Is there a way when creating hatches, for it to ignore annotative leaders? If the line of the leader crosses the area to be hatched, it breaks at the line. But if the arrow crosses the area, it totally freaks out and won't do what it's supposed to (usually inverses what is to be hatched.)
There REALLY needs to be an option to ignore mleader & mtext objects...
Typically, I've mistakenly inserted some annotative leaders into a viewport modelspace instead of paperspace. Trying CHSPACE to bring them into PSpace makes them disappear - can't find them anywhere. Normal objects work fine.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am working on a drawing where the annotation scale was 1:30 and I changed it to 1:40 and all my annotative leaders no longer line up horizontally (the little line just before the text....see attached example).
Is there a way of globally fixing this issue without having to fix each one independently?
I am using annotative multileaders in model space. When I view my layout drawing in paperspace, they are not there. The layer is not turned off or frozen, the layer is set to plot. When I turn off the annotative feature, then I can see them in paper space (and plot preview).

For exemple, I shifted this tree a little bit to the left. I have a multileader pointing to the middle of it to indicate the tree species. When selecting the multileader, I can use the little blue square to move the tip of the small arrow but how can I move the other one ?
Since that multileader is pointing to other trees as well, I cannot move the whole thing.
I guess I could go to the paper space and into a viewport using that scale, but I need to do that quite often and I'm sure there should be an easier way.
How do I make annotative tags, callouts, and blocks non-annotative. AutoCad will not let me change them in the properties tab.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI use a user-defined hatch often - just 45 degree lines say 4" apart in model space. In 2009 I could make this annotative and the paper distance between those lines would remain the same as long as I made sure the hatch had the appropriate annotive scales associated with it.
In 2012 when I try to do the same thing, the hatch stays at the same Model space spacing in every viewport even though the viewports have different annotative scale AND the hatch has matching annotative scales.
I created a associative and annotative hatch for a group of objects. It displays fine and the area measures fine. When I switch the annotative scale in the lower right for the whole drawing, portions of the hatch dissapear from the boundary objects - both visually and from the area in properties, When I switch back to original annotative scale, that area is still no longer there. In essense, parts of the hatch get deleted.

I have a steel angle block cut in section with the ANSI 32 hatch pattern with a hatch scale of 2, the hatch is annotated. The block was created at 1:1. When I insert the block into my section (Anno scale @ 3/4" =1'-0")
The hatch pattern is way out of scale unless I change the annotation scale of the section to 1:1, then the hatch pattern for the block I created looks correct. I tried using the "Annotativedwg" command but I do not need the oblect lines of the block to be annotative so this did not work.
I created a dynamic block that contains a quick leader. The problem I have is when I go to my layout views the leader in the block does not show up. If I edit the block, change the layer of the leader and save it then the leader will show up in viewports. Other parts of the block are on the same layer and show up, it is just the leader for some reason.

