After Effects :: Rendering Composition As PSD File?
Mar 14, 2013I was wondering if there was a way for me to render a full composition in Aftereffects as a Photoshop file (1 document) that contains all the layers?

View 12 RepliesI used to be able to modify my ai file and simply replace the file or reload the footage or composition under the file menu in Aftereffects. Now that I am using CS6, no matter what I do, all of the options for replacing or reloading under File menu are grayed out.

After Effects error: Rendering error while writing to file "E:/ . Unable to open file. (-1610153459)
Rendering to other drives, like C: or D: works fine but as soon as I try to render to the E partiton.I get this error.... It must have something to do with permissions on that partition.I don't want to reinstall windows.
I am self-taught in AE and must have missed something basic here.
I am simply trying to set which image (frame) will appear as the icon for a renedered comp. I understand how to set the poster frame for a comp, and I get the desired result in the project window when the comp is selected. I "set poster time" while the timeline window is selected as well, but when my comp is renedered the icon is always the frame at 10 seconds on the timeline.
I have a composition that I have duplicated and I want to switch out a music file from the copy and then render them both overnight. The timeline ( or whatever the thing is called where the time ruler thing is) only shows my original composition and i want to switch to the other so i can add the music file. How do i do this? i have tried dragging the copy next to the original comp.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am making stereoscopic 3D videos with After Effects. Setting up the rig and rendering work fine, but sometimes the video's convergence is off and I need to make adjustments. I was wondering if there's a way to view the Composition with my 3D glasses before rendering. I'm using an Asus VG248QE monitor with an NVIDIA 3D Vision 2 glasses.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm scaling and repositioning my composition at several points. A curious thing keeps happening though. My composition is moving it's self in between all my points even when they are the same on both sides. I'll have two keyframes with exactly the same positions at different times and in between those exact same keyframes I'll have the composition moving... I have everything symetrical.
View 2 Replies View Relatedi'm trying to loop my composition (72 frames) containing a moving object (a walking chicken, refer to printscreen)
i followed tutorial here [URL] ........
In short, i applied Layer > Time > Enable Time Remapping to my newly created Comp 2. Two key frames were created. I moved to the last frame, and then 1 keyframe backwards and created a new keyframe. Then on the very last keyframe i set the time to 0 and then deleted the penultimate frame (which i had just created). And then added Property > LoopOut(Type="Cycle", numKeyframes = 0) to the layer i want to loop.
however, after applying LoopOut expression, i am no longer able to playback - when i pres Play to preview, the chicken stands still (meanwhile time indicator is moving continuously, indicating that playback is in action).
Thinking that i deleted wrong keyframe, i undid all changes and repeated all steps again but this time i deleted the very last frame and left the penultimate frame (and setting time to 0 ). It did not have any effect - chicken does not move, time indicator is moving/looping in the timeline.
using AE CS6 trial version, windows 7
I have read that you can use Time Remapping to hold the last frame of a png sequence so that you can create a pause between transitions, without importing the last frame or anything.
I have tried the technique described here >>URL.... but I think my workflow is in the way.
My entire animation (+/- 600 frames) has been rendered in 3D and imported as one sequence in AFX. I composite my highlights and shadows in a composition and called it Master. Then I made smaller compositions and placed the Master comp inside them and cut it up to size. I placed the separate sequences in a comp called Stage. So now I can just import one single sequence when I render again.
Now I am trying to let the last frame of the smaller sequences to hold for a few frames, before transitioning into the next. The Time Remapping just doesnt seem to work, because it is not holding anything when I move the last frame, it just shows the next part of the master animation.
Is there a way around this or do I need to import every sequence as a unique set?
So I Installed After Effects CS6 today and I made a new composition to make an intro for a speech in school.I haven't even tried alot of tools yet but for example when I add a text and change the font size I only see the gray background and the rectangle the text is in. The black and the text in there disappears while changing the font size. Also when I use the rectangle tool to select the text, I can't see what I'm selecting because the same thing happens.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm a fairly experienced user and have bought a template from one of the Royalty Free sites. However, as in the title, AE (CS5 and a CC trial) both crash when I go near some of the compositions. I say 'some' becasue it only seems to be a few that are problematic.I've downloaded the zip again and tried all sorts like renaming the project, emptying the cache, using the Collect Files option to try a new project and downloaded a CC trial but all the same.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to import some Adobe Illustrator files into After Effects so that I can animate them. As far as I understand, I need to import them as a composition so that the layers will remain separate from each other.
However whenever I try to do this, I go through the whole process- select the file, select composition, click OK, it does nothing. The file does not appear anywhere in my project, it's as if I haven't done anything.
I'm creating a advertising video using a iPad tablet in the video. This iPad tablet rotates throughout the video with messages that popup on the ipad screen in different sections. As of right now I have 5 compositions within this iPad video. I created a 6th composition and when I overlay it on top of my 5th composition it would show up in the wrong spot. It either A: Only showed my 6th composition and not my 5th or B. Never shows my 6th composition.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm currently using a free typography template.
The template has 8 compositions and I'm trying to arrange the compositions to play in the order I'd like them to play.
I tried copying/pasting the layers into a pre-existing composition but the text overlaps with the other text layers.
I also tried to pre compose the layers and then copy/paste that into a composition but it also overlaps. Then I tried to drag it to the bottom and/or move the bar on the sequence but it won't appear when i play.
Having trouble working with a large composition and camera work. The size is 11264 x 6928 and when I add in my camera it wants to be comp size. But the size I only want the camera to show is 1920 x 1080.
