Photoshop :: Brushed Can't Be Loaded Because They Are Incompatible

Using Photoshop CS 6, Windows 7.I downloaded a bunch of brushes, placed them in the brushes folder (in presets) and when I tell Photoshop to load brushes it won't see any at all.
When I double click on the files, it will tell me they are not compatible, but I have the latest version of Photoshop.
Normally I run the 64 bit version of Photoshop and I placed the burshes in both Program Files and Program Files (x86). I tried running both versions of my Photoshop (32 bit and 64 bit) still no luck.

whenever I pick a color and use a brush (any brush) and normally apply to a layer I never get that particular color. Instead it comes out slightly lighter and more saturated than the picked color. Which means when I'm trying to paint/blend with a particular skin tone I can't because the picked color comes out differently. I've come up with a quick workaround by painting on a layer above then adjusting with Hues/Saturation/Levels/etc and then merging but this is tedious!
I did notice when I checked my Color Settings my Color Working Space had been set/reset to sRGB IEC61966-2.1 (which I don't recall doing or would do). I reset back to Adobe RGB (1998) but the saturated brushstrokes are still a problem ...
My Color Management seems to be all synced ...
I'm using CS2, WinXP Pro SP3 (which was a recent change, previously SP2)

I used a tutorial for some brushed steel and would like to create something like this but with my own logo. I don't have a clue on how to start with it. Just to be clear, the brushed steel I got, it is the extra layer on top of that I don't know to create.

I am still using CS2, and I am having to break up my desired curved lines by repeatedly using the SHIFT key while clicking the next point along my desired curved line. I would like to know if there is a plug-in that would let me pick the starting point as normal, hold down the shift key while I move the mouse to the ending point, and then,after I click and get the straight line with the brush of my choice, I need a way to BEND that line in the pristine shape of a circular or elliptical arc. I need some way to indicate how much arc angle is needed (from a teeny bit to a semicircle), and also how much to skew it towards either of the end points.
The way I am doing this now is
a) create a new layer and draw the straight line, then, delete everything else on this layer but the line, then show the main layer and edit the 2nd layer with warp, and then, finally, use warp to bend and skew the straight line - after all that, I flatten the image back to one layer. The problem with this method is that warp doesn't hold the edges of my formerly straight line (with crisp edges) true, but introduces indentations and juttings which I then have to go and "fix up" by hand.
b) copy the image to MSPaint, and use the bezier cure to draw the curved line I want, and then, copy it back into CS2.
If there is a way to bend my straight lines drawn with my selected brush, and it would keep the edges crisp and smooth, then I sure would like to learn how. The problem with using "paths" and stroking the path is that I cannot see how it will look while drawing the path and, even after I stroke it, that ugly path line with its anchor and control points muddles the picture and I wind up having to delete it and go back. I need to be able to see the FINAL result of bending my curved line while I am adjusting it with no artifacts to interfere with my close examination of the result.

I can't open a specific .psd that i worked on the night before. Saved and than shut down my computer and the next morning it said the file is incompatible with this version of photoshop.

I've been using PSE 11 for some time with no problem. I recently upgraded my Mac operating sytem to 10.9.1 and now the workspace for the PSE 11 Organizer is not displaying properly. The top menu bar with the import, media, people, places, events, share, and create functions isn't visible. I'm also unable to scroll to the top of my catalog of photos.

I've recently installed Photoshop CS4 along with the production premium package on my workstation, a Dell Precision 690 (XP 64 bit).
The video card in this workstation is listed under the device manager as a 3450/4000 SDI - I installed the graphics driver for the Quadro FX 3450 dated January '09, and I'm still unable to use openGL features in photoshop. (Graphics hardware acceleration is unavailable)
I read that the 3450 is not on the supported/tested list of video cards released for CS4.
Any ideas on a fix for this? Tomorrow if I have no answers or options I'll just re-install CS2. CS4 is about 5x slower than CS2 at the moment, drawing on-screen with large files chugs along in square chunks, where it would display perfectly smooth in CS2, with only very minor hangs when zooming large (100mb+) files.

We did some tests with a windows 8 machine and we found out that the wacom Intuos5 driver is a total mess, Especially horrible with max and all 3d apps. The right click takes 2 seconds to appear and it lags a lot in dragging windows around. The right click also has the famous circle. In other words Intuos5 is unusable for Zbrush - 3ds Max workflow.
EDIT!!!15/02/2013 Wacom posted a new driver yesterday where 3ds max’s right click doesn’t work.!!! Whenever you press it turns the right click popup window on but you can’t select anything, the window sticks there until you use a mouse or throw a wacom tablet out of a window.

