I've scoured the cui but can't seem to find where to restore the "Basepoint" selection from the Block editor's "Parameters" tab.

In my New Years' organizing spree today, I decided to split my Lightroom catalog into two separate catalogs. I didn't see an efficient way of doing this, so what I did was copy my entire catalog into a new catalog, and then I deleted (from disk) the ones that didn't belong in the respective catalog. After I deleted a few "catalog A" photos from catalog B, I double-checked catalog A to make sure I wasn't totally deleting them. . .only to later find out that I was only looking at a thumbnail. So now ALL of my photos are deleted, and I can't figure out how to restore them.
I used Time Machine to restore yesterday's version of Lightroom 4 lrcat. I created a new catalog--trying to start fresh--tried to import the photos from LR 4 lrcat. I have thumbnails, but on each it says "the file named x is offline or missing."
I also have a LR 3 catalog which houses the bulk of my years of photos since I just upgraded to LR4 a month or so ago. I tried restoring that from Time Machine as well but was unsuccessful in getting anything more than a picture that says "the file named x is offline or missing."
Although I am hopeful because I do use Time Machine, I do have a foreboding feeling because at some point when I deleted over 1000 images, I got a message that said that this action could not be undone because I was doing it to 1000+ images.
I am using LR 4.3. Using OS X 10.8.2. I am using some RAW files, others from earlier years are JPGs.
I am a Lightroom 4 user and I have accidentally deleted the catalog AND the backup folder. I am completely panicking -- is there a way to restore my catalog?
View 2 Replies View RelatedIs it just me or do the actions associated with parameters disappear on occasion from the block editor? Sometimes a regen will make them reappear, other times not. Closing/opening the block editor is one way to make them visible again (worked a few times at least).
View 6 Replies View RelatedI was preping some photos in camera raw and decided not to edit some of the images so i deleted them on the left side preview on camera raw... now they are gone completely and cannot find them anywhere. Not in the trash. I thought i remembered in the older version of adobe camera raw that if you deleted on there the image remained on the drive sorce?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI accidentally deleted the “Five Lights Up” Style. How can I restore it to the Style list in the program? “Five Lights Up” is still included in the Photoshop/Plug-ins/Filters/Lighting Style folder.
I have a backup of the C drive before deleting. Is there a file that can be replaced from the backup?
I try to setup Photoshop on my computer an error message pops up saying that an error has occured during the setup with a bunch of numbers. I don't know what to do and its really annoying because I need photoshop on my computer and it won't allow me to install it. Someone please help. Am I missing files that are needed to install it or what? Also does anyone know how to reinstall .dll files that were accidentally deleted.

I then imported these folders again into lightroom but all the edits I made orginally in lightroom don't show up for the individual photo's.
I backed up the Lightroom catalogue regularily. Is there any way I can reattach these edits to their respective photos'. There is lot of photo's involved.

If I have a dynamic block of a window. I can move either side of the block but the basepoint doesn't move. Is there a way to move the basepoint as well so its not off in space? or just delete it and have it now shown?

I then save the block using the command line or ribbon button then immediately try to close the block editor without moving or changing anything. A dialog appears saying the changes have not been saved to the block and would I like to save? If I say no don't save my changes and reopen the block the changes have in fact been saved.
My question is there a way to get around this dialog box -Suppress it like FILEDIA = 0 for block editor or an option so it doesn't ask me to save.
The goal is to do this all from the command line w/ out dialog boxes.

I have an existing title block a few text attributes, to which I wish to add a watermark. I have added it in the block editor as a normal attribute, with the same details as the other attributes that work, only a different tag name. It has a default value, "DRAFT" and is tagged "WMARK". It works fine in the Block Editor, and If I test the block I can edit it to display whatever I want, but if I save the block and open it from Autocad proper, the attribute is not in existence, either as a default value, or editable from block properties, attribute editor or title block editor, whereas all of the other attributes are there. I have used BattMan to verify the settings of the attribute, and the only difference is that the others all have "L" in the "Modes" column, but I think that means that their position is "locked" whereas my new attribute is justified "aligned" therefore cannot be "locked" (This is some assumption on my part, as the documentation on the "Modes" column is almost non-existent). I cannot afford to waste much more time on this issue, as the boss is breathing down my neck, but editing watermarks on every drawing after every revision is frustrating, when it could be an attribute that is editable from the title block editor.
I have accidentally deleted a frame option from graphics selections. I thought I was only removing it from the photo I was working with. No warning came up when I did this. I tried resetting the panel, but that did not work. I also could not find it in recent edits. Is there any way it can be retrieved and restored to the panel? It is one of a very few I might want to use in the future.

I tried to refresh layout but it doesn't work.

