My girlfriend has a problem with AutoCad 2013 students version. After attaching pdf file in underlay option AutoCad crash. She's got macbook air with system version OS 10.9. She had not ever problems with pdr iunderlay before.
After loading a single 24x36 road plan and profile PDF drawing as an underlay, Autocad is so slow and jerky I couldn't work with it. The PDF file size is about 1 MB. I need to load at least 10 more, so it is a hopeless endeavor to use the PDFs. I'll have to convert them another format such as to JPG to get the job done.
How to use this functionality, but if the performance isn't greatly improved it might as well not even be included in the product.
Client of mine has been experiencing slowness with AutoCAD LT 2013.
The program works fine when working on floor plans. However when they open up any PDFs to be using as an underlay, AutoCAD LT performance on scrolling up/down left/right moves as a snails pace.
PC Specs are: Intel Xeon W3505 @ 2.53Hz, 3Gb ram, Windows 7 Pro 32-bit, nVidia Quadro FX 580
Currently about to suggest upgrading the video card to a Nvideo Quadro 2000 1Gb Video card. Would this solve the issue that my client is having the the slowness when scrolling when a PDF underlay is used.
Is there anyway to be able to edit a PDF document while the drawing it's referenced in is open?I would have thought that a PDF underlay would have worked in the same manner as an external reference does.
We use crystal reports to create reports from the drawing, export to PDF and insert back into the drawing. Then when items are released for ordering and received the PDF is stamped as such and the underlay reflects that progress in the drawing.
But if a user has the drawing open the PDF is locked for editing.
I'm using a PDF overlay which looks perfect in CAD and print Preview. When printing to PDF the quality drops to a level which is useless. I have tired increasing DPI and Quality settings but the outcome is the same.
Print Screen Of Print Preview - Notice Quality of text on the panel
Print Screen Of Actual PDF - Text unreadable...

EDIT-- It seems I can't upload an image big enough to show the issue. You'll have to take my word for it.
I'm not sure if I have a difficulty with all .pdf plots from AutoCAD, or if it mainly concerns those with .pdf underlays. I am generating some drawings usings .pdf underlays with other information added to the underlay information.
The underlay appears to be exhibit good line and text resolution. When I zoom into the overlay, I can read the information and the quality looks great.
The problem seems to be when I then plot a drawing as a .pdf. Using Acrobat to increase the zoom level, the lines and text on the drawing become very distorted and are hard to read.
I am having trouble getting a DXF underlay to plot clearly and boldly. I insert the ref to the dxf, then, in paperspace, create viewport, etc. I plot all files to pdf (seperate install) for record purposes. When plotting this file, the dxf is very faint--even though the preview is very bold and dark.
How do I accurately set the scale on a raster underlay based on 2 (or more) points where I know the distance between them?
In fact I would like to do this on 2 axes separately so that it stretches.
I am used to georeferenceing like this and getting raster underlays the right shape for the coordinate system I am using. How I can do this in AutoCAD, which used a very simple coordinate system.
We have loaded copies of AutoCAD Architecture 2013 on several workstations. We had tried brining over older profiles (from 2008)- which did not work, so made up new ones. ANYTIME we go into the profile settings to load a different profile beyond the default, AutoCAD Architecture (US Imperial), eventually while working the program will crash. We've wiped out installations of the program, registry and all, and re-installed without brining over any prior data. Same issue.
Even when using a seperate "default" profile us as (Global) or (Metric)- same issues. The problem with staying/modifying the workspace for the US Imperial is it will not load the complete menus with the MENULOAD command (only loads EXPRESS). If we work within the (US Imperial), no crashing, but again, the menus are not available within that profile for some reason, so that is not an acceptable solution.
We have just loaded the following the this order, AutoCAD2013, Revit MEP then Navis Simulate. All 2013. Everything works, including the NWC export from Revit MEP and the export from AutoCAD.The problem is that when you submit the NWNAVIGATOR command, Autocad thinks about it and then crashes out of AutoCAD. We have switched off the Hardward drivers.
I am having a problem with AutoCad 2013 crashing. While running the program when I use the open command dialog box if I re-name a file, create a folder, or copy a file autocad goes unresponsive and crashes immediately afterward. I have installed the service pack and update my video card driver trying to fix the problem. I used to be able to perform everything mentioned above in AutoCad 2010 without any problems. I don't think its my computer causing the problem because everyone else in my office is having the same issue with 2013.
I need to re-install my ACAD 2013. I get to the Product License Activation Options and have the activation code when I first installed. This time it dont work. I bet it something to do with multiple install. Error code is: 0015.11.
AutoCAD MEP 2013. Having a repeated crash when creating a 2D section view. Works great up until I place the 2D section and then crashes. I have tried using sections from Electrical and Arch palletes but same thing. I've used this tool thousands of times on other versions but this is the first time with 2013.
I am using Windows 7 64 bit laptop. When I close a drawing just after saving in AutoCAD 2013 64 bit, the program crashes. This will happen with one drawing open, or several. I also had this problem with 2011.
I have been using AutoCAD for 16 years and never had this problem with previous versions on earlier operating systems.
