View 2 RepliesAfter I drawn a Polyline or rectangle, I wasn't able to Snap the Object. So measuring was a hard thing to do.I found a solution to this bug: Disable the Linetype Generation. After that snapping will work again.
This problem occurred out of nowhere. It always worked without changing the linetype generation.
I use GIMP 2.6.8 - when I switch to "path" tool or to "free select tool" mouse pointer is allowed to set vertices of the path or selection on non-integer coordinates (i.e. at x=13.5 and y=26.8 pixels)
How can I disable this feature and make mouse pointer (or vertex) snap to pixel boundary (or even to grid). I want it to be able to create paths / selections more accurately sometimes.
(or could I at least enter coordinates for each next vertex manually)
I am working on Autocad 2012, and am having a problem drawing on faces under another face, whilst working on 3d objects. I have the view set to 2d wireframe, and can select objects underneath whilst not drawing/modifying anything, however as soon as i try to draw it just selects the uppermost face to draw on.
Is there a button to allow me to snap to different layers whilst drawing?
I have my grid set to 10px (with subdivisions set to 1). Snap to Grid is enabled. I had "Align New Objects To Pixel Grid" checked when I created the document.
When I draw an object, it will snap to the 10px grid as I am drawing it. However, when I go to move the object around, it will not snap to the grid at all. In Photoshop and Fireworks, this was a piece of cake, but in Illustrator I've never been able to get this to work, nor find a solution for it. The only way I can kind of get it to work is to set my grid to 1px, but I really don't want to be zooming in that far constantly when moving things around.
For what it's worth, this is happening in Illustrator CC, but I've had this same issue with older versions as well.
I have a slightly unusual query that I can't seem to find a solution for elsewhere. I have an existing OS plan that is 'off grid', and would like to adjust the vertices at the ends of all the existing lines and polylines so that they all sit on a grid point. Is there a quick command or script that does this?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have imported a 2d drawing of a vehicle into coral draw x5 from auto cad. Problem is that when I zoom in all the lines do not seem to be joined especially curves, this in turn makes it a pain when filling with colour. I have recently traced one side manually using line and curve tools but my question is, is there s quicker way of tracing a dxf without manually doing it? And if so how to do it?

View 6 Replies View RelatedWe recently had a draftsman that drew with snap on (he no longer works here), and now all the drawings he worked on have this setting turned on. I thought it would be as simple as opening up the drawings and either hitting F9 or clicking on the toggle to turn off snap. That doesn't seem to be the case. Snap mode seems to be tied to individual sheets, and every viewport. I have multiple sheets in a drawing and each sheet has multiple viewports. The last thing I want to do is open every drawing, click in every viewport on every sheet to turn off snap.
I have snapmode set to 0, but it will only turn it of in whatever sheet or viewport is active. I have to write a lisp routine that will go through every viewport on every sheet to set snapmode to 0?
I have a drawing in CAD (2013) and I am trying to assigned a Geo-coordinate system so I can import it into my ArcMap GIS program with the coordinates assigned to it already. Is there any way of doing this?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a STEP file which is of a part similar to the rudder of a boat or an oar blade but twisted at the end, and I have to draw the split line to match the profile of the blade. I imagine I have to use a 3D sketch because of the twist and we are guessing that the split line will run down the apex of the blade, but I don't know how to get the 3D sketch to "stick" to the apex (there is no real apex as it's curved).

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have imported an IGES file in Inventor and I need to dimension and detaill the piece in a 2D drawing. The thread and hole wizard does not recognize the holes in the workpiece as holes. Also I sectional view does not display hatched areas of the workpiece even though I have the display option checked on. Is there any sort of feature recognition within Inventor that I can use to import all geometry so that inventor understands?
I am working with 2011 Pro and have about 1500 hours on the program so far.
I was considering redrawing the workpiece by creating a part within an assembly and overlaying the two pieces on top another and using refernece geometry but this might not be the most ideal method.
How can I make an imported scan of a line drawing "transparent" and add color fills to various sections, using the freehand tool ? I have done this many times with an older version of CorelDraw, but in CorelDraw- x5 the
imported scan includes a white background (even when I select NO FILL), so that my freehand tool selections are either on top of, or hidden behind the white background.
Snap commands in X6? I can not get the snap to grid to turn off. The button is off and the setting is set to off in options. Objects seem to snap all over not just to the grid. And the grid snap seems to be out of alignment-I cant seem to get objects to snap exactly to the grid.
The same files reopened in X5 are fine. This started with yesterdays install of 6.2. leaving X2 completely unusable.
