AutoCAD 2010 :: How To Change Number Of Lines In Quick Properties Box
May 2, 2012My quick properties palette is only showing about 4 lines...(actually about 4.2 lines - explained below)
I've already changed the minimum number of rows to 20, under 'Palette Behavior', under 'Quick Properties', 'Drafting Settings', and' Tools'.
I've closed and reopened Autocad several times since i've set this, but QP box will still not show more than 4 complete lines.
I've also gone to the CUI and changed the number of attributes i want to show for each different kind of entity, so i know it's not because i dont have enough lines to show....in fact, i can see a bit of the next line....i just can't drag the window any bigger!

For example I have 10 blocks at various intervals and I want to pick up the centre line position of each block to show the dims between each block centre.

May 27, 2007The pic on the right shows what I'd like to change. Problem is the borders can be tedious to do one line at a time. That is brush set at 1 pixel wide-dark gray. Then draw one map line. Then change to light gray to do center of line then draw right next to other line without messing alignment up. Then finally going back to dark gray to draw once again to other side of border line.
What would take a pro 5 minutes because he would know the shortcuts would take me hours to do these map changes. So could anyone tell me how to create a custom brush 3 pixels wide that would have the center pixel be lighter gray while the outer 2 pixels of line would be darker. I know how to use color picker to match with what's already in the game so you could skip that. I would just like to know how to create a custom brush that could do multiple colors in one stroke. I'm using XP and CS2 BTW. If anyone would like the targa files that make up these 3 regions in the game to mess around with I will send them.
AutoCAD 2010 :: Quick Access Toolbar / Drawing Area?
Sep 11, 2012Instance 1. I have lost the Quick Access Toolbar located above the ribbon to the of the right of the application menu button. I can no longer save a drawing and no longer undo or redo any commands that I need to edit while creating a drawing.
Instance 2. I created a drawing saved it and then later came back to it. Went to Veiw tab then clicked the Tile Vertically button. My drawing on one half of the screen and a blank one on the other half. I X out of the screen and started the drawing once again and the drawing area is now labled Drawing1.dwg with a blue square border around the drawing area. With no split screen. I would like to get back to the original drawing area without the blue border going around it titled Drawing1.dwg. I was trying to use the move command to get my drawing into the empty space next to it.

Apr 17, 2013I am hoping to link text items between pages and items in the drawing such as elevations?
So, ideally, I would have a front page to my drawing set, and this would have a 'Contents' type table on it, with the title name of each drawing in one column, then the drawing number in the next column. This is the tricky bit, someone must know: If i was to change the name / number of any item in this table, could it change also (linked to) the following items:
Drawing title (as a text idem on the layout sheet that that drawing relates to)
Drawing number (as a text idem on the layout sheet that that drawing relates to)
Elevation call-out (on the plan view)
And possibly:
Excel reference cell
Drawing layout tab title (this might be pushing it!!)
Perhaps this could be done by linking to an external Excel spreadsheet with these titles modified in there? I'm not sure. This would be ideal as typing into excel is a lot easier than the triple click text modify method required currently.
I waste a lot of time renaming and updating sheet names / titles / numbers. Are there standard templates for drawing sets that may have this built in available anywhere that I could try?

Jan 20, 2011I am using the sheet list table to generate a table of contents. I add the "Drawing Revision Number" column to the table, but when it generates the list it does not include the field.
Is there any way to add the "Sheet Revision Number" instead since this is what property is actually adjusted in the sheet's properties? (i never change the "Drawing Revision Number")
OR is the solution to change the "Drawing Revision Number"? Where do I change this property at? Is this property applied to all sheets within a drawing?

I have copied the DIN 625 bearings to the custom library. I have added required info to File Name building and to the Part Number building in the custom library and now my Filename and Part Number are as I like to.

Apr 12, 2011I have one user who cannot plot correctly from his workstation. All of his drawings will be missing information when they are plotted although they look perfect in the print preview. For example, at the bottom of every drawiing, he puts in a single text block: "Drawn by: SLM" and sometimes the 'S' in his initials won't get plotted, etc. He can save any of those drawings to a shared drive and plot them from a different workstation and there is no issue. We are using AutoCAD Map 3D 2010 on Windows 7 32bit.

If I click move face, then I have to click every face that I want to move (which is time consuming) and then it often times doesn't work? Dec 16, 2013I don't know about others having drawing that either have DGN trash like linetypes or (Cells) blocks that seem to not purge out even if you use the regular wblock command.
And if you go to purge and toggle "View items you cannot purge" you see them.
You want to clean the drawing and you want to keep all your paperspace tabs so you will end up with a clean drawing.
1) use the command -wblock
2) enter a new name
3) enter * (that will tell Autocad to create a new drawing with everything in it)
4) close the old drawing don't save and open your new clean drawing with all your paperspace tabs, your done!

Mar 12, 2012I have a drawing containing over 100 blocks with 8-10 attributes each. I want to align all the attribute text without rotating the associated blocks. I can select individual attributes by holding down the Ctrl key while I select each attribute. Then I can change the text angle in a pop-up dialog. Is there a quicker way to select all the attributes without having to click on each one? Remember that I do not want to rotate the whole block, just the attribute text.

Jun 4, 2012I am updating a user to ACADM 2010 from R14. His actual R14 menu was customized so that the menu bar shows 'File' 'Drawings', 'Options', 'Edit', 'View', etc. from left to right. So far I have been able to get the 'Drawings' and 'Options' added to the classic 2010 menu.
However, the 'Drawings' and 'Options' show clear the right of 'Help' (see attachment). I need to get them moved over to a position between 'File' and 'Edit'.
These are drop downs with 5 to 6 levels. Having them on the right makes them look very messy because the cross back and forth.

Feb 13, 2013I added the Layer group (On / Off Freeze Lock / Unlock and Layer name) to the Quick Access Toolbar. I only see the first part name of the layer. Is there a way to stretch this part of the group in the QAT tool bar so I can see the more of the layer name? The partial name and layer color may be a sufficient clue as to the whole layer name over time. Would be nice to see the whole name until then.