I've been crashing (fatal error, unhandled access violation) a LOT lately, and it happens when I'm changing between tabs - both between layout tabs and from layout to model. I have a brand new computer and a recent install of AutoCAD, which I also ran the repair routine on recently to try to fix the crashing issue. This happened with my old computer as well, and our IT people thought maybe it was too old to handle AC 2013 (old one was about 7 years old), so now I'm running an HP Compaq Elite 8300, Win 7 OS, with an Intel i5-3470 CPU at 3.2 GHz, 8 GB of RAM, and an NVIDIA NVS 300 graphics card. And it still crashes.
I'm using files that were created on my old CAD station, which ran AutoCAD 2008 LT, and it started crashing on me - I suppose it's possible that one or more of those files got corrupted and that's what's causing this. It's crashed three times in the last three days, and probably a total of 10 - 15 times since my new computer came in late last month, and I'm getting pretty tired of it.
After upgrading/switching my stand alone license from Civil 3D 2011 to Map 3D 2013, my computer is crashing before a complete opening of some larger dwgs (1575 KB). Sometimes I get an Out of Memory message.Other (much smaller) drawings open fine. The switch from Civil to Map was made because we were not using any of the civil bells and whistles that make it unique.
Map suits our needs. We use shp files (data connect) to generate most of our work.I can use another computer in our office that has Map 3D 2011 and am able to open up any of the drawings with no problems. Because I had no issues with Map 3D 2011, I thought moving up to 2013 would be "easy".
We have a subscription and every couple of years try to load up the latest and learn to live with it.Now I am wondering if we can all just go to Map 2011 and forget 2013.
The big problem is that when am doing whatever work, the program stop working and show a error message, that says: ERROR FATAL: Unhandled access violation writing 0x000 exception at 70601612h

And it happens when i'm on any kind of views or after printing..
My Pc is an: Intel Core i3-2100 CPU @ 3.10GHz
4gb Ram
Windows 7 ultimate x64 bits
I DON'T HAVE AN VIDEO CARD. I use the one that provide the Motherboard.. Thats Intel HD Graphic 2000
getting consistent crash when clicking on "new" in page setup manager dialog box.
Happens regardless of which drawing is open. Even for new blank drawings. This prevents me from creating new pagesetup overrides for Publishing. MAJOR PROBLEM.
At this point I have to get other people in the office to create new page setup for me. Editing existing page setups works find, only the "new" setups are a problem.
AutoCAD 2013 (G.114.0.0 SP 1.1), Windows 7.
Also, AutoCAD internal crash reporter is not called. Goes direct to Win 7, "Application has stop working" dialog.
A colleague was working on a drawing yesterday in AutoCAD 2013 when it crashed. Since then the drawing has refused to open in AutoCAD 2013. It also does not open Trueview. It will however open in previous version of AutoCAD. We tried to export it to .dxf as well but they are corrupt. We also tried to attach it to a new drawing as an Xref and as a block, both were met with an instant fatal error and the closure of AutoCAD.
We have tried auditing, purging, resaving, using backs-ups. None of them will open in AutoCAD 2013 any more. The drawing closes without attempting to open with no error messages. It just loads up the default drawing(x).dwg.
We use 2012 primarily, and I finally installed 2014 on 2 different machines. Both work ok until I load the 2012 profiles. Then, AutoCAD wont even start after you close and re-open. We use a lot of custom lisps and menus that i need loaded into 2014.
I have no this problem for version before Inventor 2013, just start from this lates version.
I models a ballet bar assy in 2'6" width with derived sketch, then I used DA to copy all the files with new name in 4'. After that, I tried to open the new files, it crashed itself, no matter I open a part or assemble.
But if I changed the derived sketch name back to its original, everything is fine for new files.
I attahced the zip file, try it. If it crashes, just change file: BALLET BAR 4ft_SKETCH
I recently gave my windows a factory restore (fresh start windows original copy), I had no issues with autodesk software before the windows fresh start (i use Revit and 3Dmax too), i even installed and used Autocad 2014 on my laptop before the restore and it ran just fine, problem is now after the windows restore Autocad crashes everytime i open it, installation was smooth and succesfull with no error warninings whatsoever; the problem comes when i start Autocad 2014 for the first time, the initialization window opens and starts loading the files but then (everytime) crashes and freezes my laptop forever, not even the task manager is posible to open
after the restore i downloaded the latest drivers for my graphics card, so that shouldnt be the issue, i also switched the processing tu GPU only.
i already tried lots of solutions i saw on other posts, but none seems to suit my need, i tried the .NET framework thing, switching off the windows Aero theme, but the problem remains the same, it still freezes completely my laptop everytime i try to run Autocad 2014, i even tried installing Autocad 2013, Autocad 2011 and Revit 2014 but the issue is the same in all of them they freeze at startup without any pop up error warnings, just freezes.
I want to know if it is possible to creat a script that will rotate the cam wheel show at the pivot point, while causing the rectangle to oscillate up and down in cadence with the ppoint of the whell that is contacting it.
I have a simple script that rotates the cam wheel, but every time I run it, AC crashes. I am on Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit and I have installed the latest service pack. Here is the script:
rotate g 1
45.5447,44.7299 1 rscript
I'm not sure what other information you may need to diagnose this, so just let me know. There is no error message given, it just freezes up.
Some times it happens that when I make an orbit to a 3d model it seems that Autocad could not process it and it shoots down with a fatal error message. This is occuring quite often. why is this?
