Photoshop Elements :: Snap To Border On Cropping Is Not Always Right

Nov 3, 2013

I would like to set a preference or something so that If I don't want the section to snap to the border when cropping that it does not.  I can judge it over but that is extra steps to take.

Photoshop :: Automatic Cropping To A Given Border Distance

Mar 27, 2012

Given some hand drawings which are firmly black on white background (no greys of any kind), is it possible to somehow (in CS5 for Mac) to crop an image in such a fashion that a specified amount of white space is left around the drawings? I.e., determine a 'bounding box' for the drawing and then enlarge it by so much in either direction, then crop?

Photoshop Elements :: Image Cropping Changes

Jan 26, 2013

Just installed Elements 11 on a new Asus ET2300 all-in-one with Windows 8.  Resolution is set at a recommended 1920x1080.  I opened a jpeg in Elements and cropped the image to a square, but when I hit Print, what I see on the print set-up screen (and what actually prints) is an image with a good part of the top and bottom missing (although there is also a small image in the upper left corner that looks intact).  I tried setting the computer resolution to 1600x900 and the image was severely cropped on the sides. If I choose one of the other resolution options, I guess that I might get a square or something close to it, but I assume that will effect my results in viewing venues.

Photoshop Elements :: Cropping JPG Scanned Document

Jan 19, 2013

I am using PSE 9 to crop JPEG scaned documents.  In the past I have cropped these images and used the crop box to center the scanned image.  The crop box usually goes past the edge of the document.  When I did this in the past, the area off the document and inside the crop box would turn white, which is what I need it to do.  Now it is turning black. how to get it back to defalting to white.

Photoshop Elements :: Sizing For Print Without Cropping?

Jan 1, 2014

I shoot on a canon 5dIII  ( Raw + JPeg  5760x3840), and own Photoshop Elements 10.  I shot some family group photos.  I framed leaving little headroom, but love the composition.  I never expected for the image to be cropped for any reason.  My mother in law wants to get the images printed at a box store as 5x7's and 8x10's.  For each of those sizes, the photo lab keeps cropping heads off of the images.  So, I realize that I need to send her properly sized files.  I cannot for the life of me figure out how to resize the images, without having to crop them.  Is this impossible.  When I choose Image, Resize, and unclick Resample, I cannot enter 5x7 or 8x10.  I also cannot enter those sizes with Resample clicked on.  I've read and watched tutorials, but am still confused.  Is this not possible to do without having to crop some portion of the image?  Here's a really embarassing question as well:  When I see 5x7 I'm interpreting that as 5 High x 7 Wide is that correct?

Photoshop Elements :: Cannot Disable Snap To Grid In 9

Jun 15, 2011

Snap to grid absolutely will not disable in PSE 9!! I tried previous posters' instructions to make the grid veiwable, then uncheck "snap to grid," and it unchecks, but still snaps!! Amazing. how on earth to actually get it to turn off? Holding down the CNTRL key does at least temporarily disable the feature, but I really hate to have to do that every time.

Photoshop Elements :: Cannot Disable (Snap To) In Adobe 11

"Snap to" doesn't seem to be able to be shut off.  When I hold down the control key snap ceases, but with any normal movement, even with both GUIDES and GRID unchecked... the system is still snapping to some setting somewhere, and I can't seem to turn it off.

I've tried isolating the head or face using the Quick Selection Tool, and then Image/Crop, but I cannot get a clean edge; it's surrounded by an angular border, no matter what I do.

Is this impossible to do with curvy shaped image elements?

Photoshop Elements :: Get A Cropped Image To Snap To A Larger Size?

Oct 18, 2012

I'm in PSE 10 and when I crop a small portion of an image and accept the crop, it remains a small image instead of snapping to a larger image like it did in PSE 6. I know there must be some way to have the small image automatically made larger rather than having to click on the magnifier and "+" and then on the image until it is a size I can work on. I've checked the FAQs and Photoshop Elements 10 but can't find the answer.

AutoCad :: Turn Snap Mode Off Globally (Snap Not Osnap)

Nov 8, 2011

We recently had a draftsman that drew with snap on (he no longer works here), and now all the drawings he worked on have this setting turned on. I thought it would be as simple as opening up the drawings and either hitting F9 or clicking on the toggle to turn off snap. That doesn't seem to be the case. Snap mode seems to be tied to individual sheets, and every viewport. I have multiple sheets in a drawing and each sheet has multiple viewports. The last thing I want to do is open every drawing, click in every viewport on every sheet to turn off snap.

I have snapmode set to 0, but it will only turn it of in whatever sheet or viewport is active. I have to write a lisp routine that will go through every viewport on every sheet to set snapmode to 0?
