AutoCAD 2010 :: Check Area - Cannot Select More Than 3 Points
Oct 27, 2013When a check area and I start selecting and the "green window " appears it won't let me select more than 3 points
I was able to select multiple points. How can I fix this ?

Apr 6, 2009I've recently migrated from AutoCAD 2008 (non-industry specific) to AutoCAD 2010 so I don't know if this was an issue in 2009.
Back in 2008, when I choose the 'window' option when specifying a plot area, AutoCAD would show the workspace so that I could manually select a windowed plot area, and at the same time the whole workspace would be greyed out except the previously active window area.
This was handy, because we can have as many two dozen title-blocks (and therefore separate viewports) in paperspace, and knowing what plot area I last plotted or added as a saved page setup.
In 2010, it no longer does that. I now have to rely on the dashed border to know where the active plot area is/was (checked 'display printable area' in options>display tab) which I personally don't really like using.

Nov 8, 2012When I try to use the move tool and hover over an object, the marker tool bounces around and has trouble finding the selection point. When I zoom in close to get the exact point on a line - it doesn't select anything, so I can't actually move an object.
I've tried adjusting the object snap settings however this doesn't seem to be working.

AutoCAD 2013 :: When Select More Than 100 Entities All Of Grip Points Disappear?
Sep 27, 2012When I select more than 100 entities all of the grip points disappear. With ACAD 2002 there seemed to be no limit to the number of entities you could select without losing the grips, but with ACAD 2007 they started dissapearing though with '07 clicking "View" "Regen" would bring them back into view (unless you accidentally click on another entity). With ACAD 2013 if I go over 100 that's it. This is mostly a problem for me as I use the spacebar shortcuts extensively in creating and manipulating my drawings. I have found other ways to to acomplish my needs such as using the move command but I have much successful history using my old methods and would like to continue with them.

Sep 30, 2013I wanted to select dimensions and change the precision to 2 decimal points.
For any dimensions I positioned on the object (like the width of the block centered in the block)...rather than above, below or off to the side. I am unable to select that dimension. Every time my cursor goes towards the dimension to select it.....the block itself is automatically selected. Any dimension outside the boundary of the object is fully selectable to edit.
AutoCad :: Drag-select Multiple Vertex Points Form Polyline
May 13, 2011How can I drag-select muliple vertex points form a polyline, a workaround I found is:
-select object
-shift select first vertex, shift select next vertex, etc
But this workaround is limited because I want to delete those vertexes, I cannot find the remove vertex command when I have multiple vertexes selected.

Photoshop :: Selecting Outside Of Masked Area To Select Layer?
Feb 13, 2013When I have a masked layer and try to drag-select other items on other layers outside of it, it still gets selected if the image area happens to be located within the selection range. Or in other words: why would anything outside of the masked area get selected at all, when the point of a mask in not just to hide what's outside, but also to 'deactivate' it,so that the masked area is all we are working with. This didn't happen before, may be those were older versions of photoshop.

Jun 24, 2013In previous versions of PS you used to be able to press CMD (i'm mac based) and drag the mouse to select all the layers that are within the area you drag to.
This is great for sorting out files, grouping layers etc as you can lock/hide layers as you go. Problem now is that in Photoshop CC it also selects locked and invisible layers - which didn't use to happen so actually its completely ruined this method.

Dec 16, 2013I've tried using GIMP many times, yet I've accomplished very little, given all of GIMP's functionality. For example:
If I want to select part of an image and copy it to another area or to a new image/layer, and also FEATHER the edges, here's how I'd do it in an old graphics app I often used years ago:
1. Select the area.2. Hold Ctrl while moving selection with Move tool.3. Use the slider to soften the edges to my liking.4. Press Enter to anchor selection. Done.
And there were sliders also for opacity and other things. So very SIMPLE because the prog. was designed very intuitively. How would I accomplish the same in GIMP? Well, most of the time, I WOULD ACCOMPLISH NOTHING! At best, I'd enter values into the box, not like the result, enter new values, repeat. And that's on a good day.
Somebody write a SCRIPT/PLUGIN that allows the use of sliders exactly as described above! I desperately want to be a HAPPY GIMP user, but I'm growing ever more hopeless. I don't want to turn on my older PC just to use a graphics app that actually lets me get things done.
