deleted some xref by mistake.
is there a way to restore deleted xref or block from the database?
I deleted a folder in the library mode and now I need this folder to be back. I tried to import the hole folder again, but Lightroom didn't show me the images like there weren't any images. I think, that I didn't actually deleted the folder and that the pictures are still in the catalog. And I don't have a back up for this catalog.
View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen I first began using LR I don't think I understood the navigation correctly, because for one project, back in June, I created a folder and moved favorites (flagged and 5-starred) from other folders into that one. What I didn't realize until 5 minutes ago is that it actually moves those files on your HD as well! The folder in LR has long since been deleted and for a heart-stopping 15 minutes or so I thought all my favorite photos were gone as well.
What I found, however, was the original project folder with all my favorites on my HD. So that's okay - problem is, now when I try to bring the folders back into LR, it treats them all as new, untreated photos. It doesn't recognize them. It doesn't recognize any adjustments I've made, either. Even in Finder when I open the photos, they're all totally untreated.
My question: is there a way I can get LR to recognize those photos again? Or am I going to have to go one by one and re-do all my adjustments, keywords, and folder placement?
While editing an image in LR4, I accidentally deleted it from develpment module. I have a problem with restoring it. But I see the same image file by opening Explorer or navigating the original folder of image source. I could not re-import the same deleted image in Library module. ?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a number of layout tabs with varying layer controls applied in multiple viewports. This layout may be made up of a number of xrefs. I end up with a lot of layers in the host drawing from the xrefs, and even after I purge the xrefs to eliminate some of the xrefs, the layers remain in the host drawing, even though they no longer exist.
Is there any way to update the xref definitions to get rid of the layers without losing the layer setups I have? VISRETAIN is set to 1, and if I reset it to 0, I will lose all of the viewport controls I have put in place.
I have accidentally deleted a frame option from graphics selections. I thought I was only removing it from the photo I was working with. No warning came up when I did this. I tried resetting the panel, but that did not work. I also could not find it in recent edits. Is there any way it can be retrieved and restored to the panel? It is one of a very few I might want to use in the future.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI purchased a new computer today and also purchased PSE 12 (I had PSE 10 running on a different machine/laptop). On the laptop/PSE 10, I had about 20,000 digital on an external drive (all were tagged according to color, theme, etc via the PSE organizer). All of the elements were stored on the external drive under a folder called "digital kits". I used the PSE 10 backup utility to backup my catalog to ease the move to my new machine. After I performed the backup, I renamed the "digital kits" folder to "digital kits-glw" because I intended to just move the external hard drive to the new computer and restore the catalog to the same path, “E:digital kits”, as I have other software that is dependent upon that path.
The restore went pretty quickly, and I can see the correct folder structure within PSE 12 Organizer, but all I have is a bunch of blank thumbnails. Upon closer inspection, the restore did NOT recreate the E:digital kits folder on the hard drive as I expected. Worse, the E:digital kits-glw folder is virtually empty (just a handful of thumb.db files). So, it appears the backup process deleted/hijacked all of my files. (Note: I did NOT verify the contents of the digital kits folder before I renamed it.) Tech support is closed until Monday, and I’m just sick over the possibility of losing all that data, so I’m turning to you all.(I have a backup of the data, but without the catalog piece I would have to re-catalog all 20,000 elements!)
1. How do i restore a deleted preset from the Image Trace drop down panel. I accidentally deleted one of them and would like to restore it.... naturally . Is there anyway short of doing a complete reinstall?
2. I notice that when I scan some art, i get a double path. Meaning there's a path on both sides of the inked line. How do I get it to make one line/path for the inked line? IOW a single path with its thickness defined by the stroke weight.
I want to create an application that intensively uses dynamic blocks, cross checking any new or changed block entity with existing ones.
It needs to be almost instantaneous but the only way I know will be impractical.
Looping through the property collection of each block reference, searching for each parameter then checking for a match.
Is there some sort of database functionality I can use to quickly compare block information?
I inserted a block from a dwg drawing with the following method:
public static ObjectId InsertBlock(string fileName, Point3d insPoint) { var acadDoc = Application.DocumentManager.MdiActiveDocument; var blockId = default(ObjectId); using (var acadLockDoc = acadDoc.LockDocument()) { var dbTemp = new Database(false, true); dbTemp.ReadDwgFile(fileName, FileShare.Read, false, ""); var blockName = Path.GetFileNameWithoutExtension(fileName);
[code]........
I've scoured the cui but can't seem to find where to restore the "Basepoint" selection from the Block editor's "Parameters" tab.

I have some foreign drawings the block definition of "_ArchTick" has been changed to get a thicker tick in drawing's dimension. When I have new dimestyle and copy paste into the foreign drawings, it always use the drawing's block setting of "_ArchTick".
How I can paste a new dimstyle and bring in the block of "_ArchTick" to overwrite the one in current drawing?
