sometimes rendering the RAM-Preview takes some time. while waiting I would like at least to read some articles on the internet. But as soon as I click into an other windows, AE stops rendering.
is there a special setting / workaround to avoid this (user-unfriendly behavior) ?
When I start rendering a composition, I usually just go to a spare monitor to browse the web and do additional work. However whenever I click onto my new monitor, AE stops rendering and gives me the 'finished sound'. Why doesn't it complete rendering? I have to leave my computer alone and keep a window selected in AE for it to complete.

View 3 Replies View RelatedIve gained access to a very powerful 32 core machine. Im using maya but im sure the same applies to 3dsmax, The initiation of each frame is actually single threaded, whereas the rendering itself is multithreaded.
Because of this the cores are not used until the actual rendering starts.Ive noticed that The initiation is taking about 2 mins, whereas as the render is almost instantly complete because it utilizes all 32 cores.
Is their a way to tell backburner to start initiating more then one frame at once on a single computer? Or can the initiation and the actually render be split up into separate jobs?
Any other distributed software packages that might accomplish this?even though the 2 mins isnt that much. The time savings would be significant over thousands of frames.
Rendering at high quality, exterior sun only, 150 DPI and the image is about 9' tall x5' wide. Everything goes great until it hits 26%. Then the bar goes full on 100% but the image is only 26% rendered.
I have a 2gb video card, 4.1Ghz overclocked processor and about 8GB of RAM. Perhaps I havn't allocated enough memory to render an image of this size?
I am using Video StudioPro X4 and rendering a video that is about 15 minutes when it stops at 4% complete, showing the following words: Cannot read audio (0x80004005). Other numbers on the message are: (18300:8000:192). Is there a way to know why it will not continue rendering and/or which audio files to check?

I X3 stops working during the rendering process everytime I try to make a video file. I'm making a 4:3 mpeg 2 file (DVD). I have tried several different ways and the most I can get done is 24%. i have tried to cut out a clip..I get a dump file each time that it tells me to send to Corel.
View 5 Replies View RelatedSo I recently created a 350 frames long animation, which I then tried to render out as an .avi using the mental ray renderer.
I have it set up in the render setup to render from frame 0 - 350, I have also chosen the output format.
Everything seems to work fine and dandy, the frames are rendered out nicely but then all of a sudden after about 40-50 frames it just stops rendering. The little window containing the progress bar just seems to disappear and in the render preview window is a half rendered image.
I have tried redoing this 3 times, but every time it just stops rendering at about the same place. The first time it stopped at frame 43, the second time at frame 47 and the third time somewhere inbetween.
Photoshop CS6 stops working while rendering a HD Basic video. I am using windows 7 32 bit with photoshop CS6.

3D rendering stops when mouse is clicked, regardless of which app has focus or in which app's window the mouse is clicked.
how another app can have focus before the mouse is clicked, Cmd+Tab can be used to switch between apps.
I'm trying to edit a set of titles made in Premiere in After Effects, and after I import the file (as a Premiere file) then load the sequence into the timeline; the preview is just a black screen throughout the entire preview. The titles never show up.

I can uplaod all the images from preview to the LR catalog. But then I have to go into the catalog and delete unwanted images.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI was using Roto Brush for a while today and everything was working as expected. I Roto Brushed about 20 frames, just doing touchups where necessary. However, after a while, Roto Brush just stopped responding to new strokes. I could not add or remove from the mask. I've tried flushing the RAM and then restarting AE but the problem persists.
I'm using After Effects CC on Windows 7 64-bit with 16GB of RAM.
I made a screen cast to show the problem. You'll see me painting to add and remove from the mask on a couple of frames. Roto Brush looks like it's going to do something but then nothing changes in the mask.URL....
So I'm working on this composition with a lot of 3d layers. Sometimes when I switch views, the hand tool stops working completely, for no apparent reason. I hit space, the hand icon still shows, but nothing happens when I drag the cursor. Then after a while it starts working again, for no apparent reason either.

