Quick dimensioning a number of blocks doesn't work. Is there a way to do this without exploding the blocks.
For example I have 10 blocks at various intervals and I want to pick up the centre line position of each block to show the dims between each block centre.
Is there a quick and easy way to number items in a drawing? I have attached a pdf and would like to number the seats 1-100.

I've already changed the minimum number of rows to 20, under 'Palette Behavior', under 'Quick Properties', 'Drafting Settings', and' Tools'.
I've closed and reopened Autocad several times since i've set this, but QP box will still not show more than 4 complete lines.
I've also gone to the CUI and changed the number of attributes i want to show for each different kind of entity, so i know it's not because i dont have enough lines to show....in fact, i can see a bit of the next line....i just can't drag the window any bigger!
I thought for certain that justification FIT option worked for Attribute definitions.

Although I downloaded and installed the Microsoft Visual Basic for Applications Module 32bit (from URL....), the printing Plug-in can not work with autocad 2010.the commands from the plug-in cannot be recognized.

I have a 3d drawing file which I manually flattened except the section. The ground plan is at 0 Z axis.
Now I am trying to draw lines on top of it, and I cannot extend my lines. Any solution to this?

I also had some difficulties when I was trying to flatten the 3d model. "Flatten" command did not work. I understand Flatshot did not work because these are not solids. But why Flatten did not work? That was why I had to manually change start and end of z position.
I'm using ACAD (2011) most of the time in 3D. I like to work that way and it goes really fast!
Now, sometimes I want to flatten my 3D drawing and show my obscured lines and make them dashed afterwards. With the flatten command and explode it works fine... but... some lines just move! For example, a block with size 100,200,100 turns into a square with size 100.9 x 199.3, even if I use the command in 100% top view!
Publish comment doesn't work correct. Even if I set multi-sheet file and prompt for name, autocad doesn't ask me about file name and makes single sheet files.

Is there another way to do this or do I have to redraw the multileaders?

I recently upgraded to 2011 from 2008. I remember I had to configure something in 2008 to make block geometry selectable as it pertains to selecting for dimensioning. Example: I have a block inserted and want to show some of the dimensions without doing it in the block editor or exploding the block. I have searched, googled and looked at the Options panel in 2011 but cannot find how to do this. I seem to recall there was a variable to turn on or off but can't remember for sure.

If I dimension in a viewport, these dims appear on other view ports (referencing info at different scales) I thought I can write text and dimension specific to view port even if information repeated around sheet.
Secondly, if i have the above situation of my detail at 1:10 then more at 1:5/1:2, I want the hatch scale to be uniform in all viewports. What is the setting (so if hat5ch lines 2mm apart in 1:10 then I want them 2mm apart in the 1:2 as well.

I am trying to get back some of my work that was "lost" when a crash accured. I had 16 blocks (all the same) inserted into my map at the correct locations. I recovered the drawing but noticed that the blocks weren't displaying. I conducted a quick select for the layer which they're on; it stated 16 items were selected (but they are not displaying). While they are still "selected" I checked the properties & it stated all the correct information (quantity, block name, color, layer, scale, etc...). I made sure all layers associated with the block were not frozen. So it's acting as though they're still in the drawing, but aren't displaying...
View 1 Replies View RelatedAll of my block updates work just fine when I use them in MEP 12, but we have a couple of drafters working in vanilla AutoCAD & for some reason the same commands/ blocks/ settings (same exact file even) that work in MEP do not work in regular ACAD.
Now they do "work" - the commands/ block insertion - but the annotative adjustment (i.e. 1/4" to 1/8" to etc) do not work until I select the block and add the desired scale to its annotative object scale list - why is this necessary? it isn't in MEP? The blocks work/ act properly annotatively once inserted and adjusted as mentioned above, but again, why? Why? Why is this necessary? All of the scale are in the block file as it resides in my block folder...?

I have various blocks with a letter assigned to them as a type. Problem is that some blocks are the same one but have a different letter as an attribute.
Is there a way to extract the number of blocks by a different attribute?
in case of replacing a component in an assembly the present item number in (structured) BOM table is reassigned through a new one. This cause a lot of troubles in our firm, because this requires rework of item numbers after each replace action. I expected that especially in case of an replace of all occurrences, the item number is kept. Is there a setting to keep item numbers after a component was replaced?

I'm trying to cut out a selection using Quick Select (all refine edge settings off) and then paste into a new layer. However, I can't get a 100% pixel perfect alignment once I paste. Cut/Paste using the rectangle select does match 100%. The quick select tool should allow for 100% pixel perfect alignment, correct?

I have Created a Block which has got some 12 attributes , when i invoke insert command and insert the Block , It was displaying only first 8 attributes , then when i click next the remaining four attributes were displayed under the previous inputs which i have given .
that is for eg : If i have attributes named a,b,c,d,e,f,g,h,i,j,k,l .
In the first dialog box it asks

so inputs for e,f,g,h and all given already but it was displayed
again so i need to press tab key for 4 times and come to input "i = " and so on
I don want this to happen. i want it either all 12 prompted in single dialog box or
atleast no repetition of prompts.(8first&4alone in next)
And i already knew about the System Variable attdia & i dont want to give input via command prompt

View 2 Replies View RelatedSomehow, the little triangle that opens and closes the Quick Develop Module in my Library has become solid, so it no longer pops the menu open when I glide my cursor over to the right side of a full screen image. How do I get the Quick develop module triangle to have that shadow look again so that when I glide the cursor to it the module opens.
I must have changed this with a keystroke or something but for the life of me I cannot get it back and it's driving me crazy. I do not like the module open all the time and it's a pain to use the keystroke or click the triangle each time I need to make a quick adjustment. I hope this is not an upgrade change. I notice it is the same in my develop module.
I have a drawing containing over 100 blocks with 8-10 attributes each. I want to align all the attribute text without rotating the associated blocks. I can select individual attributes by holding down the Ctrl key while I select each attribute. Then I can change the text angle in a pop-up dialog. Is there a quicker way to select all the attributes without having to click on each one? Remember that I do not want to rotate the whole block, just the attribute text.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI use Quick Properties in static mode mostly for counting objects and quickly seeing the length of lines and polylines. These lengths are listed in feet and inches. Would it be possible to add an additional length item to the quick properties menu which shows the inches/decimal length? Would be awesome as I wouldn't then have to do the math to convert to inches.