However if I go to it in block editor and test block it allows me to change the attributes.
Why does clicking the block go to block editor and not allow me to change its attributes as it does when I test block.
I want to move the base point of a block in the block editor. However, when I move it, the block moves accordingly in the drawing.
How can i move the base point in the editor, so that the block stays at the same position in the drawing.

I was trying to get rid of text and change it. I have no clue how to use this product but thought I would mess around with it. I think I really messed up. I clicked on the letter and then drug to the garbage can thinking I was deleting the text. It said permanently deleted and I now don't have the text option under content. How do I get it back?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to add some attributes to an existing block using the block editor, but after I save and close it I cannot see any 'placeholders' despite adding a default value and the attributes work fine when I double click the block.
I've tried using the ATTSYNC and BATTMAN commands but nothing works and there are no invisibility states applied to either the attribute or block and all layers are switched on.
I just tried making a quick block from scratch and it seems to have the same affect, except the default value will show, but no 'placeholder' shown if left blank.
I swear with previous version I could see the tag when a value hadn't been applied, so is it that the version I now use (2012) does not have this feature or it's disabled?
I have several blocks saved as separate .DWGs, some of which are dynamic. I want to review and test these blocks, but I can't find a way to open the existing block definitions in the Block Editor without first inserting the blocks into a drawing.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a question regarding parameters in a block definition, or more specifically how to constrain parameters. I have attached a PDF showing exactly what I am working on. Basically I have an arm for a monitor which I need to add some parameters to. I need to be able to have a point that I can grab where the "primary grab" is located, and when I grab that I need the arm to pivot at the indicated pivot point, but be restrained by the first arm that is constrained to the circle. Is this possible to do in AutoCAD?

The panit effects viewport flickers several times per second while sliding the stoke or brush parameters in the attribute editor. It blink once when holding down the Alt button or press the "redraw panit effects view" button in the view port. It seems like it's keeping redrawing for every change related to the parameters, and this problem is just in the panit effects mode.

Block 1 (EXTENT_OF_WORKS) and Block 2 (EXTENT_STRETCHED) are attached to file.
As is on both blocks i need a central insertion point/base point.
Block 1 has two rotate commands. The inner rotate command is to align the block so that it is perpendicular on a straight line of a route. The outer is to align perpendicularly in the case where the centre point of the block falls on an arc segment of a route.
Block 1 has also got a flip command.. to flip.
As is block 1 works well. but i also need a stretch command that can extend both ends of the block, away from the centre, at the same time. See block 2.
I have tried to complete this block in multiple ways to no avail.
I am trying to make a dynamic block below. I need the "end" of the line to be "moveable". I've tried the point parameter and the stretch action with no luck.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI am trying to create a dynamic block that allows me to insert a single rack into a drawing and make a single row of racking with all racks staying 9'-0" center of post to center of post. Also would like to be able to turn that one single row into a double row that spacing between rows can be modified. I have attached a cad file showing a single rack and two example, one of a row of double racks and one of a single row of racks. This rack is 48" deep i will also have to create this for a 60' deep rack so how i can create future rack sizes and rows.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have created a dynamic scale bar block that a user can edit two custom properties of (Horizontal Scale and Vertical Exaggeration) and the values on the scale bar will self-adjust after a regen. The block works fine if inserted into a drawing as per normal the normal insert method.
However, the issue I am running into is this:
If the block is inserted into a template drawing that contains our standard company titleblock (again this part works fine), and that layout is then imported into a new drawing using the "From Template..." right-click option on the Model/Layout tabs, the block loses the custom user parameters. Editing the block definition shows that the parameters are there, they just no longer have names or default values and do not appear in the properties window when the block is selected.
Trying to edit the user parameter names in the block definition of this imported copy of the block, just results in receiving an error that I'm attempting to use characters that are not alphanumeric.
I've tried this same procedure with 2013 and the issues still occur. I've tried user parameter names that don't have an underscore in them (just in case that was causing the issue), but again no luck.
I've attached a simpler block that recreates the same problem: Tester.dwg - this is the block that can be inserted into a drawing. It contains two user parameters "Tester" and "Tester_2". Inserting this block into a drawing shows the block works correctly (user parameters are editable from the properties window).Testing.dwg - this is a drawing that contains the above block inserted onto Layout 1. If Layout 1 is imported into a new drawing (using the "From Template..." right click option of the model/layout tabs), then the block no longer functions as it should. The two user parameters are no longer visible in the properties window.
I have created a pretty nice dynamic door block with flip parameters - size changes - and visibility parameters for jamb/no jamb. However I would like to add an option for changing the door from 90 degrees, 45 degrees and closed. I can't use the visibility parameter since I am using that for jamb/no jamb option. I was hoping to add a rotate parameter, but am having issue with the arc line. Is there a way to have the arc move with the swing in the door? If so, I can add that to the more refined door block. I have attached Drawing 2 (Door with just the rotate parameter) and Drawing3 (More refined door dynamic block without the swing option).