View 4 Replies View RelatedYesterday when I was importing my pictures from the CF card the energy was off for a couple om minutes (a failure in the electrical net in the town) and the computer crashes (or something like that). When electricity came back I restarted LR and tried to import the images once again. Result: images are in the hard disk, they were imported correctly but no preview was rendered at all!. In the preview lrdata folder I can see two files root-pixels and root-pixels.db-journal that are there since yesterday (I do not know what they mean)...if I try to render previews from the Libray menu....nothing happens....seems that LR does not like to render previews from my most recent import..
I do not know what to do with the next import...so my new images are still in the corresponding CF card...
I am using Autocad 2011, when I do a render nothing appears in the Render window. I have material applied to the solids, but the window remains black.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI am animating comps in After Effects CS6, and I'm quickly moving objects across the screen using positioning keyframes and changing size using scaling keyframes. Most of the time it works great; but sometimes the motion blur effect keeps appearing *after* the object has stopped moving. Not just for a second -- but forever. It appears correct when scrubbing on the timeline, but when I render the final output movie, a non-moving object sometimes has motion blur all over it.
Sometimes I can fix it by un-parenting some layers inside the comp... other times it doesn't fix it. Sometimes I just delete it and start over and it works. Seems more like a bug then something I'm doing wrong.
I also tried on my Mac Pro tower and Macbook Pro laptop in case it was a graphics card issue; it isn't, the exact same problem manifests itself in both areas. I did just discover that turning continuous raster OFF does seem to fix the problem--but then my vector images are blurry when I zoom in... and that again sounds more like a bug, not like an incorrect setting.
Importing ceases during the rendering preview process at image 2 of set. Same if using SD or Flash Cards, small or large import. No problems using Bridge so reader is operational.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI am trying to make about a 7 second clip of some photography (converted into that cool 3D paralax effect) with a lens flare and a CC light rays effect. The damn thing took two hours and was less than halfway done, which seemed extremely long to me. Here is my setup:
i7 4770 (2 processes for system, and 6 for AE, with 2 gigs per process)
Nvidia 760 4bg
32 gigs ram (4 set aside for system and the rest for Creative Cloud stuff)
SSD: system, media cache
HDD: projects, files
Everything else I've tried to render has been reasonable times. For instance 5 minute clips usually take about 15 minutes. I've tried variations of the multiprocessing tab to no avail, and changing the media cache to HDD which didn't work also. Just seems like something is going terrible wrong.
So I guess my question is twofold.
1) How important would it be to get another drive? (I'm between adding one SSD or getting 2 HDD's per my budget, which presents another question of would a 2 SSD, 1 HDD setup be better than a 1 SSD, 3 HDD setup)
2) Do I possibly have something configured wrong?
So today I was editing and I finished, so I tried to render it so I can have in a .avi. But once I rendered it I got no errors or nothing. So I went to the desktop were it should have been placed, I loaded it and it didn't render properly after a couple of secs the music stops playing and I didn't get the glow effects or the full edit. How do I fix this tell me if you need sertain information.

I am not sure if the problem is with the mac that i am using or with the settings i have on AE. When I render the composition of 21 seconds video with 1080p 29.97fps it takes 5 hours and eralier i triend rendering again and it takes 7 hours. is this normal?

so everything runs smoothly till i try Rendering my comp in a .mov-Container Codec doesn't matter which one i take. Tried everything from Fotojpeg to DNXHD to png. Nothing Changes. As soon as i swiitch to avi rendering it's really fast. (Project rendered in 5mins whereas i cancelled the rendering after 15mins when trying to render to QT-Fotojpeg)
is there a way to define a sequence of images to be rendered into a movie from the command line, without first creating any composition ? Basically loading media and creating composition by command line or by script ?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a .wav file in my composition that I see the waveform going across the entire composition. If I grab the first 10 seconds of my composition and hit 0 on the number pad, it correctly plays the audio the entire time. When I render that composition, making sure audio is enabled, it doesn't work. The resulting .mov file plays the audio for the first 5 seconds and then just abruptly stops.
I'm using the Creative Cloud version.
I have a fairly basic comp consisting of 3 or 4 3d layers spaced out along the Z axis, two precomps containing some edge lighting effects, a camera, a light, and the troublesome adjustment layer. The adjustment layer only contains some color correction and a flare. I thought perhaps a certain effect may be causing the layer not to render, but i eliminated that possibility by removing the effects i had and trying several other, the layer was still not rendering. I think I have exhausted all of the really simple solutions, nothing is solo'd, all the layers are visible in the preview, the layers are all in the correct order etc.. I can't SS the project right now as I am not at home, but i can tell you that I am working with CS5.5, on windows 8.1, i5 cpu, 8 gigs of ram. The really frustrating part is that a slightly earlier version of the project successfully rendered the adjustment layer and I don't remember changing anything major. Shots in the dark?
