AutoCAD 2010 :: Export Coordinates Of Points To Spreadsheet (relative To Origin)
Jul 31, 2012I’m trying to export from my drawing point X-Y position coordinates to Excel for use in programming a metrology that will measure at these locations.
When I use the EATTEXT command to pull up the data extraction wizard, it will export the positions & extracts the locations to a spreadsheet format. But coordinate numbers I get, seem to be relative to the World USC system & not the origin I align & set in the center.
Yet when I use ID Point, to check positions the coordinates of the points are correct & relative to the center origin. How to get the location coordinates relative to the center USC origin I've located in the center of my part?

Feb 17, 2013When I add chapter and Cue points to a project, say for example at the beginning of a specific clip in the middle of the project, just as soon as I delete or add another clip anywhere in the timeline before that clip, the chapter and Cue points become obsolete as they do not move with the clip that they were assigned to and now mark some unintended place within the project.
Every time this happens, I have to go in and manually move all chapter/Cue points. Is there any way to set chapter and Cue points be be relative within a clip, thus allowing them to move automatically and not need to be manually reset every time clips are added to or deleted from the project?
AutoCad :: Arc (start-2nd-end Point) Absolute Or Relative Coordinates?
Sep 5, 2011I have a problem with absolute and relative coordinate regarding drawing an arc.
From my previous studies, I thought whenever I input coordinates in command line, in order to use absolute coordinates I just enter them. If I want to use relative coord, then I can prefix them with @ sign.
For an arc I input as follows: start point: 0,0 2nd point: 500,500 end point: 1000,0. I was expecting to get a half circle from origin to 1000,0 point but to my surprise I find out that CAD gets the input coordinates as relative.
Am I missing something? 1.dwg1.jpg Is this behavior same for all other object drawings?

Jun 5, 2013Having trouble recently with tracking,For example if i start the line tool, and track from a point, i am given absolute coordinates instead of relative coordinates from that initial point. Absolute coordinates are not much useful to me, I want to be able to start a line at a certain distance from another point.

Mar 5, 2013I have a large surface (over 1.5 million points and 20 000hectares)
I need to get a point file .csv from the TIN to be able to use it in another program.
-so i've extracted the points from my surface, but they are Autocad points.
-next step is to convert them to civil 3d points.
-I can not select them all when converting them or my computer crashes.
-so i select about 25 000 at a time, the converting takes roughly 10 minutes.
and i have over 1.5 million points to do.
how can i speed this up.
will more ram useful?

Oct 9, 2012I have recieved a file with many points and would like to convert them into COGO points in Civil 3D. The problem is; I would like to keep the hole ID's as I convert, I've made a few conversions and lose the hole ID every time (not showing in Name or Description). Is there a seting I am missing to keep these? My aim to to organize the COGO points in different point groups.

Aug 17, 2012I have a couple points that were part of an import event (data from a previous project) which I want to assign as control points for an incoming traverse, is there any way to assign those as control points? I can't seem to find a way to do that other than perhaps re-importing the specific points as control points and overwriting the existing ones.

Apr 10, 2013I have a project that was started by leaving all the survey data inside the "All Points" group. So, I'm concerned that when I enter my as built survey points, that even if I put them into their own group, that the original surface will still look at them and just rebuild to my asbuilt data, effectively cancel out the purpose of the asbuilt survey. Will this happen?
I want to take the original points and put them into a group of their own, but I don't know if that will affect anything or not? I have several wetlands already designed on that surface with volume calcs already done too.
What should I do?

Mar 19, 2013The question is basically when you copy the White Balance setting from one image and paste it into another, is the pasted setting an absolute value or a relative value?
For example... I import three RAW images, each shot with Auto White Balance.
Image #1 is a gray card and with a WB of 6500K.Image #2 is a product shot with a WB of 6000KImage #3 is a product shot with a WB of 6200K
Let's say I adjust the WB in Image #1 to 6400K - an adjustment of -100K from the "as shot" WB.
When I copy those WB settings from Image #1 to Images #2 and #3, will the target images get an absolute value of 6400K? Or an adjustment of -100K?
Would I have:
Image #1 = 6400KImage #2 = 6400KImage #3 = 6400K
... or ...
Image #1 = 6400KImage #2 = 5900KImage #3 = 6100K

Jul 31, 2011I have two locations marked by steel stakes on my land that are also shown on a CAD drawing. The CAD drawing is two dimensional; however, contours are shown. I have physically measured distances between these two known points and numerous other locations that I wish to plot on the CAD drawing. I could always print the CAD drawing to scale and plot the new points on the CAD printout by using the two known locations, a compass to draw arcs and locating the new points by where the arcs intersect. I am sure there is a much more efficient way to plot these new points within the CAD program itself. I have just started to use CAD;

Apr 12, 2013In previous version you can rotate the UCS around the Z axis by tying UCS Z at the command prompt and then you were prompted to select two points to defin the angle. Now it uses a point at the ucs icon as the first point and only allows me to pick the second point. Is there a way to pick two points to define the UCS angle? I tried setting the UCS Origin to the first point and that did not work.

AutoCAD 2010 :: Can't See Of Snap To Points (nodes)
Nov 27, 2013I am trying to use the DIVIDE command but can't see the points (nodes) it creates after the command is complete. I have the OSNAP setting on to snap to nodes which I can't even see. The QSELECT command let me see that they are indeed in the drawing, and that is the only way I can select them.

Feb 25, 2013For some reason my computer is the only one in my office that is doing this. Whenever something is put on the def points layer I am unable to select it afterwards.
Such things have been:
1) The viewport in paperspace. The view cannot be resized but I can still click inside the viewport and work without problem.
2) Any line, block, etc made or put on that layer.
From what I've read others are saying is your layer 0 locked or frozen? It is not. Also in my layers manager nothing is turned off to make it any different from any other layer.

May 19, 2012i have an elevation point layer that i'm using in a project and i needed to import it to arcgis for some interpolation.
Problem is, all altimetric points are "B"s instead of being points, and arcgis doesn't recognize them as points. Is there a way of quickly converting them all of them into points?
Take into consideration that we're talking about hundreds, maybe thousands of said "B"s.

May 16, 2013I need to bust a floor plan up into 4 quadrants. Just so I don’t do anything to the original, typically I will copy the plan from one starting coordinate to my “construction document”, or working construction lines. Once I’ve made the copy, I typically use the construction line as a “Quadrant Marker” for match-lines, etc., etc., etc… My problem is that I cannot remove the construction lines from the new copy that I’ve made. Not only that, if I move the copy, or delete the copy, the construction lines now seem to be a part of the “new drawing”. The “Grip” is also listed as a “Constraint”.

Oct 29, 2013I know that I can find which points are which by checking the properties, but I am wondering if there is a way to (for example) edit the grips so that they indicate which end is which, like how they are used in dynamic blocks to show how an object can stretch. This isn't a problem that requires an imeediate fix, but would be nice if there were such an option.
