View 2 RepliesI'm experiencing a strange problem in Elements 10:
When I'm in a new file, if I go file-place and select an image it automatically tints the image into black and white. I recently used this option in the program and it almost seems like the function is stuck!?
My only option now is to re-install the software.
After turning an image black and white, how can I color in a certain area?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have selected a Layer in Gimp and I have a certain selection inside the Layer.
Now I click on tool "Bucket Fill", Mode=Normal, Fill Type=FG Color Fill, Affacted Area=Fill Whole Selection.
Opacity is 100%
The FG color is black.
But when I click into the selected area it gets filled with a transparent black! When I click again it gets more opaque and after another click its fully opaque black.
But why does Gimp fill the area transparent after I first clicked even though Opacity is 100.0??
Is there a way to apply an entire keyword set to selected image (as opposed to applying keywords one by one from a set)?
View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen I create a text layer, the whole image turns black. If I enter the text blindly, I will see the expected results when I finish and click on another tool. If I try to edit the text layer, everything turns black again.
I am not using the type mask tool. I can select and move the layer and I can blend the layer; I just can't see what I am typing. Using Windows 8
I've been trying to select and area of a JPEG but the whole thing keeps moving around.

The rest of the office, it hatches as one entity so it can be changed easily. Even if we use the group command, it will not group them.

I,ve tried the select color/ erase tool but find that it select the white from all parts of the picture, even from other colours.The picture is too complex for the freehand mask tool and time consuming.
Is there another way, or even a plug in that could vouch for?
image w 600 h 155
background = light-green ( layer1 )
with dark green dots with shadow (layer2)
the dots are faded away from right to left ( Layer3 - gradient lightgreen -> transparant used ) .
so far no problem, or does someone a better methode? Please write me ;-)
on the left, above the backgr, a image of a 'building' layer4 ( no problem )
the result should be an image divide in three hor. strokes ( height 45-70-40 )
light-green ( dots faded away ) -> light-green ( with dots )
light-green ( dots faded away ) -> almost white ( no dots ) ( does have some overlap
where some dots are visible )layer 7
light-green ( dots faded away ) -> light-green ( with dots )
the middle stroke should have the underlaying part of the 'building' image and
background a little unfocused ( like not 100% sharp when you make a photo ) and the
middle stroke should also be a little glossy.
I know it should be not difficult.... for you, but for me, I need a little help.
Should I copy from the 'building' (layer4) the middle part, make this unsharp ( layer5). Then make the .... glossy...with a light sized border?

I am very new to photography and Lightroom 3.4 64 bit. I have a photo of an apple on the table. I want to get the photo black and white (did that already). Now I want the apple it self to remain its own red color. How do I do that?
Also, I have this apple and its reflection is on the knife that is cutting the apple. How can I get that in color too?
I have a scanned image that was drawn in black, i cut it all out and pasted on a transparent background, but now I would like to make the lines of the drawin themselves, white. I thought it was flip to negative or something but im not sure and I couldnt evebn find that option.

View 7 Replies View Relatedis there a way to take a black-and-white image, and make it color?
View 9 Replies View Relatedway to turn a color image to black n white,
I use enhance > color > remove color ,
on a picture. i can turn a blue object into yellow, green or any other color. and vice versa.
To do that i know 5 different ways, or combination of those methods.
1- Hue/Saturation
2- Color Balance
3- Selective Color
4- Replece Color (Similar to Hue/Saturation)
5- select the area, create a new layer, paint the selected area on new layer, blend the new layer with "linear burn".
but when it comes to black, i can't change the black to another color with any of the ways above. So i was wondering if it is possible to turn a black object into white without killing the texture. Or cleaning the object from colors, making it colorless.
best way i know so far is playing with "exposure" settings. but this time the objcet on the image is becoming blure and loosing its texture.
Here is the object i m trying to make white (or colorless). Do you know any way to do it?
i need to make that shoe as white/colorless as this one below.
