Dec 27, 2012I'm working in one of my colleagues drawings and whenever the drawing is regenerated (for instance when panning or orbiting) I get the message "Failed to open record!".

AutoCAD Map 3D :: DWG Files - Failed To Open FDO Connection
Aug 3, 2011I have some dwg files, shp files, images, and sdf files in my C: . I am using AutoCAD Map 3D 2011. When I try to open one of the dwg files it is showing a warnng message "Failed to open FDO connection".

Jul 23, 2013A co-worker and I came in this morning and both of our inventors are giving us this Faild to Open error. We run on single user accounts and we do not use vault. I then tried to backup all of my documents, but it would not let me backup either. I did a properties on the folder and it showed everything was read only. I click off read only and it let me backup. But still will not let me open a model part or assembly??? I tried turning off Avast and that did nothing either.We are still running 2008. Inventor and Autocad.

AutoCAD 2013 :: Copy To Clipboard Failed
Feb 17, 2013Whenever I select some objects in an AUTOCAD drawing and Press Ctrl+C to copy them for taking it to any other file, it gives error "COPY TO CLIPBOARD FAILED."
However, this error is not for all the files but in some of the files. After much tweaking and researching on my own, I found out that this happens in files in which I have set viewports in LAYOUT. When i delete the entire LAYOUT by right Click + Delete, and then go to MODEL and do Ctrl+C, the copy to clipboard happens in normal way.
Why do I get the error when I have set viewports in LAYOUT ?
AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Adding Image From WMS Error - Failed To Open FDO Connection
Jun 12, 2013When attempting to attach WMS data, Map Task Pane>Display Manager Tab>Data>Data Connect dialog>Data Connections by provider.
After entering the server name or URL and choosing "connect" I get the following errors:
"Failed to open FDO connection"
"The HTTP request URI was not found by the server"
It seems to work just fine for other users using the same steps.

Aug 23, 2011We have stored lisp in fileserver which 30 users can access it. Now a day some users have getting the ‘failed to open project’ error after load the Lisp due to this they r also not getting most of the commands. The full rights have been given to appropriate folder which contains (Autolisp application source file, .vlx, Autocad VBA source). It has working for limited users (8-10 users).
Server OS: Windows server 2008
Note: Previously we had used windows server 2003.

Nov 24, 2012Using ACAD 13 in Windows 8, when I use 3DCONFIG and check for updates I get the Performance Tuner Failed To Update error message. In the Knowledge Base there is a fix but it doesn't apply to ACAD 13 as the file names are different. Which file I need to change the permissions on in ACAD 13 and in what folder it may be hiding.

The file was originally created with Autocad 2010 in 2011. i would post the file but it is a customer print and i cannot disclose it here. we are now running up-to-date autocad 2013. this is not a problem with other files i have had to work with (older and newer). just seemds to be a localized event and am wondering if it is that something is corrupt.
AutoCAD 2013 :: VIEWBASE - Inventor Server Failed To Load
Oct 23, 2013when I try to use the VIEWBASE command to create views from my 3D solids, I always get the message "inventor server failed to load" and the command stops. I am using AutoCAD 2014 with SP1 installed on windows 8 .
In a similar message in the 2010/2011/2012 discussion group: URL....
it is suggested to reinstall the software, but this is not working for me.I have already tried to 'repair', 'reinstall' and completely remove all the software and then reinstalling it, but nothing seems to fix this problem.
Are there any other programs I need to have installed to get this command to work?

Sep 25, 2012Starting a new Mold Design. When I try to place my part, I get an error message that says... "Errors occurred during create. Plastic part: Create Failed."
How do I determine what the problem is with my part I'm trying to bring in? This was a part that was brought in from a .step file, then saved it as a .ipt. No problems that I can see with the .ipt, but Inventor Mold does not like it for some reason.

Jan 8, 2014I have Lightroom 4 and as soon as I click to open the lightroom 4 application and message box pops up saying "assertion failed!" and then it doesn'tt open the program. I was working earlier but then my laptop has a bad battery and when I was editing in lightroom 4 my laptop shut off without warning (same thing as just pulling the power cable out of the outlet of a desktop when its on without shutting it off first). But anyways I have windows 7 and so I can get back to work. I was also hoping that I could fix this issue without erasing all the editing I did and all the pictures I have in lightroom.

Dec 13, 2010I've been using VideoStudio Pro X2 for the past 2 years and it has been working just fine since, up until mid last week. I was rolling right along, creating MPEG-2's of the Classic 39 Honeymooners episodes, until I got up to Episode 24, when I started getting the 'Failed to open the MPEG encoder' error message. I searched through this forum to find any possible solution and the only solutions I found were to check to see if the MPEG-2 encoder CODEC is installed, which it appears to be according to the InstalledCodec utility and to uninstall/reinstall VS, which I did. I still receive the same error message, however. What could cause it to go from working one moment, to not working the next?
I tried to attach a text file listing all of the installed codecs on my system, so you can look to see if the needed codecs are installed, however I was unable to attach the file...says 'extension not allowed'. How to upload the file.
VideoStudio :: Error Message - Failed To Open MPEG Encoder
Jun 29, 2011I completed a video and when I went to 'Create a Video File' I would receive the following error message...
"Failed to open MPEG encoder"
I'm using Ulead VideoStudio 11+. The 'vsp' file is too long...One hour fourteen minutes. I made a 'Part 1' and cut the vsp to forty-five minutes and still received the same error message.
I cut the 'vsp' to one minute thirty seconds and it would "Create a Video File'. I've never had this problem before.
It seems with Ulead VideoStudio 11+ whenever I have a problem like this I can resolve it, by backing up all the files, then removing the program, thoroughly clean the hard drive and re-install 11+.

I'm using Ulead VideoStudio 11+ and when I try to render a completed video to a file I receive this error message. The video is a little large, one hour fourteen minutes, so I cut it in half, saving it under a different name and it still gave me the same error message. However, if I render a very small clip then it renders as it's suppose to.
I've never had this trouble before. I reloaded the software for 11+ but that didn't work.

Jan 28, 2013I have one of the Promise R6 drive arrays that has failed on me but fortunately it hung in there long enough for me to back up all my data. My questions is once my new array shows up can I copy all the data onto the new drive with all the same folder hierarchy and will it all work fine with smoke again as if nothing changed?

Dec 28, 2012Autocad MEP 2013 was working fine until I installed SP1 yesterday.
Now when type in open the dialog comes up (not a filedia issue). When I click the "look in" pull-down in the open dialog it goes blank and I am unable to browse any folders. I've tried rebooting.. Should I reinstall?