Is there anyway to edit or unlink the camera and composition sizes so that they are separate? I have tried editing the comp size , adding in a camera at that point and then resizing the comp, but the camera resizes with it!!!
At the moment my work around is having the cameras z position closer to the comp and having this large comp nested within a regular 1920 x 1080. This seems all a bit unnessary though.
I have been using After Effects for quite a while now and it is a great tool. But today, I reinstall my PC because of performance issues. And I straight away install After Effects CC. But when I open After Effects, the composition windows is fully white. And when I make a new composition it stays the same.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to make a mobile app overview and I want to add a little "tapping" animation a whole bunch of times for parts where a button is tapped and so forth. I made an animation of a circle scaling quickly to show the tapping.
The only way I can think of doing this is painstakingly mapping out its position keyframes for the different times in the timeline along with setting hundreds of keyframes for the scale. Is there a way I can just animate it once and then just insert it on various parts of the timeline?
I have a composition made up of 3 layers. Two text layers and one vector shape as an AI file. I would like the shape to spin on the Y axis (which requires 3d to be selected) - but when I select the 3D checkbox on the shape layer, the entire composition (text included) rotates 90 on the X axis. So effectively selecting 3D makes the whole composition flat so the starting point is altered.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI need to time-stretch a whole comp. It's based on a Video blocks template, but for the purposes of this particular piece, I don't need to stretch the template itself, individual layers/clips/avi files, etc... The entire composition is moving about four times faster than it really needs to. Nothing needs to be individually adjusted; it's an "overall" issue-- I just need to stretch the 15 second time uniformly to one minute. For some reason, I'm having a lot of trouble finding out how to do this. Changing the duration/ time stretch has just created a sixty second video with fifteen seconds at the same speed and then forty-five seconds of black. There HAS to be a simple way to do this...
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an issue of a ghost image appearing in the composition background. I can't figure out how it got there or how to remove it. It's really annoyong as the image also appears in rendered videos.
This only seems to appear when my composition settings is set at 1024 x 576 px, which I must use for projects. If I increase the composition size by 1 pixel, the image disappears, change it back and it reappears.
note, that there is no files in my project and the image still appears.
I have a sequence that has some video that I wanted to edit in After Effects. I right-clicked on the video in the sequence and selected "Replace with After Effects composition" and did my editing. It shows up in the sequence as Linked Comp 5 but Premiere will not or cannot load the media. Why is this and how can I fix it? I have already closed the program and rebooted to no effect.
View 3 Replies View Relatedi would simply like to automatically have the layer shown in the timeline as soon as i select it in the composition window. Sometimes there are so many layer that i will have to look for it. I know, i can just press p (for example) a few times and it will show. But this could mess up what i have already opened in this layer.
View 2 Replies View RelatedLive Composition Preview Window...Vector graphics are blurred even though I have the 'Continuously Rasterize' button selected. I’m using the latest After Effects and Illustrator. Other compositions within the same ae project are all 100%, then when I started another new composition, the graphics are blurred, making it incredibly difficult to work out what I’m animating as I need to zoom in and it blurs a lot. It is not a RAM issue with the MAC. was going great creating motion graphics, then all of a sudden his happens and I’ve tried everything.
View 8 Replies View RelatedThe best way to explain, is probably just say it shows up when you add "Time Remapping" to a layer.. Is there any way to show a time signature like this, without editing the layer?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am relatively new to After Effects CC and am using it to create a stop motion film with a large amount of photos.Usually, when importing the individual images into my composition panel, a sequence of editable rectangles appears in the composition panel allowing me to edit the frame length of the still photos.
After around 950 imported images, the little rectangles suddenly stopped showing up. But when looking at a preview of the project, it's as if the photos are in there, in the sequence they should be. I'm just unable to edit them like the previous ones with rectangles showing.
The area of issue is where you see the descending sequence of boxes in the comp panel. The red tracking bar is there to show that there are still photos continuing the sequence.
Is there a reason that After Effects keeps crashing and only getting to a certain render point when pressing "0"? If I split projects into different compositions I don't tend to get the same issues, but it's more pain than it's worth spiting one video into 4 parts.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI am trying to make about a 7 second clip of some photography (converted into that cool 3D paralax effect) with a lens flare and a CC light rays effect. The damn thing took two hours and was less than halfway done, which seemed extremely long to me. Here is my setup:
i7 4770 (2 processes for system, and 6 for AE, with 2 gigs per process)
Nvidia 760 4bg
32 gigs ram (4 set aside for system and the rest for Creative Cloud stuff)
SSD: system, media cache
HDD: projects, files
Everything else I've tried to render has been reasonable times. For instance 5 minute clips usually take about 15 minutes. I've tried variations of the multiprocessing tab to no avail, and changing the media cache to HDD which didn't work also. Just seems like something is going terrible wrong.
So I guess my question is twofold.
1) How important would it be to get another drive? (I'm between adding one SSD or getting 2 HDD's per my budget, which presents another question of would a 2 SSD, 1 HDD setup be better than a 1 SSD, 3 HDD setup)
2) Do I possibly have something configured wrong?
So today I was editing and I finished, so I tried to render it so I can have in a .avi. But once I rendered it I got no errors or nothing. So I went to the desktop were it should have been placed, I loaded it and it didn't render properly after a couple of secs the music stops playing and I didn't get the glow effects or the full edit. How do I fix this tell me if you need sertain information.
