behavior with the SNAP-TO behavior and pasted text. I went to an image that had a text layer, CTRL + A to select all, CTRL + C to copy to clipboard, when to a NEW image and pressed CTRL + V to paste (as a new layer). This works fine.
I then take the Mo(V)e tool and drag the text to the bottom right of the image (it's a copyright notice) and as SOON as I let go, the text snaps back to the center of the image (where it was originally placed when I pasted)
Under VIEW, SNAP is off. I even unticked everything in that menu to be sure, and it keeps snapping back. I have to end up presing SHIFT + ARROWKEYS in order to get it where I want, and for it NOT to snap back.

We recently had a draftsman that drew with snap on (he no longer works here), and now all the drawings he worked on have this setting turned on. I thought it would be as simple as opening up the drawings and either hitting F9 or clicking on the toggle to turn off snap. That doesn't seem to be the case. Snap mode seems to be tied to individual sheets, and every viewport. I have multiple sheets in a drawing and each sheet has multiple viewports. The last thing I want to do is open every drawing, click in every viewport on every sheet to turn off snap.
I have snapmode set to 0, but it will only turn it of in whatever sheet or viewport is active. I have to write a lisp routine that will go through every viewport on every sheet to set snapmode to 0?

Snap commands in X6? Â I can not get the snap to grid to turn off. Â The button is off and the setting is set to off in options. Â Objects seem to snap all over not just to the grid. Â And the grid snap seems to be out of alignment-I cant seem to get objects to snap exactly to the grid.
The same files reopened in X5 are fine. Â This started with yesterdays install of 6.2. leaving X2 completely unusable.

I'm trying to snap one object to the other with vert snap.
It's trying to snap from the center of my object rather then the vert I am hovering over. In the Snap settings I have only "vertex" checked so it should snap to whatever vertex I hover over but no...This keeps up I'm going back to 2008 when all this worked fine.

When I drag around vector points of paths they are not constrained to the pixel grid, when the option "Snap Vector Tools and Transform to Pixel Grid" is off. This is the behavior I expect.BUT: When I drag whole paths, they snap to the pixel grid, no matter what. I even have snapping completely disabled.
Â
This is particularly annoying when eg. creating a path for a zipper. I first make a path for the inside of the jacket or whatever, then I make one notch for the zipper and copy it over and over again for all the notches. It's very troubling when these elements snap to the pixel grid, because it's very unprecise then.

Is there any settings where I could set that my paths which I make with pen tool won t be snapped to whole pixels. Just want to anywhere where I click to make new path/ anchor point will be exactly at this place without snaping?

If I select Free Transform on a selection, and then try to move that selection around on the screen, while I'm moving it, it snaps, and I don't want this 'snap'. How do I disable it? I KNOW that you don't always need to select Free Transform to move a selection, but I NEED to in this case.

The one with the glasses and lank hair, sitting at the back with no mates!
Now have CS3, and cant get the selection to snap!
When using the MARQUEE it positions the selection 2 pixels up and 1 pixel to the left of the guide (on the outside).
The guides will snap to the selection, however.
Sometimes when GUIDES are LOCKED the selection will snap to a guide, but not always.
Also, in the old days the curser would turn red when on a guide when lined up corrctly. This doesn't seem to happen now.
And in the mists of time do I remember correctly that there was a setting in which you could choose the snap distance?

Okay, there has to be an easy answer to this. When using the crop tool, I might want to just crop one or two pixels from a side, but when I get to within about 10 pixels, it snaps to the original border. I don't want to crop to the original border ... that is why I have the crop tool out.

Move tool was always snapping objects I'm moving before... What I meant by snap is, for example, I'll move an object right beside the left end of the document, it'll snap. And if ever I want to add a tiny bit of space between those two, I'll hold ctrl so it'll get rid of that 'snap' function.
Â
Since the time I upgraded to CS6 Extended, It was working fine for a while. Until days ago, the problem started occuring. It won't snap anymore.

Set-up: Photoshop CS6 64; Windows 7 64: Taskbar set to fixed view on the left hand side of a 2-monitor set-up. Card: nVidia Quatro FX3800: All latest drivers
Â
Issue: Untabbed document windows cannot be repositioned on either monitor as it "snaps" back to left-hand edge of the left monitor. Every time it is dragged to reposition and released, more of the document vanishes off the left hand side of the monitor until it is no longer visible.
Â
Temporary Fix:Â Either tab the document window or move the taskbar to the bottom edge of the screen or set to auto hide. Can we have a patch please - as this isn't the method I work.

I am having problems with the crop tool. It is supposed to snap to my guides, but it is very haphazard about this. Sometimes it is a pixel or 2 off on one or more edges. This means I have to pay very close attention while cropping, and double check the accuracy of results. This slows me way down. I do mostly web graphics, where pixel accurate crops are essential. I already tried resetting the crop tool. I am using a Mac Pro, early 2008, with 10 GB RAM, and Mountain Lion 10.8.1.

I'm currently using Photoshop CS6. Currently I have my Grid set up for every 10 pixels and 1 subdivision for each. I know how to use the "Control + ' " shortcut to toggle the Grid on and off. When I have the Grid turned on, items will snap to it. However, when I have the Grid off, items won't.
This was one thing I really liked about Fireworks, was that it would continue to snap to a Grid even if it wasn't visible. Any way to accomplish this in Photoshop?

When I first installed Photoshop 6, my Workspace was snapped into the right side of the screen; it was attached to that side. Somehow I have managed to pull it off there, and I would really like to put it back, but I can't figure out how. I'm including a screen shot, since I'm sure I'm not describing the problem well at all.Â

A customer of mine runs PS CS4 and when they free transform proportionally (holding down Shift while resizing a corner of an image), the image does not snap to any cyan guide lines. If they just drag a side of the image, however, it snaps to the guide with no problem.

Snap to grid absolutely will not disable in PSE 9!! I tried previous posters' instructions to make the grid veiwable, then uncheck "snap to grid," and it unchecks, but still snaps!! Amazing. how on earth to actually get it to turn off? Holding down the CNTRL key does at least temporarily disable the feature, but I really hate to have to do that every time.

It seems there may be a bug in Adobe Elements 11.Â
Â
"Snap to" doesn't seem to be able to be shut off. When I hold down the control key snap ceases, but with any normal movement, even with both GUIDES and GRID unchecked... the system is still snapping to some setting somewhere, and I can't seem to turn it off.

I need the anchor points to snap to whatever I have my gridlines and subdivisions set to in preferences along with guides I place. When I make the initial anchor points, they snap, but moving them after that, they don't snap. I see the new snap vector to pixel grid, but for the majority of my projects, that will not be used.
Â
I have snap check marked and snap to all selected. Never had this problem before CS6.

I'm in PSE 10 and when I crop a small portion of an image and accept the crop, it remains a small image instead of snapping to a larger image like it did in PSE 6. I know there must be some way to have the small image automatically made larger rather than having to click on the magnifier and "+" and then on the image until it is a size I can work on. I've checked the FAQs and Photoshop Elements 10 but can't find the answer.

In every previous version of VS that I can remember, clips on different tracks had the ability to "snap-to" other clips. For example, I could maneuver the end of an audio clip close to the end of my video clip and it would snap to the end of it, aligning perfectly. Not so in X4. And I can't find any setting to enable it.
