Paint.NET :: Select Area Within JPEG Image To Blur That Selected Area?

View 2 RepliesUsing PS Elements 11 I can easily selecte (quick selection tool or smart brush tool) an area of a photo that I want to adjust, but I'm adbsolutely stymied as to how to apply the adjustment I want to that selected area??? How do I do it??? I have the area selected (e.g. I've slected a very bright sunlit area of a photo) that I want to make darker ... how do it do that?
Â
Or I've selected an area of a photo that, after using the composition tool, has a lot of serious jagged lines, and I want to blur/smooth that area ... I've tried every conceivalbe combination (max radius etc.) of the blur filter, but nothing seems to significantly blur the selected part of the image. I would have thought that, given a "maximum" blur "setting", it would be possible to blur a selected piece of image into a uniform monotone blend ... is that not possible?
See attached file.
How can you do the area takeoff of only the selected faces (red area)?

Right now I have to use the 3rd party software to do something like this. I'm curious if there's a way to do inside Revit?
im using Adobe PS 7.0. Im trying to So I have picture of A person standing in a city with clothes and everything. The thing im trying to do is changeing the color of his jacket (only) but every time I try it changes the color of the whole pictures or something else. Image>Adjustment>HueSaturation>Changeing from master to other color>then pressing ****+ and taking some samples> then when im draging the Hue or saturation its changes the whole picture. I also tried Replacing color but aswell denied.

(and I have a image example; but, I could not figure how to Insert here via Image shack -most of the codes I tried between the 'IMG' gave strange results)
A year ago I used Paint.Net for a map. I remember that I could select a freeform area by just clicking several dotted/dashed flickering points around the border so the lines were straight afterwards, when the dots were connected again. After that I could fill this area up with a transparant coulour. Now, off course, I can't seem to find how I did it.

View 10 Replies View Relatedeffective way of removing a selected coloured area from an image (a jpeg in this instance) without affecting other parts of the image. I've added a sample to illustrate what I mean.
I,ve tried the select color/ erase tool but find that it select the white from all parts of the picture, even from other colours. The picture is too complex for the freehand mask tool and time consuming.
Is there another way, or even a plug in that could vouch for?
how do you make the entire image black and white except for a selected area?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've tried using GIMP many times, yet I've accomplished very little, given all of GIMP's functionality. For example:
If I want to select part of an image and copy it to another area or to a new image/layer, and also FEATHER the edges, here's how I'd do it in an old graphics app I often used years ago:
1. Select the area.2. Hold Ctrl while moving selection with Move tool.3. Use the slider to soften the edges to my liking.4. Press Enter to anchor selection. Done.
And there were sliders also for opacity and other things. So very SIMPLE because the prog. was designed very intuitively. How would I accomplish the same in GIMP? Well, most of the time, I WOULD ACCOMPLISH NOTHING! At best, I'd enter values into the box, not like the result, enter new values, repeat. And that's on a good day.
Somebody write a SCRIPT/PLUGIN that allows the use of sliders exactly as described above! I desperately want to be a HAPPY GIMP user, but I'm growing ever more hopeless. I don't want to turn on my older PC just to use a graphics app that actually lets me get things done.
How is it possible to evaluate the total relative area of the part of a photo image selected by its colour in Photoshop (in % to the whole image)??

Are there any addons that make this task easier, or is there a simple function that I have just not seen.

My goal is to overlay it on three seperate colored layers, and "cut through" the lower layers with the top layer set on multiply, that way coloring the details while leaving the shading intact.

Using Anim8er to make a movie sequence of someone walking. Export images as BMP images.
Select the walking guy and delete the back ground. Found that the walking dude is a little high in the picture. ( I want it 8 pixels from the bottom, not the 16 pixels it currently is.)
I will be cropping each picture. is there a way of selecting the exact same crop area over 200 pictures? In the mean time I will change the camera angle to compensate the height.
Is there a way of using a plug in such as the ALIGN plugin to position the image to a particular point?
I want to move and rotate a selection but PS (CS3) gives the message it can't be done because the selected area is empty. However, if I rotate or move in the background layer or a duplicate background layer the whole image changes, I also move or rotate the backgroundstuff while I only wanted to rotate the selection.

View 3 Replies View RelatedThe other day I accidentally hit a keystroke combination that produced an effect I was surprised and happy to see. I have not been able to reproduce it.
I had a layer that was smaller than the layer below it, those being the only two layers. And somehow I was able to select the size of the top layer down onto the lower layer in a way that I could move around to position.
I am running autocadlt and opening up a very detailed drawing by an architect which was likely drawn on the most recent version of the autocad. When i go to select a certain area of the plan, elevation views appear in the background as i drag my selection with the mouse. The elevation views are not visible in the plan in the model space. All layers are on and unfrozen.
I am a surveyor and am trying to import the plan into my survey program (which only accepts files in autocad 2007 or earlier anyway). When I open the file in the survey program, for some reason the elevation views are showing and can not be turned off.
I tried to use the command erase, then "all" it tells me "2891 objects found, 19 not in current space". Does that have anything to do with it?
I have gone into the layer manager and selected all the layers and turned them on, and have unfrozen them
Did the proxygraphics command as well
Could it be because autocadlt???
Is there any way to deselect an area after you've selcted it.
EX: I create a cut out, move my cut out and the dotted line area of cut out is still there. Or I create a box , but I cant get rid of it....
I know.. It's probably simple but I have been trying and I searched the forums before posting.
THERE I'D LIKE TO ASK ABOUT CUTTING ... SO I'VE DONE THE SCISSORS THING ,CLOSED THE SELECTION AND IT APPEAR IN A FRAME , HOW DO I MOVE SELECTED AREA ? ALSO HOW TO MAKE THE FRAME ITSELF DISAPPEAR ?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI want to select part of an image with just one layer. Say I just flattened the image and have to move one part of. I select it with the rectangular select tool. It seems intuitive that I could then just move what I selected, but when I drag the selection, the selection itself moves without moving what is inside the selection.
If I then remember to click the move tool and try to move what's in the selection (seems to work sometimes, maybe when there's multiple layers?) the entire image moves.
The only way I can move part of the image over is if I make a selection and then cut it (ctrl X) then paste it.
How am I supposed to move part of the flattened image, is there a way I can set it to default to "When I select something, I can immediately drag that selected area around."
I've recently migrated from AutoCAD 2008 (non-industry specific) to AutoCAD 2010 so I don't know if this was an issue in 2009.
Back in 2008, when I choose the 'window' option when specifying a plot area, AutoCAD would show the workspace so that I could manually select a windowed plot area, and at the same time the whole workspace would be greyed out except the previously active window area.
This was handy, because we can have as many two dozen title-blocks (and therefore separate viewports) in paperspace, and knowing what plot area I last plotted or added as a saved page setup.
In 2010, it no longer does that. I now have to rely on the dashed border to know where the active plot area is/was (checked 'display printable area' in options>display tab) which I personally don't really like using.
I want to use the selected area in a automation plugin. In my case, the area is rectangle. i can't get the top, left, bottom and right position.

Well that filter is bugged for some reason. And I need to restart Photoshop. But when I save it as a PSD. And open it again. My selection is gone and I'm left with my unselected image.
So, Does anyone know how to save your project, while still keeping the selection lines intact?
