AutoCAD 2010 :: Filter All Points In Elevation Divisible By 10

Oct 5, 2011

I'm using the FILTER command to do this. I've added elevations 410, 420, 430, ect to the list, with a ** Begin AND at the start of the list, and a ** end AND at the end. Nothing gets selected.

AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Creating Points According To Elevation

Jan 3, 2013

I have a number of 3D polylines that where exported from SDF previously created. They have numerous vertices, each one with a given elevation.

How can I create/highlight the higher and/or lower point in each 3D polyline??

A different solution would be automatically breaking these polylines in slope changing points (i.e. high or low points).

I understand that i can create points according to slope or elevation, but it has to be done manually, each poly at a time, and by tipping numeric values that i am sure that a powerfull software (as Civil 3D is) is able to calculate using the drawing information.

AutoCAD Map 3D :: Polygon Data From Elevation Of Internal Points

Feb 9, 2012

I have thousands of polygons (and circles) which represent 2D foundation detail.

I have XY Location data (XLS, CSV etc) and Z's for the tops and bottoms of all these objects. (and hence, AutoCAD points)

I have used SHP data before (for the building footprints, and tops) whereby the top and base data is included in the data and I have use mapimport with change properties to thicken polylines and create quick 3D objects above ground.(This was created by others using a method similar to what I want, but in a competitors GIS...)

I need to do the same with the footings.

How can I create a "search" that says - for each polygon, look for a single point inside, and report its elevation and attached that to the polygon as data? Or, create a SHP of all these polygons with RL data queried of the internal point.

The points arent necessarily at centroid, which could be an issue. (Most are, however)

There is no keyID data between the polys and the points (so data joins wont work)

A friend did this very quickly for me in an ESRI Package, surely MAP can do the same!?

Map 3D 2012, and a monstrously powerful CAD workstation... just, er, not the knowledge to yet pull this off.

AutoCAD Civil 3D :: COGO Points Not Displaying Elevation Properly

Jul 1, 2013

I have a rather odd situation.  I have input a small table of survey points (we don't have access to a data collector, so it had to be manual).

I have a properly located and back-sited setup, with all of the points located in 3 dimensions.

The Northing/Easting/Elevation data is calculated and displayed for all of the points in the "observations" table accurately.

Every point has the same display/labeling properties/settings, but only 2 points properly display the elevation as calculated.

The problem seems to be that the points aren't accurately retrieving the Elevation from the table.

For some reason, in the “Properties” dialogue for the points that display properly, the “Point Elevation” field actually contains a number; whereas the points that don’t, the same field reads “*PROPERTY NOT SET*”.

This makes no sense, because in the table that defines the points, the elevation is accurate for all of the points, and I can’t find a difference in the table- or in the point properties- between the correctly displayed points, and the ones that are missing the elevation label.

AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Moving Points With Nod Grip Without Elevation Changing

Nov 13, 2013

I recently upgraded from Civil 3D 2009 to Civil 3D 2014.  In Civil 3D 2009 I was able to set the point style 3D modeling to flatten the point to a 0.00 elevation. In doing this I could move the point around freely using the nod grip without the elevation changing weather I used object snap or just freehand placed the point.

For some reason with 2014 when I grab the nod grip it changes the elevation to 0.00 as soon as I move it from the location it currently sits despite the fact that everything is set the same as it was setup for 2009.  Is there a setting that I need to change to fix this or is there a new way to go about moving the point without using a bunch of different commands.

Another words is there a way to select all the survey points required and get CAD to display a certain property, which in my case is the elevation height of that survey point, next to it? so it looks like    x 23.35  x 23.57 etc..

Everything seems great in the exported dwg, except it is converting the elevation units from feet to inches!?  A contour that was originally at an elevation of 7.0 feet, ends up at 7 inches in the exported drawing. Spatial coordinates are preserved.

AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Point Elevation Takes On Elevation Of Snapped Object?

Dec 19, 2012

When I snap a point to an object, the point takes on the elevation of the object. I would rather the point's elevation stay as is.

-changing osnapz variable

-latest civil 3d service pack

A few weeks ago I did not have this problem but once my computer was switched to the company's global server and c3d was reinstalled the problem appeared. Furthermore (post switchover), when a colleage of mine prepared a simple test drawing with just a line and a point, he was able to snap to that line without the point changing elevation. When he sent that drawing to me and I tried snapping the point to the object, the same problem occured with the point taking the elevation of the line object. I suspect it is a system variable issue

2) Any line, block, etc made or put on that layer.

From what I've read others are saying is your layer 0 locked or frozen? It is not.  Also in my layers manager nothing is turned off to make it any different from any other layer.
