IN Autocad 2013, I'm trying to measure an annotative dimension. When I do it, it doesn't show the units along with the measurement.
For instance, it just shows up 24 when in fact I want it to say 24". Or if it was metric I would want the "m" to show up after the 24. How do I get the unit to appear?
How do I make annotative tags, callouts, and blocks non-annotative. AutoCad will not let me change them in the properties tab.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI´m trying to measure the base dimensions of simple geometric shapes. I started out with plates since they are easy to measure as long as they sit in 90°, 180° and 270° positions relative to the origin. Then Measure.ExtentsLength, Measure.ExtentsWidth and Measure.ExtentsHeight will give me the base dimensions of a plate.
However, if the plate sits abitrary relative to origin this will obviously fail, since Measure.Extents only measures in x,y,z
Is there any way how I get positions of the geometry that is in the part, like corners surfaces on the B-REP so I can calculate the dimensions properly for a plate. I´m not sure if this is possible with iLogic. I have a strong suspicion VB.net would be needed for this.
Another problem I have is that derived parts don´t get triggered to run a script when I change the geometry in the Multibody Part and the rule is set to run by any modelgeometry change.
Have been successfully using annotative dimensions for A LONG time, upgraded to 2014 and now all the dimensions have randomly been changing themselves to annotative$0 instead of annotative..Can change them back to annotative using properties but even new dimensions come in as annotative$0.

What I am trying to do is get the overall dimensions of the model and place them in a sketch block in the drawings so our machinist can easily reference the stock material. I can't figure out how to get the overall model dimensions.

View 9 Replies View RelatedIs it possible to get an annotative Dimension to print at one size for an A1 Drawing and at another size for an A3 Drawing.
E.g. I want the text in the dimension to be at 25mm in the A1 Drawing but I want it to appear at 12.5 in the A3 Drawing.
My boss wants me to look into using annotative text and dimensions for all our drawings. Currently, we have 15 different text and dimension styles depending on what scale we're using.
However, despite my extensive knowledge in most areas of AutoCAD, I have absolutely NO knowledge of how to use it.
I created all of my annotative dimensions in the wrong scale and now in layout view they are too small and can't be seen. Model space was set to 3/4" = 1'. Once I got to Layout View, I realized I did not have enough space so I needed to size down to 1/2" = 1'. How do you go about changing existing annotative dimensions to another scale? I am using 2010.

I use this application to give me precise pixel color information by rolling my cursor over the area needing color info.In addition to this information, the window also displays dynamically the x and y pixel coordinates of my cursor. good for measuring pixel dimensions of an object. This feature has now disappeared. I've upgraded to Mountain Lion..Would that have eliminated this feature with Digital Color Meter? Is there any way of using the cursor to measure pixel dimensions between two points?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI've completed my drawing (Autocad architectural 2012) and set-up my multiple view-ports (at 1:50 and 1:5 scale) on my title-block.
I'm now going to add my text and dimensions im model space....and that's when the problems start!
I've created text and dimensions in annotative style.
The issue I have is when I change annotation scale from 1:50 to 1:5 my text and dimensions in model space automatically changes (as can be seen on attachment) to a huge scale but is perfect in layout view for differing scales.
How does one measure angles greater then 180°, using the angle in measuregeom. i have tried the "Specify vertex" but it always returns the smaller angle, it is not a problem when you use angular in dimangular and specify vertex!

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm currently trying to make an MV block which is a combination of a 2D symbol and its 3D representation. I want the 2D symbol to scale in line with the annotation scale so have set the annotative flag on my symbol block but I do not want the 3D representation to scale so this does not have the flag set. However, when I put the two blocks into my MV block and then alter the annotation scale, both the 2D and 3D blocks both scale.
Is there something more that I need to be doing to to make the two blocks act independently and comply with the annotative flag set on them? I have seen this behaviour work on MEP2013 but can't see anything different on its 'devices' and my simple blocks.
Can a DIMSTYLE with annotative box checked be used in Layout or Paper Space? If so, are dimension at risk of losing their associative to part being dimension or be subject to change their Scale Factor when moving model or a different user (machine) opens the file?
View 2 Replies View Relatedso in one drawing, the annotative scales of the objects are listed as 1" = 30' etc, and in the drawing i have them xref'ed into are 1:30. the only way i can get the annotative txt to show up is to make them non-annotative.
im assuming it has to do with the difference of 1:30 and 1" = 30'.
I've got a dynamic block for an irrigation spray head that I want to make annotative. My problem is that I need to spray radius (i.e. 15', 10') to stay the same, but the head symbol and text to scale with the viewport. So far I've only been able to make the entire block annotive. I've attached a of the block for refence.

I tried already ANNORESET and ATTSYNC, and it solved at that moment. But when I close and open the file, the problem appears again. I have to apply ANNORESET and ATTSYNC every moment. How can I definitely solve this problem?
View 4 Replies View RelatedIs there a way when creating hatches, for it to ignore annotative leaders? If the line of the leader crosses the area to be hatched, it breaks at the line. But if the arrow crosses the area, it totally freaks out and won't do what it's supposed to (usually inverses what is to be hatched.)
There REALLY needs to be an option to ignore mleader & mtext objects...
Im trying to keep annotative blocks in the same spot on different scale viewports. The main issue Im having is, when i have a lets say house plan in viewport #1 and have all my blocks in place that I moved copyed from my template. When I open another viewport at a diffrent scale the blocks move. Im useing a large number of blocks for electrical symbols we use at work that I need to be in every viewport so we can copy them and place them where needed on the plan.

I got a block that contains an attribute (attached) and created on layer zero while the current annotation scale is 1:100. As this annotation scale is changed (say to 1:200 or 1:50) this block moves from its original place to another one (as shown in the attached screenshots).
I have a co-worker who needs to create a block where the attributes scale with the anno scale, but the block container does not. He's creating a tree block and wants the canopy and trunk attributes to scale without scaling the tree symbol.
Making an attribute annotative and applying the scales to the attributes doesn't seem to work if the block itself isn't annotative.
Are we missing something, or is this just not possible?
Is there any trick that bring in an annotative block into a drawing at the annotative scale you are working in, not the scale the block was created in?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI just made myself another toolpalette, and the icons/images don't show up.Well, none of the icons/images show up except for the Junction Box (J with a circle around it.)I found that the Junction Box block is the only one that is NOT Annotative. All the other ones are ANNOTATIVE (as they should be.)
In Windows Explorer, it looks like images were saved for each new block I inserted into the toolpalette, but the images are blank except for the Junction Box of course. Is there a special way you have to put your Annotative blocks into a toolpalette so the icon/image shows up??
