I already have all my settings the way that I want the users to see them when starting AutoCAD 2010 for the first time. But when you first start up AutoCAD 2010 it brings up the Initial Setup screen. I was wondering if there was a way to get that not to display but just open AutoCAD right away.

i just installed the 2012 autocad on my laptop and everytime i use trim or rotate or anything else the screen just goes black and the computer freezes for a few seconds and then it comes back and tell me that its trying to adjust the program with the monitor but it never ends and it keeps doing the same thing. btw my laptop specs are: windows7 home premium, intel i5, 6gb ddr3, intel HD3000 graphics.

Is there a way to start Autocad in "safe mode" or something similar?
I added two macros to be run from a button in the ribbon. The first time I run one of these macros after startup of Inventor, it takes a lot of time to run (approx. 5 sec.). But the second and subsequent time the tools are ran, the process is pretty much instantaneous. It's like the VBAeditor has to load on the background before the tool can process.
I arrived a this hypothesis because the VBA editor is taking around 5-10 seconds to load for the first time but after the tool (macro) has ran once, the VBA editor can be opened instantaneously.
When ever I start a new sketch in the xz plane (viewing from top down) my sketch rotates 180 degrees. Not a huge deal to rotate it back, but not everything I create is symetrical and when I go to draw the part, I want a certain ISO view to be default. I know you can insert/obtain any view into the drawing but is there an option to stop this rotation or maybe I am not setting up something correctly.

I am running Autocad mech 2009.
I would like to set up Autcad so that when it opens, it opens a custom profile.
In the past, I was able to accomplish this by using the autocad shortcut properties:
"C:Program FilesAutodeskACADM 2009acad.exe" /p <<customprofilehere>>
However, now....i have a shortcut that opens autocad up in xm mode and so the shortcut properties looks like this:

is there a way to modify this so that it will open the custom profile when it launches autocad in xmmode?
When our photographer browses his folders with pictures and double clicks upon one of them (jpg-files always), his Photoshop (he uses CS3 and Windows NT) always opens up the file only shoving it as 16,3% size (or such, I can't remember the exact number)
As a result the picture hardly fills 1/4 or 1/8 of the available space in the Photoshop screen, and he always has to click the picture larger before being able to work in it.
He has recently got a new - and more powerful - computer, and he did not have the same problem when using the old computer, here his files always opened to the maximum possible size.
I just started up my Illustrator cs6 today, and a screen came up that said Tryout. This the first time its ever happened. After checking out google, I found that similar questions were asked but on torrent sites. I purchased the creative suite fully in September. So, I'm not as to why I would receive this screen.
View 3 Replies View RelatedAutoCAD has been freezing randomly when I start it. It will get to the screen below (top image) and.... that's it. It stays that way and does not change. I have waited up to 15 mintues before restarting my computer as trying to start AutoCAD again doesn't seem to change anything.
I have learned that the Devices and Printers window will also be blank when this occures (bottom image). I can now predict when AutoCAD won't open by opening the Devices and Printers window first. I think the issue is unrelated to AutoCAD, rather the issue is my computer not refreshing the Devices and Printers. When CAD is loading the list of available printers it can't find any so it continues to look and.... never gives up.... I can't even print a PDF from Adobe Reader while the Devices and Printers window is in this state (this is actually how I found that the Devices and Printers window was blank). I have not tested to see if ALL applications fail to print, but that is a separate issue.
what is causing my computer not to open the Devices and Printers window successfully?

In my project I use an off-screen device to render the scene; I need to tweak some render settings (just load a default preset could be a good starting point), but I can't figure out how to do this with an off-screen device!
View 2 Replies View RelatedOne of the computers that have AutoCad installed will not load all the way. It will start to show the welcome screen and the it will freeze. Looking on the internet that you go into task manager and kill the process called WSCommCntr, but it is not appearing in the task manager.
Originally the pc was on XP SP2 and with .Net 3.5. I updated both to the latest version. I have reinstalled AutoCad and I am still getting the issue. All hardware checks passed.
Also the issue sounds just like the one here URL.... , but I uninstalled the .Net Framework and reinstalled version 3.5 SP1. That did not work so I uninstalled that and put on 3.5. This still is not working.
I'm trying to Install Photoshop CS3. i have a problem. I was installing it. pc crashed. and now i restarted and everytime i Try to install the Adobe Photoshop CS3 and everytime it keeps saying ' (Setup already Running) You can only install one Adobe Product at a time. I downloaded photoshop and the 'touch app plug-ins' through the Adobe Application Manager for creative cloud. When I open a file in PS and select the brush(or any other) tool if I use the touch screen to drag it accross the canvas nothing happens. It still works with my mouse though.

