I'm trying to cut out a selection using Quick Select (all refine edge settings off) and then paste into a new layer. However, I can't get a 100% pixel perfect alignment once I paste. Cut/Paste using the rectangle select does match 100%. The quick select tool should allow for 100% pixel perfect alignment, correct?

I remember being able to select anything on the canvas with my Quick Select tool in CS5.5 Photoshop Extended. Recently, making the switch to CC, the Quick Select tool will show my slection as I drag along the canvas, but once I release the mouse, the selection seems to be reduced to the visible pixels. I was intentionally trying to fill the transparent sections with my effects as well.

Mind you, the magic wand will select transparent pixels just fine, but it also adds unintentional sections which is irritating. I should probably also pint out that I already looked into the "lock transparence" option in the layers, but I did not activate anything of the sort.
In Quick Select command function, I want to use more properties value to select one type text or other object.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI'm running Photoshop CS4 on Vista with 4G RAM. Even when working on a relatively small picture (34M/69M), I get an error when trying to use Quick Select. The message says "could not complete your request because there is not enough memory". I am not running any other applications and I am allowing Photoshop to use 80% of my RAM. I have a 700G scratch disk. What gives?

View 1 Replies View RelatedThe Quick Select Tool is great at selecting irregularly shaped objects with well-defined boundaries, and the Refine Edge dialogue box is good at making small, important adjustments to complex "soft" borders like a person's hair. But what I most often need to do is isolate a figure that has good contrast against part, but not all of its background. Imagine a person in a tan shirt standing partly in front of a dark green bush and partly in front of a tan house. The QST will be great for the bush, but it always explodes the selection to the house or cuts the guy's arm off.
Is there a way of getting more or less the selection I want, and then using the plain old lasso tool to add or subtract finer manual selection?
My color settings are synchronized across all CS applications. I'm trying to see document both as a soft proof and not. Neither mode improves the color differences I'm seeing on screen. Photoshop displays color TOTALLY differently from all other CS applications: Bridge, InDesign, Illustrator & Acrobat.

In the image below, Indesign is on the left. Photoshop is on the right. Image appears in Bridge, Acrobat and Illustrator just like InDesign.
i've checked my monitor screen-up...everything is set to "standard". adjust Ps-CS6 image...it looks swell. print the bad-boy on my Epson NX430...and the image looks dark. or like mud. or too bright.

View 10 Replies View RelatedEvery time I use Quick selection tool it selects the area which I don't want to use. I have a website called JoGuru Social Travel Network for which I need to edit it's logo. Now since the logo has many green and blue variation IÂ can't select the area I need.

I thought of changing the color of logo so that it looks refined but green color signifies travel and i can't think of using any other color. It would have been easy to pick other color. For me Green is God. I must use that only. I also need to encorporate small road in it that defines journey to infinity. This tool use to work well before. It's giving me problem for the first time.
On one computer when I select my selection tool I have a circle with a + inside or - whichever I choose to select or deselect an object. BUT, on my other computer I have a large cross hair type thing and I can't tell whether I am selecting or deselecting... what the heck is going on!!

It works pretty well but Im still having trouble in some spots getting the edge to be a smooth curve.
How do you get the refine edge function to allow you to modify its edge so you can have a perfectly smooth edge?
Ive tried using the Refine Radius Tool and it just doesnt smooth it out completely.
I have a drawing containing over 100 blocks with 8-10 attributes each. I want to align all the attribute text without rotating the associated blocks. I can select individual attributes by holding down the Ctrl key while I select each attribute. Then I can change the text angle in a pop-up dialog. Is there a quicker way to select all the attributes without having to click on each one? Remember that I do not want to rotate the whole block, just the attribute text.

If I go back to any prevous version of AutoCAD it works fine the only solution i can think of is to reinstall.

Worked with an earlier version of Photoshop which had , well much more than I needed before.
But there are some basic things that, if because of how I work and the speed I am used to with the 'flow' of things, I will not remain on PS and go back to psp if this is not possible. Seems like software is going backwards but I disgress
Issue: I want to be able to print screen, and then jump into PS and just click anywhere on the gray area and paste the scrnshot as a new image or hovering selection onto a current image without having to open a new window to the size of the image.
Also - The zoom tool is VERY annoying in PS. I'm used to being able to just use the mouse wheel to zoom in, fix something , then quickly zoom out to check the validity of the fix...or zoom back in and repair the issue further etc etc. Is this not possibly also?
I REALLY need AT LEAST these two functions to work like this. Everything else I will muttle through unless there is 30 steps to do what I could do in 5 in psp which from what I hear I doubt.

When I import a particuar video clip into premier, there is a problem with the audio. It plays absolutely fine until 9 minutes through when all of a sudden the audio loops back to the beginning. The video carrys on as normal untill the end of the clip but the audio starts from scratch. I have tried removing the video, renaming, moving location, starting a new project, but no matter when or how I play the video the audio starts again 9 mins through! The video plays fine in any media player except premier. I have tried exporting the video but unfortunately the audio error also gets exported. The clip is crucial to a video I'm making and can't be re-shot!

I've found several people that had this problem through searching, but none of the fixes worked for me. I'm unable to use the quick select feature as it does not list anything other than "multiple". I've tried different files, different selections, repaired the installation, complete reinstall, updated with SP1 and hotfix 3 to no avail. I also have Autocad 2007 with SP 1 installed, as well as Autocad Architecture 2014, if that makes a difference.
Units percision is at 1/64".
I have a custom text style set to a height of 3/32"
I have a custom mleader style set to mtext with text set to that style.
The text height setting in the mleader style dialog is 3/32" and grayed out.
Why create an option and then block us from using it?
All new mleaders are being created with a text height of 1/8". Â Why?

I am using Inventor Professional 2013 what im trying to do is create a flat pattern so I can send out to get formed. I need the panel to be 7.75" Width 53.50" Height and 2" Depth. When I click unfold where the 45deg is, it doesnt match up with the bend. Im not sure if its supose to be like that or what lines i need to keep to get the correct mesurments.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to plan an access road which must run at least 2.5m away from an existing fenceline. I've put a few parallel road lines in at 3m distance, but at the fence bends I decided to put some circles at the bend points to give me a 3m radius. When I did this I was suprised to find that the circle extends further than my access road. I've dimensioned them both up, CAD is telling me they're both 3m away but they're clearly not at the same distance.
View 9 Replies View RelatedIt's my first time using SSA, and I had finally created a network and storm that I thought was working properly (using TR-20 routing with an SCS II storm), until I took a closer look at the profile outputs - and noticed that the graphed Max HGL line does not match the Max HGL listed in the table below. The difference was 856.2 on the graph and 858.01 on the table at one my structures, for example.
The ability to import pipe networks is nice in SSA, but if the output data is always this wacky I may have to go give up on SSA and go back to using Hydrocad.
I've been rendering lossless files in after effects for a year now without any problems. Now all of a sudden when I render .mov files, the playback is frayed and jumpy... audio doesn't match, etc. I've tried rendering lower then upper fields and vise versa, and both at once. nothing works.
