Jul 19, 2013Using Photoshop CS 6, Windows 7.I downloaded a bunch of brushes, placed them in the brushes folder (in presets) and when I tell Photoshop to load brushes it won't see any at all.
When I double click on the files, it will tell me they are not compatible, but I have the latest version of Photoshop.
Normally I run the 64 bit version of Photoshop and I placed the burshes in both Program Files and Program Files (x86). I tried running both versions of my Photoshop (32 bit and 64 bit) still no luck.
Photoshop :: Brushed Colors Too Saturated
Dec 17, 2008whenever I pick a color and use a brush (any brush) and normally apply to a layer I never get that particular color. Instead it comes out slightly lighter and more saturated than the picked color. Which means when I'm trying to paint/blend with a particular skin tone I can't because the picked color comes out differently. I've come up with a quick workaround by painting on a layer above then adjusting with Hues/Saturation/Levels/etc and then merging but this is tedious!
I did notice when I checked my Color Settings my Color Working Space had been set/reset to sRGB IEC61966-2.1 (which I don't recall doing or would do). I reset back to Adobe RGB (1998) but the saturated brushstrokes are still a problem ...
My Color Management seems to be all synced ...
I'm using CS2, WinXP Pro SP3 (which was a recent change, previously SP2)

Jun 1, 2006I used a tutorial for some brushed steel and would like to create something like this but with my own logo. I don't have a clue on how to start with it. Just to be clear, the brushed steel I got, it is the extra layer on top of that I don't know to create.
Photoshop :: CS2 - Curving Brushed Straight Line?
Jul 26, 2012I am still using CS2, and I am having to break up my desired curved lines by repeatedly using the SHIFT key while clicking the next point along my desired curved line. I would like to know if there is a plug-in that would let me pick the starting point as normal, hold down the shift key while I move the mouse to the ending point, and then,after I click and get the straight line with the brush of my choice, I need a way to BEND that line in the pristine shape of a circular or elliptical arc. I need some way to indicate how much arc angle is needed (from a teeny bit to a semicircle), and also how much to skew it towards either of the end points.
The way I am doing this now is
a) create a new layer and draw the straight line, then, delete everything else on this layer but the line, then show the main layer and edit the 2nd layer with warp, and then, finally, use warp to bend and skew the straight line - after all that, I flatten the image back to one layer. The problem with this method is that warp doesn't hold the edges of my formerly straight line (with crisp edges) true, but introduces indentations and juttings which I then have to go and "fix up" by hand.
b) copy the image to MSPaint, and use the bezier cure to draw the curved line I want, and then, copy it back into CS2.
If there is a way to bend my straight lines drawn with my selected brush, and it would keep the edges crisp and smooth, then I sure would like to learn how. The problem with using "paths" and stroking the path is that I cannot see how it will look while drawing the path and, even after I stroke it, that ugly path line with its anchor and control points muddles the picture and I wind up having to delete it and go back. I need to be able to see the FINAL result of bending my curved line while I am adjusting it with no artifacts to interfere with my close examination of the result.

Photoshop :: How To Turn Text Into Gold Leaf
Mar 29, 2012I have searched and found links to make text look like gold leaf but not how to take text that is already there and turn it into gold leaf. This is a diploma I scanned and the word RECOGNITION is in gold leaf on the original. I would like to replicate it as close as possible on a copy but am very limited on Photoshop knowledge. I can select it with the magic wand and then paint fill it another color but the gold color I have looks like plane light yellow when I print it not even close to actual gold.
I know there is way to do this but I am lost on what to do. I dont want to change anything else just the word Recognition to something that looks very close to actual gold leaf.

Feb 24, 2013I've been building up a multi-object 3D environment for learning purposes. My current intent is to add gold ring. Trouble is, I can't seem to make the gold color of the ring very rich at all.
It will only get slightly gold colored and reflections don't seem to be tinted at all. Seems to me I solved this once before but I'll be darned if I can remember how.
What have I forgotten to do to get the gold ring to absorb blue light and reflect white things with a deep gold tint?

I am a jewelry designer with a small home web based business. I offer designs in both silver and gold and wanted to know if I can just change the color of a piece from silver to gold in elements.