View 3 Replies View RelatedIn any case, when I try to enable System Audio in the screen capture setup, I get an error message saying that it can't find any system audio.
System audio is working fine on my system, and neither Camtasia, CamStudio nor two other screen capture applications that I use have any problem with this whatsoever.
Not sure what causes a page setup already created and previously used to not be able to be selected at a later time. When selecting it, it reverts back to <none>. Does this mean the plotter changed/is not available? The network name for the plotter did not change, but the model of the plotter changed slightly. I have the same setup saved in 100's of drawings and assumed that as long as the network name for the plotter remained the same, the setup would continue to work.

I have been using the MVSetup command to adjust a view port orientation however when I do this the Pickfirst command is changed to 0 - it was only by chance I discovered this and was able to change it back. Also, is there a command to reset all changes made through MVSetup in a viewport ?
View 9 Replies View RelatedAC 2012, Win 7 64 Bit..I sent up this template a while ago, and for the life of me, I can't remember how I setup the text in the title block.I had it set so some text would only have to be changed on the first sheet, and the remainder would automatically populate on a regen.
When I tried to duplicate it, in the field dialog box I can't seem to find out how I got the block reference. Field category=Objects, Field names=Object, Object Type=Block reference.
We have just upgraded from 2009 to 2012. Also have merged with a New company that did use xrefernces for there title blocks and we did, and now i am trying to solve how to use there borders to create new page layouts.
Our page setups that we had in 2009 were created by a former employee that is longer with the company.
How we typically started a border/ sheet. We have a separate drawing file that has in model space a 24x36 border with our info that we want repeated on all our sheets.
Now that we are in 2012; The layout tap is a weird size and the 'layout black area' does not match when I import that 24x36 boarder file. The black area does not line up with "0,0,0" and that is what I and trying to figure out how to i make the black area of the layout start at 0,0,0 and be 24x36.

the green box is 24x36.
the blue box is the new border which is ment to be sent within the 24x36 and the brownish red box is the old border and layout and what we used to use.
I am just installed AutoCAD 2010 on Windows 7 (both 64-bit). There is a problem with the Page Setup Manager. When I select any of the page setup tabs, then select "modify" or even "new", the program crashes. Same things happens when I gain access to the Page Set Up Manager through the menu. . Page Manager hasn't ever worked. Update 2 is installed. I have repaired and reinstalled, and tried all again just now. There is no error message beyond "not responding" in parentheses next to name of dialogue box. The screen grays out and stays that way. Then the screen becomes shaded with the whirling aqua ring and it's all over. Control + P and plot causes the system to crash as well.

However every time i go into the properties for them whatever i do to one effects the other. I just want one to be stapled one to not be stapled and everything else to be identical.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am working on an AutoCad drawing (Vers. 2013) that I got from someone else. I am setting up my drawing and right clicked my sheet tab as usual to go to the page set up manager. I set up my printer, ctb, paper size etc. But when I try to set my plot size to 1:1 it won't retain it and reverts to 1"=1'. It will however let me switch to anything other than to 1;1 (ie 1:10). I checked some existing drawings and the problem doesn't show up. So it's just this particular drawing that's messed up. I checked my drawing units and drawing setup commands and they are the same as I always use.
So the question is why won't let me use a plot size of 1:1?
I need to modify the page setup of multple drawings and have it save that way so everytime I open the drawing the chosen page setup is selected.
I'm aware of being able to set multiple page setups in the publish screen, but that isnt a permenant change to the drawings themselves, and not what I'm looking for.
Without our office, we set up Sheet Sets for every set of drawings we produce, and we setup Page Setup Overrides specific to those drawings from which we can print. We may setup one for printing fullsize PDFs, another for in-house half-size plots, and another for 11x17 printing. The Overrides are saved on our office network.
We've been having an issue where the plotter(s) in the various Overrides won't work initially when someone other than the creator is printing. That person will have to open up the 'Manage Page Setup Overrides' tab, select 'Modify' for the Override they wish to change, and select the plotter to use in that Override (the plotter always defaults to 'None'). They can publish from that particular drawing set just fine until someone else in the office needs to print using an Override, in which case they go through the same procedure listed above.
We're using network printers only, and we've verified that the printer names, ports, etc. are all the same between the various computers, so different naming or port selection doesn't seem to be an issue.
In our drawing office we use Inventor in a mining materials handling environment. Our output is mainly structural drawings where we require a bill of materials as part of creating a drawing. Whenever I insert a BOM in the drawing environment I get this table which is labeled in a foreign language (it looks like an Eastern European language) and the format is not as per the standard Autodesk installation setup.
How do I either revert back to the standard setup or do a BOM setup from scratch?
We use IV 2013 Professional on Windows 7 64 bit.
I only installed Photoshop last week, the screen goes black almost constantly and I have to click a few buttons for it to suddenly reappear. Its running on Windows 8.