I have a block with:
tag1: XX
tag2: YYYYYY
tag3: ZZZZZZZZ
I have an external file check.txt with string:
XXYYYYYYZZZZZZZZ
I would like to create a lisp program that check the attributes of block using an external database, if tag1+tag2+tag3 = XXYYYYYYZZZZZZZZ ok end program, if not make a circle on block :
How to find a given block inside a Xref.
I can run through the entire xref object and find the block - by name - but is it posibel to search direct like searching in the main drawing.
When I try to edit a particular Xref in a drawing, I get a message saying:-
Selected Xref Block is NOT editable.
Is there a setting somewhere that controls this?
I am trying to attach the client details as an xref to my title block. This is how it was done at my previous company, but I did not set that up, so I don't know how it was done.
The problem is this - when I attach the xref, I cannot see it on my page in paper space. If I zoom out as far as possible, the paper layout becomes a tiny dot on the screen. When I then draw a rectangle far to the right of the paper, I see a blue glyph on my paper, so I know that the drawing is there, but I cannot see it (the drawing is inserting very far to the right).
I would like to figure out how to insert my xref so that it shows up on my page. I have moved the information in the file to 0,0 and inserted at 0,0, but I keep having the same problem.
Drawing A has a grid system Xref-ed into it. It also has a block reference in it, repeated in various places throughout the drawing.
I Xref-ed the grid into the block to check something, and now I can't get it out. This means that the grid now repeats all over Drawing A as well and is generally being a nuisance.
If I try to unload the Xref within the block, it unloads it in Drawing A too. If I try to detach it from the block, it returns this message: Xref [Xref name] has multiple references. Not detached. If I try to detach the Xred from Drawing A, it returns the same message.
How do I unload the same Xref that occurs in a block in a drawing, and in the drawing itself, independently of each other?
i looking a way for create a block after selected a Xref.
It is for display the path+Name of my Xref.
It use fields manualy put i can copy/paste the bloc. (ObjectId not egual in a 2 dwg).
I want :
1 - selec the Xref --> I know how to do that.
2 - create a bloc --> I know.
3 - create a att -> i know
4 - fill the att with the field --> ???
How do i change color inside blocks on my xref? (much of the orginal file is builded in blocks). I need to have everything in color 8 (grey).

The red, cyan and green is blocks on the orginal file.
i am trying to set up templates at a new job and i want to create templates with an xref for the title block so when we start a new drawing, we use the template, save to the project file and everything is there with our title block already xref'd. my problem is, the path on the xref'd title block stays the same and is still referencing the location of the file i used when creating the template. if possible, when i save the new drawing to the project foldeer i want the xref to also move to the project file and the path to the xref to change.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI am working on the AutoCAD customization and doing the same by VB.Net & C#.Net. But I just want to know the difference as mentioned below:
1. Insert Block In AutoCAD
Using VB.Net without using DataBase services..Only 1 statement is required to Insert the Block objAcadDocument.ModelSpace.InsertBlock(Required Arguments are here) Using C#.Net with DataBase services
There are many statments are there to insert only 1 block..Like Start Transaction, Lock the document, Get the Object Id Block etc...So my quetion is that when I have to use DataBase services and when not
what is the advantage of doing customization using DataBase services rather than go for wihout DataBase services.?
How to update the “title block” being inserted as Xref?
I wanted to update the title block (inserted as Xref) as some changes occur in the original dwg but sounds not to work.
How the Xref is updated so that all changes in its original source can be reflected automatically?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a drawing where I have placed all of my natural gas piping. I have all of the annotative blocks set to 3/32"=1'-0" and 1/32"=1'-0" scales. They are both correctly displayed in this drawing.
When I xref this drawing into another about half of the 1/32" blocks show up correctly. The other half are shifted to the right off of the plan. All of the 3/32" blocks show up correctly.
Untill recently I have been able to edit my blocks or xref files in place. Now when I try do that CAD tells me to select nested item. Is this a setting a changed by mistake? If so what is it?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am trying to come up with a way to track a block or xref in multiple drawings. I have multiple drawings that have the same block in them and I was hoping that there was a way I could find out what drawings have the block without having to open up every single drawing.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a block tha I use in a point label style. All of the block entities are on layer 0. The label style is also set to layer 0 so that it get on the same layer as the point. I've tried setting the block color in the label at by layer and by block. When a drawing that contains this label style is XREF'ed into another drawing, the block in the label always takes on the color of the current layer.
C3D 2011, Version 3
edit: I attached an example. The top figure is the point with the block in the label and the bottom is just the block itself.
I have two dynamic blocks. One is the plan view of a cylinder and one is the elevation view of a cylinder. When I change the parameter of the OD on the elevation, I want the plan view to change. I'd like to keep them as blocks (they're a little more complicated than just cylinders), but when I try to use parametrics to tie these two dimensions together I get: "Constraints cannot be applied between nested objects in the same block or Xref."
