Photoshop :: Quadro FX 3450 + CS4 - Incompatible?

I've recently installed Photoshop CS4 along with the production premium package on my workstation, a Dell Precision 690 (XP 64 bit).
The video card in this workstation is listed under the device manager as a 3450/4000 SDI - I installed the graphics driver for the Quadro FX 3450 dated January '09, and I'm still unable to use openGL features in photoshop. (Graphics hardware acceleration is unavailable)
I read that the 3450 is not on the supported/tested list of video cards released for CS4.
Any ideas on a fix for this? Tomorrow if I have no answers or options I'll just re-install CS2. CS4 is about 5x slower than CS2 at the moment, drawing on-screen with large files chugs along in square chunks, where it would display perfectly smooth in CS2, with only very minor hangs when zooming large (100mb+) files.

I have a Dell Presision T7400 workstation with Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU X5482 @ 3.20Ghz with 16gb Ram. When I go to properties in Photoshop CS4, the area to enable GPU acceleration is greyed out and wont le me enable this feature, which is a pain as Ive just got a new Wacom Intuos 4 with touch wheel for rotating canvas. Ive read some of the article regarding this on this forun but they tend to relate to Intel GPUs in laptops. My workstation is pretty high spec and quite new, around 12 months old. Ive also just downloaded the latest drivers for my graphics card.

I have a dell 690 workstation with an Nvidia Quadro FX 1300. The problem is Photoshop CS4 is running super slow. It is impossible to get any work done. When I look under Preferences - Performance , under GPU settings, the Detected Video card is empty and the "Enable OpenGL" and "Advanced settings" are both disabled. I have the latest FX driver from NVidia installed.

I've been using PSE 11 for some time with no problem. I recently upgraded my Mac operating sytem to 10.9.1 and now the workspace for the PSE 11 Organizer is not displaying properly. The top menu bar with the import, media, people, places, events, share, and create functions isn't visible. I'm also unable to scroll to the top of my catalog of photos.Â

Using Photoshop CS 6, Windows 7.I downloaded a bunch of brushes, placed them in the brushes folder (in presets) and when I tell Photoshop to load brushes it won't see any at all.

When I double click on the files, it will tell me they are not compatible, but I have the latest version of Photoshop.

Normally I run the 64 bit version of Photoshop and I placed the burshes in both Program Files and Program Files (x86). I tried running both versions of my Photoshop (32 bit and 64 bit) still no luck.

The performance was fast without OpenGL(Fast Previews > Off), with my old graphic card, GeForce GTS250. After I upgrade the graphic card to Quadro 5000, it's really slow with exactly the same settings.

We're setting up a new HP z820 with a Quadro K4000 card. When we look at After Effects CS6 preferences, the Ray-tracing settings don't allow it to select GPU and the CUDA box is greyed-out. The OpenGL box does show the the Quadro card... Seems something is not right here.

I've got a brand new HP Mobile Workstation (See spec below sig) with a NVidia Quadro FX2800M graphics card and I have had the blue screen of death 3 times in the last week while running IV2012. I think it's a graphics card problem and when I try to find driver detail on the AutoDesk or NVidia website it looks like my card isn't certified.
Does the FX2800M isn't supported and if not why?

I have an end user who is currently using a dual 27" LED monitor setup with a NVidia Quadro card (it's an older one). Â There is no rendering going, so I was wondering if let's say an ATI 6000 Series would be sufficient for it since looking at the list Autodesk has, the newer Nvidia and ATI consumer grade cards aren't listed.

We did some tests with a windows 8 machine and we found out that the wacom Intuos5 driver is a total mess, Especially horrible with max and all 3d apps. The right click takes 2 seconds to appear and it lags a lot in dragging windows around. The right click also has the famous circle. In other words Intuos5 is unusable for Zbrush - 3ds Max workflow.
EDIT!!!15/02/2013 Wacom posted a new driver yesterday where 3ds max’s right click doesn’t work.!!! Whenever you press it turns the right click popup window on but you can’t select anything, the window sticks there until you use a mouse or throw a wacom tablet out of a window.

I've recently subscribed to Creative Cloud, and downloaded some of the new Creatie Programs, as Photoshop, Muse ands Illustrator.

I understand that Illustrator CC isn't compatible with some of my older plugins, but i don't understand that instead of simply avoid loading them, it CRASHES too! That issue forces me to find the plugin that was guilty of the crash, remove it from the plugins folder, and then start again.

This has happened me twice: with the font agent pro autoactivation filter, and with the inkling sketch manager of wacom

I must insist: what really annoyes me is the fact that the program crashes instead avoiding the loading of the outdated plugin.

I have several business partners that are supplying me with .mp4 files from Adobe live flash media encoder, using the h.264 codec, but the only audio choice is for an MP3 codec. this combination displays/plays no audio in Premiere Pro CS5. Only after I use handbrake to convert the audio to the AAC codec with it play in the Timeline.The upgrade to the main concept plug-in for AFMLE will allow for this, but the business partners are reluctant to spend the $ .is CS6 compatible with the default of FMLE with h.264 and the .mp3 audio? if so I will upgrade.

What attributes of an .eps file will be incompatible to import into CD x6?
I have imported several of the free vector art found in various websites as .eps without issues, until this one. This one imports everything except the circular renditions of snow and snowballs. Gimp and PSE will import and convert the .eps to an image as it is supposed to appear.

I do not need these snowmen anymore, I found other candidates, and I believe I could recreate the snowballs with ovals and a meshes. I am more concerned about being able to import .eps files in general.

