but i ran into some trouble. At step 5, where it says to press Base or use the command VIEWBASE i get a window that will ask me to open up some kind of inventor file. The tutorial does not acknowledge this, but the rest of the instructions and result seem like just what I need!

May 31, 2013I recently installed Autocad Map 3d 2014, 64 bits, on a windows 7 machine. I set up an enterprise model in a SQL server 2008 R2 database, created a custom industry model with one feature class, converted a SHP to my custom industry model. All 80 features were converted.
The problem is when I'm trying to call Generate Graphic function. Autocad Map crashes and I get this error in the error log:
An item with the same key has already been added.

Feb 9, 2011I've been trying to work out how to generate a whole lot of smaller drawings from a bigger drawing, automatically through Scripting and Lisp programming. Each of these smaller drawings would be based on a rough 20 metre buffer of the property boundaries inside it. Each drawing created would preferably be the expression of the House number + Street name, which are in each property boundary parcel as object data. What I have been doing in the past is attaching and querying the required drawing one by one but this takes a while and we are about to get a whole shed load more to be done.

AutoCAD 2010 :: 3D Spirals - How To Generate Cut Sheet
Jul 18, 2013I drew a 3d spiral, and now i need to create a cut-sheet in sections (half or quarter) so I can sent to my shop for fabrication. Please see attached photos.
I want to be able to provide a cut sheet template so i can print it out and they can trace it on the sheet metal, cut however many sections required, and weld it together to create the spiral. My concern is that the top view dimensions is not an accurate dimension when the piece is bent 8 inches from the start of the spiral.
Also, my next issue would be the side wall of the spiral, and how to properly create a cut sheet on the given dimensions.
I also tried to do this in Autodesk Inventor, using the sheet metal tool, flatten command, and I was unable to flaten the object.

AutoCAD 2010 :: Rotate 3D Model In Model Space?
Apr 13, 2012Basically I've got a detail specific to my design, I've extruded all of the layers up to their desired levels etc, but now I want to be able to rotate it all so that instead of these layers being orientated vertically, they are orientated horizontally, if that makes sense. I understand that there is something involved with the UCS but I'm not sure how to get this to work. This may be an issue with my computer as I know my laptop graphics card is pretty rubbish and impacts a lot of 3d programs such as Rhino and SketchUp so this could be the issue here

all the iparts when new member is added in order to manintain the parent child version relationship
Example : say i have a ipart 41020.ipt and i have members 41020- 001 ~ 008 . I check out the parent
from Vault and add 009 member to it.
Question :
Do I have to generate all and check those in to maintain the version relationship between the child and parent inside
Vault 2013 ?
Or
Only generating 009 will maintain version relationship inside Vault 2013

Sep 14, 2011The layer is on and the ground levels on the architectural drawing in model view show the number and the box surrounding them however in the drawing window be it in the numbers have dissapeared and we are left with only the boxes ?

Dec 10, 2013Eventually after I copy and paste with the clipboard enough times within one drawing, the ability goes away and I can no longer copy and past one item from one drawing to a separate drawing. I need to use the clipboard function because that is the only way of getting an item from one drawing to another.
I have download a clear clipboard function but it doesn't work. Closing CAD and restarting does not reinstate the function.

Nov 30, 2011I have parts that are similar and want to save a copy of the model and it's drawing together as a new part number. This way I don't have create a new drawing every time. I used ProE 2001 before I upgraded to Inventor 2012 and ProE would save them both together.

Nov 25, 2013As this software continues to change it's behavior of function over nite. I am assuming due to new updates in inventor. I can no longer get my drawing to update per changes made to the model. This started about 2 weeks ago.
Change are completed perfectly, I open the drawing and it still has the old model represented. When I right on the view and open the model. Model contains all of my changes, but the drawing does not seem to care or notice that changes have been made and saved. I even closed inventor and reopened.
Even though I'm paid by the hour I really do not want to delete all views and start all over.
So the only answer is to delete all views replace them re dimension them and of course add any time consuming sketches.
10-15 minutes change now is going to take 3 hours. WHY can't autodesk make a stable piece of software?
AutoCAD LT :: Drawing In Layout Not In Model Space
Apr 20, 2012I have received a drawing that is only showing in the first layout tab on a contractor's template. The drawing is in a viewport of course. The drawing does not show in the model space.
1. Is it possible to send a drawing only in the Layout tab?
2. Is it possible for me to do something to view the drawing in model space and how is it done?
3. Could it simply be a compatibility issue between the contractor's.
