AutoCAD 2013 :: How To Measure Angles Greater Than 180°

Jun 27, 2013

How does one measure angles greater then 180°, using the angle in measuregeom. i have tried the "Specify vertex" but it always returns the smaller angle, it is not a problem when you use angular in dimangular and specify vertex!

AutoCAD 2013 :: Measure Annotative Dimensions

IN Autocad 2013, I'm trying to measure an annotative dimension. When I do it, it doesn't show the units along with the measurement.

For instance, it just shows up 24 when in fact I want it to say 24". Or if it was metric I would want the "m" to show up after the 24. How do I get the unit to appear?

However, I have discovered I can get coordinates, bearings etc. but no angles. How to spit out a PI report showing the turned angle for each PI?

AutoCAD Map 3D :: Unable To Plot Map With Length Greater Than 48"

Mar 28, 2011

I am running Windows 7 Professional 64 bit, plotting to HP 4500 DesignJet. If I attempt to plot an oversized map the plotter either spits out a blank page or says it plotted the map and no map prints. We have another machine running Vista 64 bit and Map 3D 2011 and it is able to plot just fine. Another machine is running XP and Map 2008 and can plot fine.

I have updated plotter drivers, settings, and I have tried plotting off several .pc3 configurations all ending with the same result. As of right now when I need to plot large maps I have to send an e transmit to my other machine in order to plot, which just isn't going to work.

AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Get Cut Volumes For Areas Greater Than 15ft Of Cut For Project

Mar 14, 2013

I am trying to get the cut volumes for areas that are greater than 15ft of cut for my project. We know that we will be able to get the top 15 feet with heavy equipment but will be drilling and blasting anything greater than 15 feet of cut. This is a different pay item, with greater cost so we need to quantify it.

I've got a composite surface that graphically shows me the elevation bands so I can see the areas that are greater than 15 feet but I'm not sure how to quantify the volumes.

Currently using C3D 2012 with the volume dashboard extension. Have 2013 installed just haven't jumped over yet.

AutoCAD 2010 :: Can't Create Greater Than Or Equal Symbol With Simple Font

Oct 6, 2009

** I have found this problem still exists ranging from AutoCAD 2007 - 2010 **

I'm trying to insert the "greater than or equal" symbol in an MTEXT box. Normally, I just grab the old trusty Character Map utility in Windows to find my symbol and copy/paste into the bext box. The funny thing this time is that it forces the font to be Arial (I'm using Simplex on all my MTEXT objects). Here's something else strange: If I change the font in Character Map to Simplex, there ISN'T a greater than or equal symbol but there IS a less than or equal symbol!

So the next thing I tried was a straight Unicode entry in MTEXT. I first tried "U+2264" for less than or equal and got my nice, simplex symbol but entering "U+2265" still forces an Arial font! Is this simply the way it is or am I missing something here?

VideoStudio :: Creating / Saving A Project At Greater Than 30fps

Mar 25, 2012

I am trying to output a project at higher than 30fps and I am failing miserably. My camera can create 1080 mp4 files at 30fps or 720 mp4 files at 30 or 60fps. I want to creat a video using 720 at 60fps (or near to it).

If I load a 60fps clip and play the clip it runs at the original frame rate. If I play the project however, it plays at 25fps. I have tried to change the project properties, but I cannot select anything higher than 25fps in mpg (or 30fps in avi). Likewise, when I create a video file I am stuck at the lower frame rate. Although I am happy with the 1080X30fps clips and projects; it defeats the object of having a faster camera.

I'm having trouble with getting quotation marks to display correctly, they look like 2 stacked >> symbols.  They change slightly depending on what font I'm using, but they all ride at the base of the text.  I cannot acheive normal looking curly or straight quotes at all.

I have tried switching smart quotes on and off in the preferences, restarting, etc.  I've noticed this problem in the past, but I thought it was the font I was using.  The same thing happens with Times New Roman.  I'm running an up to date version of PSextended CS5, 64bit on win 7 64.

