I have a flash animation, just shapes and tweening. I was wondering if there's a way to convert it to After Effects but keeping it editable (i.e. getting AE shapes and keyframes).
View 1 RepliesI'm trying to export an animation created in photohop, its frame by frame, no background. I've been exporting it as an image sequence, now I"ve coloured it I need to solve this transparency issue.Is there a way to export it to use in after effects on top of a background layer.
So I just want to see the character, no background, animation on top of my background layer in after effects.
My co-worker spent all day trying to export a Flash file to open and edit in Illustrator. Is this possible? She feels that it is because when she exports as .fxg into Illus if she turns the preview to outlines the art looks like vector art. Im not so sure. You cant select anything. It still has all those outer boxes aroud it like when you "Place" artwork. Is it possible to do this?

I know settings in Layer Styles can be tweaked in simple animations, how can i do it to a filter effect? I use photoshop & flash does anyone know anyway to do it smoothly? any plug-ins or methods?
the only method i can think of is to create multiple images then adding them in flash, but that wouldn't be smooth enough for me and it will make my flash file too big if i import so many images.
can anyone suggest any workaround to that? any software/plug-in that can do that? The effect im trying to create is the flipping of a page, i found a filter to curl the ends of the page already, but it only saves a image at a time.
I would like to know how to delete only certain parts of history but keeping its effects. For example, a cube has a smooth polygon, bevel, and blend shape history. How do I delete only the bevel history but at the same time keeping the bevel? Don't tell me to do the bevel first, delete history, then smooth and blend shape.

Frame RHFLASH6: Dashing.
1) does AE have or can be made to perform Photoshop or Flash distort, skew, warp etc. transformations?, (these save incomparable time in path editing rather than AE's limited transforms and manual point and tangent realignments)
2) when shape(mask) tweening in AE is it capable of what Flash calls ease-in/out, or what Illustrator and CorelDRAW calls "speed"or "acceleration" respectivly?
I am relatively new to After Effects CC and am using it to create a stop motion film with a large amount of photos.Usually, when importing the individual images into my composition panel, a sequence of editable rectangles appears in the composition panel allowing me to edit the frame length of the still photos.
After around 950 imported images, the little rectangles suddenly stopped showing up. But when looking at a preview of the project, it's as if the photos are in there, in the sequence they should be. I'm just unable to edit them like the previous ones with rectangles showing.
The area of issue is where you see the descending sequence of boxes in the comp panel. The red tracking bar is there to show that there are still photos continuing the sequence.
I'm trying to Extrude my logo in After Effects CS6 to appear 3D. My understanding is I need to import an Illustrator file (.AI) in order to "Creat Shapes from Vector Layer". I'm having trouble opening a .PSD and then saving it as an .AI. The file is empty when I open it in After Effects.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI've been working on converting a vector into a shape and am having no luck. I've done this before and have had no problems. I import my vector .ai into AE as a comp (sequence tickbox not selected). Once I've got it in, I drag to the project, then click layer > create shape from vector layer. My shape populates at the top, my .ai file is off and what is just one of the three colors, along with the shap. I've checked the the shape's contents, every group has the correct fill with the correct blending mode.Also, I've tested other logos with the same results--one color displays while the others don't. I'm working with "ray-traced render engine" And, I've reset my preferences.

I want to fake a lenticular lens by demonstrating the change in perspective as the person walks by the poster, but I want to be able to embed the poster into the video somehow so that I don't have to adjust the 3D orientation and position of the image frame by frame. This can probably be done with green screen, but I may not have access to that, so is there a way to place a plane (with trackers) and parent the vector poster to said framework? This probably makes little sense..
View 2 Replies View Relatedi did an animated vector graphics - i prepared all vectors iamges in illustrator and animated them in after effects afterwards. i am now about to export and i wonder what are the best settings. for video i normally use quick time with animation codec and it seems just fine to me. but i am not sure if it is ok for the cartoon. what codec to use for storing and publishing on the internet (youtube, vimeo)? what about swf? I red it is used to deliver animated vector graphics (such as cartoons) over the Internet

Is there some other overall setting I may have accidentally triggered?
I am trying to make extrusions to an image. I am new to Illustrator and have read that .ai files are the only ones that you can extrude in AE. However when I bring in an .ai file and select create shape from vector layer, a grey square covers the shape. I am assuming that it is a transparancy issue and it is just filling in the size of the .ai project. I could be wrong though.

Live Composition Preview Window...Vector graphics are blurred even though I have the 'Continuously Rasterize' button selected. I’m using the latest After Effects and Illustrator. Other compositions within the same ae project are all 100%, then when I started another new composition, the graphics are blurred, making it incredibly difficult to work out what I’m animating as I need to zoom in and it blurs a lot. It is not a RAM issue with the MAC. was going great creating motion graphics, then all of a sudden his happens and I’ve tried everything.

I have a simple Cinema 4D 3D animation created with C4D R14. I successfully brought it into AE CC via Cineware.However, it is not clear how to make it play in AE. It plays well in C4D. But, I can't get it to play in AE.
I have PSE11 and purchased Paint the Moon effects. How can I view both the Layers panel and the Effects panel at the same time? Was this an option in older versions of PSE that are used in the Paint the Moon tutorials?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm working on a time-lapse project where I have taken 240 shots of a highway heading into my city, and have erased the cars from the shot, creating the look of an "empty city". This will be one of many sequences like this.
I got the highway background plate perfect, no cars, and I threw that into my AE comp (CS6), along with the 240 images as a JPEG sequence. I've layered the background plate on top of the image sequence and used a mask to "hide" the cars from the highway. The problem is, some of the cars are taller than the roadway (trucks, busses, etc), so they push into the upper part of the frame where the motion is supposed to happen. If I extend the mask upward, you can see a literal bisection between the still plate and the animated JPEGs. If I just move the mask path to hide cars as they go by, the moving mask becomes VERY obvious in the exported QuickTime.
Text animation presets do not load in After Effects CC (or Adobe Bridge when browsing presets). They don't show up in Effects & Presets panel. I believe they used to show up but no longer. They are in the presets folder so I'm not sure why they won't load in either program.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have created keyframes from audio file and used them to generate some effect, all works fine, it is amazing how easy it is However, I would like to generate flash (?) so that these effects would be dynamic to different audio files after export.
What I want is basically to create effects that can be used in life event to the streaming music.
After intalling Premiere pro CS6 and After effects CS6, I installed add-ons for these programs (newblue, boris, prodad...). When I open After Effects it gives me 38 cases of effects (Detail Enhancer, noise Reducer...) redundant in other programs, telling me to get rid of them.
When I check these effects in my programs, they are mainly .aex files, located in Premiere Pro CS6, Adobe Common Plug-ins, NewBlue Video effects collections 1 to 6. Some of them also exist in avid /pinnacle studio programs (my former video tools I still use to close previous video projects) before concentrating in Adobe CS6 suite. I don't know what to remove in a safe way. Premiere pro CS6 doesn't worry about redundancies ! Only After Effects...