When I open old drawings with these hatches in them, they load just fine...but I am unable to hatch any new areas with these hatches (because they are not listed in the hatch library)
View 9 Replies View RelatedWhile working in a drawing, I noticed that my leaders looked a little odd. They had ALL lost their verticies and upon further investigation I realized that the mtext is no longer attached to the leader (i.e. when you select text and grab the grip and move, the leader, text end, does not follow). Start a new leader command, and all is well with the new leader and text but the old leaders remain disconnected.
This is a new file originated in 2013. Audit was 0. Restarted AutoCad, checked a bak file and auto-save, no changes to mleader settings or attachments. I do no recall executing any out of the ordinary commands or changing settings.
I have been migrating dozens and dozens of .pat files from one version of AutoCAD to the next for many, many versions. Most recently in AutoCAD 2013 the .pat files were stored in the C:Program FilesAutodeskAutoCAD 2013SupportPatterns - worked fine. During the migration to 2014 I received an install error report stating that this subdirectory did not exist and could not be created. Alternately it stated that the new default path C:UsersUsernameAppDataRoamiongAutodesk|AutoCAD 2014R19.1enuSupport will be used instead.
At first I created the Patterns subdirectory where it could not be done automatically. No luck. Then I placed the Patterns subdirectory in C:UsersUsernameAppDataRoamiongAutodesk|AutoCAD 2014R19.1enuSupportPatterns and no luck.
I would like to change our office template to have one text style and one dimension style that shows up at 1/8" tall text in any viewport scale. This would also include setting up the multiple global settings. Is this possible?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm currently trying to make an MV block which is a combination of a 2D symbol and its 3D representation. I want the 2D symbol to scale in line with the annotation scale so have set the annotative flag on my symbol block but I do not want the 3D representation to scale so this does not have the flag set. However, when I put the two blocks into my MV block and then alter the annotation scale, both the 2D and 3D blocks both scale.
Is there something more that I need to be doing to to make the two blocks act independently and comply with the annotative flag set on them? I have seen this behaviour work on MEP2013 but can't see anything different on its 'devices' and my simple blocks.
Can a DIMSTYLE with annotative box checked be used in Layout or Paper Space? If so, are dimension at risk of losing their associative to part being dimension or be subject to change their Scale Factor when moving model or a different user (machine) opens the file?
View 2 Replies View RelatedIN Autocad 2013, I'm trying to measure an annotative dimension. When I do it, it doesn't show the units along with the measurement.
For instance, it just shows up 24 when in fact I want it to say 24". Or if it was metric I would want the "m" to show up after the 24. How do I get the unit to appear?
so in one drawing, the annotative scales of the objects are listed as 1" = 30' etc, and in the drawing i have them xref'ed into are 1:30. the only way i can get the annotative txt to show up is to make them non-annotative.
im assuming it has to do with the difference of 1:30 and 1" = 30'.
I've got a dynamic block for an irrigation spray head that I want to make annotative. My problem is that I need to spray radius (i.e. 15', 10') to stay the same, but the head symbol and text to scale with the viewport. So far I've only been able to make the entire block annotive. I've attached a of the block for refence.

I tried already ANNORESET and ATTSYNC, and it solved at that moment. But when I close and open the file, the problem appears again. I have to apply ANNORESET and ATTSYNC every moment. The main issue Im having is, when i have a lets say house plan in viewport #1 and have all my blocks in place that I moved copyed from my template. When I open another viewport at a diffrent scale the blocks move. Im useing a large number of blocks for electrical symbols we use at work that I need to be in every viewport so we can copy them and place them where needed on the plan.

Which means I have to go through every object and delete scales that should be be there....all my annotative objects appear in every view port because every annotative object has every scale..

I got a block that contains an attribute (attached) and created on layer zero while the current annotation scale is 1:100. As this annotation scale is changed (say to 1:200 or 1:50) this block moves from its original place to another one (as shown in the attached screenshots).
I have a co-worker who needs to create a block where the attributes scale with the anno scale, but the block container does not. He's creating a tree block and wants the canopy and trunk attributes to scale without scaling the tree symbol.
Making an attribute annotative and applying the scales to the attributes doesn't seem to work if the block itself isn't annotative.
Are we missing something, or is this just not possible?
Is there any trick that bring in an annotative block into a drawing at the annotative scale you are working in, not the scale the block was created in?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI just made myself another toolpalette, and the icons/images don't show up.Well, none of the icons/images show up except for the Junction Box (J with a circle around it.)I found that the Junction Box block is the only one that is NOT Annotative. All the other ones are ANNOTATIVE (as they should be.)
In Windows Explorer, it looks like images were saved for each new block I inserted into the toolpalette, but the images are blank except for the Junction Box of course. Is there a special way you have to put your Annotative blocks into a toolpalette so the icon/image shows up??
I am using AutoCAD 2014 trial version. There are no hatch patterns included that I know of. Is there any way to experiment with genuine hatch patterns, cross, brick, stone, etc.
