I just tried to use the quick select feature by right clicking in my drawing but it is not selectable as the words "quick select" are greyed out. I tried restaring my PC but this hasn't fixed it.
If I type QSELECT the quick select box pops up but I don't want to have to type this every time I want to use this feature
I have a drawing containing over 100 blocks with 8-10 attributes each. I want to align all the attribute text without rotating the associated blocks. I can select individual attributes by holding down the Ctrl key while I select each attribute. Then I can change the text angle in a pop-up dialog. Is there a quicker way to select all the attributes without having to click on each one? Remember that I do not want to rotate the whole block, just the attribute text.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI remember being able to select anything on the canvas with my Quick Select tool in CS5.5 Photoshop Extended. Recently, making the switch to CC, the Quick Select tool will show my slection as I drag along the canvas, but once I release the mouse, the selection seems to be reduced to the visible pixels. I was intentionally trying to fill the transparent sections with my effects as well.
Mind you, the magic wand will select transparent pixels just fine, but it also adds unintentional sections which is irritating. I should probably also pint out that I already looked into the "lock transparence" option in the layers, but I did not activate anything of the sort.
I am looking to see if I missed a setting somewhere. I have hunted extensively, but the ability to set a view to a specific layer seems to be unavailable. What I woudl liek to be able to do is define the layer that the viewport is inserted on when I bring a view into a sheet using the sheetset manager. I love this system, but it does slow me down in that regard. If there is a setting or preference that I can switch to make that happen or am I going to have to write something to do it for me.

If I go back to any prevous version of AutoCAD it works fine the only solution i can think of is to reinstall.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI am trying to convert a fairly simple logo to a vector for printing in t-shirts. When I did it years ago, I used live trace and emailed it off to the printer and it worked fine, this time, using the lastest version of ai, the printer keeps saying it is not a vector, despite using live trace.
The printer's website says to "place" the logo, use "select all" then use "outlines." I can place the logo, but can't select all, I try alt A and it just beeps at me.

I've found several people that had this problem through searching, but none of the fixes worked for me. I'm unable to use the quick select feature as it does not list anything other than "multiple". I've tried different files, different selections, repaired the installation, complete reinstall, updated with SP1 and hotfix 3 to no avail. I also have Autocad 2007 with SP 1 installed, as well as Autocad Architecture 2014, if that makes a difference.
My filter Gallery option is Greyed out and I cant select it, in the CC Photoshop.

I'm running Photoshop CS4 on Vista with 4G RAM. Even when working on a relatively small picture (34M/69M), I get an error when trying to use Quick Select. The message says "could not complete your request because there is not enough memory". I am not running any other applications and I am allowing Photoshop to use 80% of my RAM. I have a 700G scratch disk. What gives?
View 3 Replies View RelatedThe Quick Select Tool is great at selecting irregularly shaped objects with well-defined boundaries, and the Refine Edge dialogue box is good at making small, important adjustments to complex "soft" borders like a person's hair. But what I most often need to do is isolate a figure that has good contrast against part, but not all of its background. Imagine a person in a tan shirt standing partly in front of a dark green bush and partly in front of a tan house. The QST will be great for the bush, but it always explodes the selection to the house or cuts the guy's arm off.
Is there a way of getting more or less the selection I want, and then using the plain old lasso tool to add or subtract finer manual selection?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to cut out a selection using Quick Select (all refine edge settings off) and then paste into a new layer. However, I can't get a 100% pixel perfect alignment once I paste. Cut/Paste using the rectangle select does match 100%. The quick select tool should allow for 100% pixel perfect alignment, correct?

Every time I use Quick selection tool it selects the area which I don't want to use. I have a website called JoGuru Social Travel Network for which I need to edit it's logo. Now since the logo has many green and blue variation I can't select the area I need.
I thought of changing the color of logo so that it looks refined but green color signifies travel and i can't think of using any other color. It would have been easy to pick other color. For me Green is God. I must use that only. I also need to encorporate small road in it that defines journey to infinity. This tool use to work well before. It's giving me problem for the first time.
On one computer when I select my selection tool I have a circle with a + inside or - whichever I choose to select or deselect an object. BUT, on my other computer I have a large cross hair type thing and I can't tell whether I am selecting or deselecting... what the heck is going on!!

It works pretty well but Im still having trouble in some spots getting the edge to be a smooth curve.
How do you get the refine edge function to allow you to modify its edge so you can have a perfectly smooth edge?
Ive tried using the Refine Radius Tool and it just doesnt smooth it out completely.
I use Quick Properties in static mode mostly for counting objects and quickly seeing the length of lines and polylines. These lengths are listed in feet and inches. Would it be possible to add an additional length item to the quick properties menu which shows the inches/decimal length? Would be awesome as I wouldn't then have to do the math to convert to inches.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI added the Layer group (On / Off Freeze Lock / Unlock and Layer name) to the Quick Access Toolbar. I only see the first part name of the layer. Is there a way to stretch this part of the group in the QAT tool bar so I can see the more of the layer name? The partial name and layer color may be a sufficient clue as to the whole layer name over time. Would be nice to see the whole name until then.

View 1 Replies View RelatedInstance 1. I have lost the Quick Access Toolbar located above the ribbon to the of the right of the application menu button. I can no longer save a drawing and no longer undo or redo any commands that I need to edit while creating a drawing.
Instance 2. I created a drawing saved it and then later came back to it. Went to Veiw tab then clicked the Tile Vertically button. My drawing on one half of the screen and a blank one on the other half. I X out of the screen and started the drawing once again and the drawing area is now labled Drawing1.dwg with a blue square border around the drawing area. With no split screen. I would like to get back to the original drawing area without the blue border going around it titled Drawing1.dwg. I was trying to use the move command to get my drawing into the empty space next to it.
Using Autocad 2011. If I pick an object, any object, in an old drawing, or newly created drawing, I cannot change it's color in the Quick Properties dialog box. "Color" is grayed out, and not selectable. I can change it via the pulldown in the Layer Manager on my toolbar, but not in the Quick Properties dialog. This just started happening.

I've already changed the minimum number of rows to 20, under 'Palette Behavior', under 'Quick Properties', 'Drafting Settings', and' Tools'.
I've closed and reopened Autocad several times since i've set this, but QP box will still not show more than 4 complete lines.
I've also gone to the CUI and changed the number of attributes i want to show for each different kind of entity, so i know it's not because i dont have enough lines to show....in fact, i can see a bit of the next line....i just can't drag the window any bigger!
I have configured a client workspace with a customised quick access toolbar and I am using acaddoc.lsp to ensure it is loaded when ACAD is fired up, the problem is, despite forcing the GUI to change wksps by:
(command "wscurrent" "Autocad classic")

(command "wscurrent" "Barclays Net 2012")
(princ)
I can see the swap happening but the quick access bar is missing. If I manually select the current wksp from the switching tool it appears I don't even need to change to a different wksp and on restart it remains visible, it is only occurring on first use.
Quick dimensioning a number of blocks doesn't work. Is there a way to do this without exploding the blocks.
For example I have 10 blocks at various intervals and I want to pick up the centre line position of each block to show the dims between each block centre.