I just want to warn that the SP2 patch of VS Pro X3 is incompatible with rendering and playback of mpeg-2 files. Your mpeg-2 files will finish rendering with SP2, but the rendered file will have audio distortions. Corel has a patch to repair it (only send to someone who calls Corel & complain about mpeg-2 render problems), but the patch causes a hiccup in the preview playback of the mpeg-2 clip just after the rendering is finished. The result only plays smooth after pause and starting of the playback from beginning again.

I have a project with one library read only - incompatible, It started after an error with archiving, I think that the library was locked by archive process and now I can't even select the library, when I select appears the message: CLIP MGT: error when opening archive: SF: Operation could not be complete. And smoke changes to another library.

Publish works as expected in foreground, uses proper page setup plot style and color table an dthe results are black on white.But when using PUBLISH in background it shows an error for each ""WARNING: Incompatible or missing plot style"" and the created PDF's are in color instead of balck and white.

On my XPS 400 system I have a Geforce 7900GS 256MB card installed and on the other system, an XPS 730 H2C, I have dual GTX 280s.
Quadro cards designed for PS CS4 were simply way outside what I could afford. Just like I could not afford faster (above 7200 RPM) harddrives.
I figure, that is the experence of most PS license holders who visit and post in these forums.
My lay research tells me that "possibly" the biggest difference between, say my Geforce latest and greatest, and your Cadilac Quadro is in what the respective drivers are programmed to do.

I started to get this strange error with my Photoshop when making a new document in Photoshop and got the following error: "cannot initiate Photoshop because Photoshop cannot create any more windows".
I thought the easiest thing to do would be to reinstall (Photoshop needs reinstalling extremely often unfortunately), but now when I try and open the program it just give an alert beep and closes back up. Even though I rarely use ImageReady, I opened that up to check and it does the same behavior.

Can anyone tell me what color settings I need to set in photoshop in order to avoid this from happening? It only happens once in a while and I don't know what I've done to fix it or screw it up. What happens is that when I'm in photoshop and I do a "save for web" my document jumps to image ready and when viewing '2 up' for optimization purposes and comparison, I realize that the original view is actually duller in color and does not look like the original in photoshop. The blacks are definitely not as black.

when I got my first Macintosh IICX and all of my MacPaint clip art. I don't want to get rid of the clip art because since I'm still using a black ink printer and not upgrading to a color one, the clip art looks nice in newsletters and the like.
Up until this time I had been using SuperPaint which had the New Superbits editing plug-in to refine the pictures so they had the smoother and cleaner lines instead of looking jagged. With my new computer and printer, I'm also getting Photoshop CS packaged with Adobe Creative Suite Premium, which I have never used before. Since I have not received my order yet, I was wondering if anyone could tell me whether Photoshop has the capability of improving the older MacPaint clip art like SuperPaint did with the New SuperBits editing plug-in. Over the past two days, I have been trying like crazy to back-up my pictures with SuperPaint and then re-saving them with Graphic Converter. It's been so incredibly slow that I thought I would go ahead and ask you, the experts, if Photoshop can also improve the quality of my older MacPaint clip art or if I should continue to back-up my clip art like I have been doing.

I have just got back from the Elbow gig and pulled the images off the card. They load up in Bridge but don't have actual picture thumbnails. They are named correctly, ie: IMG_3483.CR2 but they won't open!? Error message says 'Could not complete your request because Photoshop does not recognise this type of file'
I could see them on the back of the camera.
mac users... i did a software update the other day and I noticed that there was an update for ACR. Could it have been something to do with that? And why can't I find ACR in my Applications?

of Adobe Photoshop v6.0.1 (quite old, I know, but it do all I want and on my old HW I did not plan/want to use any more recent version, because they are HUGE and with just a little preferences trick, I did not need to reinstall my PS - ever ), yet as Czech user, I need my software to type some special characters as well. These are looking like this:

Now the only problem is, that some of them PS just refuse to type. Seven small and seven caps are just wrong. See the line "for PS:"...

I battled the problem even by editing the fonts itsels, because that seems to work with Adobe Illustrator, yet this also cause the edited fonts to be useless in another programs. So I looked deeply and in the Adobe settings in directory Fonts / Reqrd are directory CMaps and perhaps editing the character map used will be better and usable solution? how to do it or even determine with file from the 96 files in the CMaps directory are right now used by Adobe Photoshop?

when I try to save a tagra file with a alpha channel in photoshop 7 the box for the alpha channel is greyed out, with an warning sign next to it, and the line below stating "file must be saved as a copy with this selection" When I examine the saved file the alpha channel is not there!
Has anybody got any idea why?
My old version of photoshop 6, allows you to save alpha channels!

the soft edge feature of the eraser and the brush no longer work. I can go into the pallet and choose a soft edge eraser or brush, but it comes up hard edge. When I try to use the marquee box with a feather to get a soft edge, I again get a hard edge. I've used this technique a lot, so I think I'm doing the method properly. I have removed the preference files a number of times and have trashed the old Photoshop and reinstalled Photoshop 3 or 4 times,

I am working on someone elses computer and the Software settings are different. The old owner does not use this computer anymore. The swatches are set and I would like it to function how it usually does, etc. I mean, even the transparent swatch on the tool bar is not there anymore, so when I use the pen path tool, I get these white and black fills which makes it difficult for me to see the path I am meant to be following.
How do I reset Photoshop so that I can customise it the way I want it? Reinstalling the softwares is not an option.
I would like to reset Illustrator, Indesign, Dreamweaver, etc.
