple enough, except we sent them the dwg of the first one, and when they came back to us with their equipment setup, everything was inexplicably 4 degrees off and they blamed it on us. Oi...
So, yeah, to summarize, we'd like to lock our grid UCS.
We currently utilize AutoCAD for our mine mapping purposes. I recently had a seismic study performed to determine the top of salt. I asked for a .dwg file of the contours that were developed. The .dwg file they provided does not have our autoCAD map on it. They are simply contour lines. These contour lines, however, have the same coordinate system as our mine map. The surveyor and I provided coordinate data to the company to develop the contour lines. I would like to lay these contours into our mine map. How do I import the contour .dwg file into our mine map file so that they lay exactly where they should?
Before when I was creating models the origin (0,0,0) was always set in the snap point i started the line in. Now suddenly something happend and now 0,0,0 is always starting in the Original XYZ point.
I recently upgraded to Map 3d 2010 to Mapd 3d 2013 and i cannot figure out how to find the commands to insert images or import/export shp files.
I'm running 2013 in "autocad classic" and did so with 2010 as well. 2010 had a menu bar pull down called "Map" where I could insert an image (Image->Insert). There was also in 2010 a toolbar named "Map" that had import shp, export shp and assign coordinate system.
I can't find any of this in 2013. I can't even find the commands in the customization to create my own toolbar. The commands work (mapiinsert, mapimport, mapexport and ADESETCRDSYS) but i can't find them listed anywhere.
A user is having problems when using the copy command in AutoCAD 2013.
When they select objects, its not reporting on the commandline how many objects its found or keeping a running total of objects selected. Not even any duplications...
I've tested it on my machine but i cannot replicate the issue and have never come across this before!
I have a program that creates a drawing. I want to move all of the objects (lines, blocks, arcs...) from one point to another. I was using the SendStringToExecute, but it doesn't seem to work. Here is the section of code I have:
Dim newCenterX As Double newCenterX = (rightXCoord + ((leftXCoord - rightXCoord) / 2)) startpt = New Geometry.Point3d(newCenterX, 0, 0) endpt = New Geometry.Point3d(0, 0, 0) ' Move the objects from newCenterX to 0 acDoc.SendStringToExecute("._move all startpt endpt ", True, False, False) acDoc.SendStringToExecute("._zoom _all ", True, False, False)
This will select all of the objects in the drawing, but it just doesn't see the start point and end point. It just keeps prompting me to enter the start and end points manually. Is there a way to pass the variables to the command? Is there another way of moving the objects?
I have a weird issue with basic use xref in AutoCad 2012. There are two files complementary, (an elevation , one is masonry, the other windows). One is refering to the other with x-ref for a complete view (in overlay). From time to time some objects from the xref file are brought into the master file. This seems to happen randomly, like not all objects from a layer are moves for instance. These are usually blocks that are taken from the xref file. And when I discover them in the master drawing they are exploded too. So I have to clean my drawing up from all that scrap. It happen like twice a week.
I have some viewports in paper space and when I resize the view port, the objects inside move in a strange way. I don't know if a variable got reset or something but this is weird. Normally I can resize a viewport and the objects stay in the same location. But now they seem to be moving relative to the edge of the viewport.
I have AutoCAD Map 3D 2013. How do I copy/move objects such as lines and arces between layers that are in the Task Pane window, not the regular layers? I can't find the Layer Manager.
I use Acad and Turbocad selectively. I can't find a way to enable Acad to have object handlers to move and rotate objects. Is there a setting that I can enable to turn this feature on in Acad? I like this feature in Turbocad, but like to have in Acad.