Is there any way one can convert an imported photo in Jpeg or Bmp or Tiff or any other format into lines in a drawing?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to snap one object to the other with vert snap.
It's trying to snap from the center of my object rather then the vert I am hovering over. In the Snap settings I have only "vertex" checked so it should snap to whatever vertex I hover over but no...This keeps up I'm going back to 2008 when all this worked fine.
Previously i`m using version 2009 and importing Google earth image and surface works fine. However, recently i tried with version 2010 and i`m having some problem here (imported surface / contour seems ok but the image is too large like 3x or 4x). How to solve that?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a dwg that someone imported and I cannot find where this object is. I have tried searching the database with DBLink, Ideate BIMLink and I have gone into every view to no avail. I also used the reviTTools add-in which says there are no drawings in the file. Am I dealing with a corrupted file? I am super OCD and this is in our Template which makes it an even bigger problem.
View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen I drag around vector points of paths they are not constrained to the pixel grid, when the option "Snap Vector Tools and Transform to Pixel Grid" is off. This is the behavior I expect.BUT: When I drag whole paths, they snap to the pixel grid, no matter what. I even have snapping completely disabled.
This is particularly annoying when eg. creating a path for a zipper. I first make a path for the inside of the jacket or whatever, then I make one notch for the zipper and copy it over and over again for all the notches. It's very troubling when these elements snap to the pixel grid, because it's very unprecise then.
I create a graphic in Corel Draw X4 and export it as a .png file. It is a button with rounded corners. It will be going on a black background when put into an iphone app. So as to not have the little white corners show up from the rectangular export window, I made the button on top of a black rectangle, slightly larger than the button. I then selected the black to be transparant during the dialogs of exporting to png. When viewed in an image viewer the black is indeed transparent and does not show up. All looks fine.
To test what it will look like when put on top of a black background, I also make a black square and export it as a .png. I then open the black background in Corel Photopaint and then import the graphic into the background image. A siloutte of it shows up with the marque borders but the graphic itself (the colors and contents of the graphic don't). When combined with the black background it just disappears. Why doesn't it just lay on top of the other graphic?
In every previous version of VS that I can remember, clips on different tracks had the ability to "snap-to" other clips. For example, I could maneuver the end of an audio clip close to the end of my video clip and it would snap to the end of it, aligning perfectly. Not so in X4. And I can't find any setting to enable it.
View 3 Replies View Relatedbehavior with the SNAP-TO behavior and pasted text. I went to an image that had a text layer, CTRL + A to select all, CTRL + C to copy to clipboard, when to a NEW image and pressed CTRL + V to paste (as a new layer). This works fine.
I then take the Mo(V)e tool and drag the text to the bottom right of the image (it's a copyright notice) and as SOON as I let go, the text snaps back to the center of the image (where it was originally placed when I pasted)
Under VIEW, SNAP is off. I even unticked everything in that menu to be sure, and it keeps snapping back. I have to end up presing SHIFT + ARROWKEYS in order to get it where I want, and for it NOT to snap back.
using a pen tool in Photoshop. When I use a pen tool it snap my path to whole pixels. Is there any settings where I could set that my paths which I make with pen tool won t be snapped to whole pixels. Just want to anywhere where I click to make new path/ anchor point will be exactly at this place without snaping?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI've been drawing with Autocad for many years now, I've just upgraded to LT2012.
My problem is with the object snaps. They don't seem accurate enough. For e.g. I'll use end point to snap to a line or a corner and it will seem to work, but when I zoom in the object or the lines are not one on top of each other as they should be.
I'm doing drawings right now and the problem is just compounding as I continue. Nothing is perpendicular or parallel as they should be.
I have a pdf underlay in my dwg file and I found I can snap the object in it, end point, mid point, etc. Is this mean there are some ARX functions to retrieve the object in pdf underlay?
View 5 Replies View RelatedIf I select Free Transform on a selection, and then try to move that selection around on the screen, while I'm moving it, it snaps, and I don't want this 'snap'. How do I disable it? I KNOW that you don't always need to select Free Transform to move a selection, but I NEED to in this case.
View 1 Replies View RelatedFrom time to time, when either moving text with a grip, or placing a dimension, or drawing a line or whatever, AutoCAD just randomly decides to snap to zero, zero. I might be miles away from zero, zero, but it still snap me there. The only way I can get around it is to turn my OSNAP off, do what I have to do and then turn it back on again. REALLY annoying. I'm using ACAD 2008, but I remember having this problem on earlier releases too.