I've recently subscribed to Creative Cloud, and downloaded some of the new Creatie Programs, as Photoshop, Muse ands Illustrator.
I understand that Illustrator CC isn't compatible with some of my older plugins, but i don't understand that instead of simply avoid loading them, it CRASHES too! That issue forces me to find the plugin that was guilty of the crash, remove it from the plugins folder, and then start again.
This has happened me twice: with the font agent pro autoactivation filter, and with the inkling sketch manager of wacom
I must insist: what really annoyes me is the fact that the program crashes instead avoiding the loading of the outdated plugin.
Will this have a patcj in future versiones,?

I have several business partners that are supplying me with .mp4 files from Adobe live flash media encoder, using the h.264 codec, but the only audio choice is for an MP3 codec. this combination displays/plays no audio in Premiere Pro CS5. Only after I use handbrake to convert the audio to the AAC codec with it play in the Timeline.The upgrade to the main concept plug-in for AFMLE will allow for this, but the business partners are reluctant to spend the $ .is CS6 compatible with the default of FMLE with h.264 and the .mp3 audio? if so I will upgrade.

What attributes of an .eps file will be incompatible to import into CD x6?
I have imported several of the free vector art found in various websites as .eps without issues, until this one. This one imports everything except the circular renditions of snow and snowballs. Gimp and PSE will import and convert the .eps to an image as it is supposed to appear.

I do not need these snowmen anymore, I found other candidates, and I believe I could recreate the snowballs with ovals and a meshes. I am more concerned about being able to import .eps files in general.

I just want to warn that the SP2 patch of VS Pro X3 is incompatible with rendering and playback of mpeg-2 files. Your mpeg-2 files will finish rendering with SP2, but the rendered file will have audio distortions. Corel has a patch to repair it (only send to someone who calls Corel & complain about mpeg-2 render problems), but the patch causes a hiccup in the preview playback of the mpeg-2 clip just after the rendering is finished. The result only plays smooth after pause and starting of the playback from beginning again.

I have a project with one library read only - incompatible, It started after an error with archiving, I think that the library was locked by archive process and now I can't even select the library, when I select appears the message: CLIP MGT: error when opening archive: SF: Operation could not be complete. And smoke changes to another library.

Publish works as expected in foreground, uses proper page setup plot style and color table an dthe results are black on white.But when using PUBLISH in background it shows an error for each ""WARNING: Incompatible or missing plot style"" and the created PDF's are in color instead of balck and white.

I've set the interface to the middle grey colour. Yet recently, PS opens to the dark grey interface. Some other strangeness like Open Recent list has been cleared. I'm on Windows7.

I have been getting this error in a pop-up box every time I start Photoshop CS6 - I acknowledge the error (click OK) and startup completes with no further problems I have looked for solution on the web to no avail (I've chased a few red herrings reinstalling ADMxxx fonts with no success).I have just now removed (moved to a safe location) the "ADM" folder from the Photoshop plug-ins list and error goes away. I understand ADM is Adobe Dialog Manager but can I live without it or should I attempt to fix it?

why I suddenly lose all my loaded presets and also preferences (like zooming with the mouse wheel). I don't lose the presets altogether, but I have to go back and reload them again. This doesn't happen all the time, only occasionally and I can't fathom out why.

I have used PSD since version 1 and lots have changed, except that there is always a new version around the bend.I just installed PSD 13 and updated it to 13.0.1. on my MacPro 3,1 with 16GB and 4TB. Along the way I received launch errors :
MMX cannot be loaded
Color settings cannot be synched
Multiple Processor can't work with this version of Photoshop
I also received errors when I tried to creat a 3D layer from a shape or text layer or open a readable .obj file as a 3D layer.I updated the nVidia GeForce 8800 GT with the new driver 304.00.05f02 posted 10/2/2012.The first few times restarting with the new drivers, there was no changes. Finally I was able to use the 3D portion of PSD 13.Even though I was able to use the 3D, I still got the error warning on launch of PSD 'that the multiple processors weren't compatible with this version of Photoshop.'
The Adobe site [URL] says that my GPU will work with PSD 13.I am also confused by the technospeak of open_gl and open_cl. Some places refor to the GeForce 8800GT as having both and some dont refer to those terms. I wish things were consistant. If it was found to work with PSD 13 as stated in the above reference are GL & CL active in the card I have?

Since update to 14.1 OpenGl module cannot be loaded. This tells me Photoshop with each new start of the app.I already deselected support for Graphics prozessor in the preferences, but this brought no change.I have an iMac 9,1 with ATi Radeon HD 4850 and before this update there was no problem.
