We're setting up a new HP z820 with a Quadro K4000 card. When we look at After Effects CS6 preferences, the Ray-tracing settings don't allow it to select GPU and the CUDA box is greyed-out. The OpenGL box does show the the Quadro card... Seems something is not right here.
View 1 RepliesThe performance was fast without OpenGL(Fast Previews > Off), with my old graphic card, GeForce GTS250. After I upgrade the graphic card to Quadro 5000, it's really slow with exactly the same settings.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've recently installed Photoshop CS4 along with the production premium package on my workstation, a Dell Precision 690 (XP 64 bit).
The video card in this workstation is listed under the device manager as a 3450/4000 SDI - I installed the graphics driver for the Quadro FX 3450 dated January '09, and I'm still unable to use openGL features in photoshop. (Graphics hardware acceleration is unavailable)
I read that the 3450 is not on the supported/tested list of video cards released for CS4.
Any ideas on a fix for this? Tomorrow if I have no answers or options I'll just re-install CS2. CS4 is about 5x slower than CS2 at the moment, drawing on-screen with large files chugs along in square chunks, where it would display perfectly smooth in CS2, with only very minor hangs when zooming large (100mb+) files.
I have a Dell Presision T7400 workstation with Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU X5482 @ 3.20Ghz with 16gb Ram. When I go to properties in Photoshop CS4, the area to enable GPU acceleration is greyed out and wont le me enable this feature, which is a pain as Ive just got a new Wacom Intuos 4 with touch wheel for rotating canvas. Ive read some of the article regarding this on this forun but they tend to relate to Intel GPUs in laptops. My workstation is pretty high spec and quite new, around 12 months old. Ive also just downloaded the latest drivers for my graphics card.

When I look under Preferences - Performance , under GPU settings, the Detected Video card is empty and the "Enable OpenGL" and "Advanced settings" are both disabled. I have the latest FX driver from NVidia installed.

I think it's a graphics card problem and when I try to find driver detail on the AutoDesk or NVidia website it looks like my card isn't certified.
Does the FX2800M isn't supported and if not why?

I have an end user who is currently using a dual 27" LED monitor setup with a NVidia Quadro card (it's an older one). Â There is no rendering going, so I was wondering if let's say an ATI 6000 Series would be sufficient for it since looking at the list Autodesk has, the newer Nvidia and ATI consumer grade cards aren't listed.

Quadro cards designed for PS CS4 were simply way outside what I could afford. Just like I could not afford faster (above 7200 RPM) harddrives.

Best practices for setting up systems in a lab environment. We have a lab enviroment of about 200 systems that access AutoCad, Inventor, Mechanical and others.
We need to have a customized interface come up when Autocad is opened by students.I have read that you can do this with profiles and workspaces and also with loading a acad.lsp file.
In the past we have just copied the Windows admin profile used to customize AutoCad to the default profile. In AutoCad 2013 that does not seem to grab everything. It doesn't seem to be the best way to do what we need.
We will also be moving to Windows 7 soon which will also cause an issue.I want to find the best way to do this with out having to deal with the Windows profile.
I have PSE11 and purchased Paint the Moon effects. How can I view both the Layers panel and the Effects panel at the same time? Was this an option in older versions of PSE that are used in the Paint the Moon tutorials?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have created keyframes from audio file and used them to generate some effect, all works fine, it is amazing how easy it is However, I would like to generate flash (?) so that these effects would be dynamic to different audio files after export.
What I want is basically to create effects that can be used in life event to the streaming music.
After intalling Premiere pro CS6 and After effects CS6, I installed add-ons for these programs (newblue, boris, prodad...). When I open After Effects it gives me 38 cases of effects (Detail Enhancer, noise Reducer...) redundant in other programs, telling me to get rid of them.
When I check these effects in my programs, they are mainly .aex files, located in Premiere Pro CS6, Adobe Common Plug-ins, NewBlue Video effects collections 1 to 6. Some of them also exist in avid /pinnacle studio programs (my former video tools I still use to close previous video projects) before concentrating in Adobe CS6 suite. I don't know what to remove in a safe way. Premiere pro CS6 doesn't worry about redundancies ! Only After Effects...

I have made a short film of 6 minutes (in 6 parts on after effects) I have added all the effects and the camera work on AE, but it needs a lot of editing here and there, which I find impossible to do on AE since you can't cut and join scenes like Premier pro. I need to import all these sequences onto premier pro for editing now. The problem is once I import the files, it imports in the right order in systematic folders etc, but it doesn't show any of the camera work or the special effects like gaussian blur etc. All my hard work has gone.

There must be a way you can import the after effects file on premier the way it looks on AE.

Another problem is I read some boards and it has been suggested to edit the clips first on premier and then add effects on AE but I read this really late and I've already composited the whole film on AE. I just need premier for cutting now.

P.S: I also thought about exporting the AE sequences as TGA files but there's ZERO space left in my internal hard disk for that, and it would take forever to export them all anyway. Any other kind of export would reduce the original quality which I dont want, and which I dont have space for anyway, so that option is out as well.
I'm getting the same error on a project. Originally created in CC/Mac, down converted to CS6/PC (I don't yet have the exact version release). The sequence is 10 layers deep, and throws this error if we try to preview. If 8 of the 10 layers are turned off, then the sequence will preview as normal. So, is this a bug and is there a CS 6 version release that fixes this, or am I looking to reallocate RAM?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI've made a fabulous Smoke Text effect that I then insert the .mov file into Final Cut Pro. The smoke effect I downloaded from the tutorial has a black background and therefore when rendered out, it's a basic white text against a black background. Once in FCP, I have to turn the file's opacity down in order for it to layer over a video file and not black out what I layer over it.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI’m trying to add some text effects over my video, but I’m really stuck right now getting After Effects and Adobe Premier to work together.
From the tutorials I’ve watched online, I’ve been trying to create a dynamic link between the two programs so I could easily create texts and other effects in AE that immediately show up on my timeline in Premier. I've been able to create texts, but whatever I create in AE is not showing up on the Premier timeline. Am I missing a step? Also, when I load up my sequence into AE, all of the color correcting that I’ve done with Looks inside Premier goes away, and the clips appear as they did right out of the camera.
i would like to know if the ram setting slider in photoshop preferences/setting is meant to be for all the available ram in the computer or all available ram, which stays free from all other sametime running apps? for example, if i run osx 10.8 or 10.9, i use to run ONLY photoshop and no other app besides, so the finder would need maybe 2 or 3 GB RAM, and the rest is for photoshop.does the ram setting count with finder ram consumption or without?

my imac has 32GB RAM - so, if i set ram to 70% (out of 32GB) in photoshop settings, the finder can use 30% of 32GB, yes? anyway, it won't show "available ram is 32GB" in the settings, it shows less than 32GB would be available, so is this the answer to my question?

could i set it to 80% or 90%, when i only run photoshop (cs5 / cs6 / cc) and no other app besides? (only the 10.8.5 or 10.9 finder) or would this mean performance lags in photoshop?
Is there a way to make the setting of all the windows smaller and therefore have a bigger space area? I need Layers, Actions, Color, Navigator and Tools open at all times, but they take almost 30% of my work area.

Is there no Recovery setting anymore? I have been using this since CameraRAW essentials, which Adobe ended up purchasing so i had to use Camera RAW.