VideoStudio :: Start Frame Numbers Of Chapter Greater Than Number Of Frames

Jun 5, 2013

This is regarding a error message by Video Studio Pro X5 understanding a fault message which I got after creating a DVD map. This is the original message in Dutch: "Sommige startframenummers van hoofdstukken zijn groter dan het aantal frames". 533:-2147216477:0 Translation: "Some start frame numbers of chapters are greater than the number of frames"

This was also discussed here - but I can not understand the solution: viewtopic.php?t=24055&p=120629

The situation: I have all the same video files (H.264, 24 bits, 25.000 f/s) [worked with this kind of files a couple times and worked alway very well] I have added some tekst and pictures. Total length of video is 01:50 hour. Starting the procedure DVD creating, with burning the DVD folders on my harddisc. Afther the burning proces I got the fault message.

After creating the DVD map I got the fault message (as describbed above) and found on my harddisc the VIDEO_TS folder with 5 files VTS_01_1 till VTS_01_5. The total time of these loose files is ca. 76 minutes. So I missed a hughe chunk. I got the same fault message when I have created chapters within the videofile but also when I created chapters later at the video menu.

When I do not burning a DVD folder but select creating a video file (DVD-video) than I get separated end files instead of just one big file. Maybe this has the same cause?

AutoCAD .NET :: Internal Angles Of A Polyline?

Feb 26, 2013

I have created the following code in VB.NET that i allows you to calculate the internal angle of a polyline. First delivery getting the angle of deflection, a ves obtained 180 you rest this and get the inner corner. All fine, as long as the polyline is the image-1.png. Otherwise, if the polyline is as in the image-2.png there is an error in the vertex B.

That algorithm could follow in order to comply with the correct value. Since later this data i presented it in a table of AutoCAD.

Public Shared Function AngleDeflection(ByVal pto3d As Point3dCollection) As ArrayList Dim anguloM As Double = 0 Dim vangl As ArrayList = New ArrayList For i As Integer = 0 To pto3d.Count - 2 Dim V As Integer = pto3d.Count - 2 If i = 0 Then anguloM = Math.Atan2(pto3d.Item(i).Y - pto3d.Item(V).Y, pto3d.Item(i).X - pto3d.Item(V).X) - Math.Atan2(pto3d.Item(i + 1).Y - pto3d.Item(i).Y, pto3d.Item(i + 1).X - pto3d.Item(i).X) vangl.Add(anguloM) Else anguloM = Math.Atan2(pto3d.Item((i - 1) + 1).Y - pto3d.Item(i - 1).Y, pto3d.Item((i - 1) + 1).X - pto3d.Item(i - 1).X) - Math.Atan2(pto3d.Item((i - 1) + 2).Y - pto3d.Item((i - 1) + 1).Y, pto3d.Item((i - 1) + 2).X - pto3d.Item((i - 1) + 1).X) vangl.Add(anguloM) End If Next Return vangl End Function

AutoCAD 2010 :: Dynamic Input Angles

May 30, 2012

When I create a line using dynamic input, I key in the length, TAB, and the angle.  Is there a toggle setting somewhere that will allow me to enter angles greater than 180°?   Drawing Units are set to Base angle north (270°) angles in D-M-S measured clockwise, yet dynamic input angles are measured from east (0°) both clockwise and counterclockwise.  I.E. an input of 90° gives me either north or south, depending on where the cursor is located.

Ideally, I would like to be able to enter either 225° or -135° and have the line head off to the southwest.  So far, I'm stymied and have to resort to command line entry. How to make dynamic input do what I want it to?

AutoCAD Inventor :: Dimensioning Angles In 3D Sketches

Oct 4, 2013

In the course of working up a tooling proposal, I attempted to replicate a 3D part from a customer print. While doing so, I noticed that 3D Sketch will not, under any circumstances that I can find, allow an angular dimension between a line and a plane. The customer print has two pipes projecting at odd angles from a base flange, one of which has an elbow. The print lists datum dimensions for the open pipe ends and the elbow, and gives vertical and horizontal angular dimensions to define the directions in which the pipes emerge from the flange. I have defined these three datum points in 3D space without any trouble, but Inventor 2013 will not allow me to define an angle between these sketchlines and the XZ and YZ origin planes, or between these sketchlines and the faces of the flange base I've constructed.

I am currently waiting on a proper 3D CAD model from the customer, and I'm considering longhand trigonometric calculations to place these lines properly, but I find it very hard to believe that Inventor is incapable of constraining a line to lie along what is effectively the surface of a cone.

Using:
Inventor 2013
AutoCAD 2013
