when I am in Nitrous display mode the Xref scene functionality is broken. I can load an xref scene but can't make it display as box. If I check the "Box" field nothing happens. Everything works ok though when in Direct3D or OpenGL display mode.

I'm using max 13 with the latest update. It is randomly hanging when i try to remove xref scenes from camera match files that use vray camera. I am forced to terminate max by using task manager. rebooting has not solved the problem.

i've looked everywhere i can think of and the only place i can find a reference to the hidden xref controller is in the asset manager where it lists a file in the xref tree - how on earth do i get rid of this file? there is nothing present in the xref dialog for deleting or anywhere else i can think of.
"xref object blow up max on loading scene" thats all I can add only into the scene I have a CAT rig, some cylinders with skin,cloth,ffd modyficators. After importing and xref object i close max. Then, when I am trying to open max with xrefobject i get an error. I unchecked the "automatic update" option, with to effect- still max cant open the scene and gimme an error.

In other words all of the objects including the hidden ones are displayed. How I can leave my reference objects and layers in my original scene but not display them if I include the file as an xref scene.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a large scan project (Scene 5.0's new file structure) that contains a few registered workspaces (*.fws) and I would like to import at least one into AutoCAD 2013. I followed the workflow of going to Insert>Point Cloud>Create Point Cloud, and I selected the *.fws that I wanted to import (or rather have indexed into a *.PCG).
As soon as I hit 'Create' I get an error that says 'FAILURE! Fail to open scan file" and nothing happens. I can import *.fls, but they are not registered.
Does FARO not support AutoCAD 2013?
I have a model with jpg textures.
I renamed all the textures to tif textures and now 3ds Max tells me that there are still missing jpeg textures.
I followed the tutorials on the web to fix these issues : I mean by using the material/map browser but I can't find the "root Only" checkbox that is in 3ds Max 2009.
How can I display all the maps used in the scene ?
On AutoCAD 2010, my x-ref does not load properly on one file and does on another one, detach it does not work.

How to make a synchronization between the scene in After Effects and PSD file?
Such a problem - was created composition from PSD, I made animations in AE, and then in the PSD appeared new layers that are not picked up automatically like old layers.
Using PN, I set up 2 levels. Level 1 at 0'-0", Level 2 at 10'-0". I create a Level 1 construct and create my AEC model. I then create my Level 2 construct and xref my Level 1 construct in to use as an underlay. However, using OOTB Medium display configuration I cannot see the Level 1 xref because the Level 2 cut plane is at 3'-6" and the Level 1 construct is 10'-0" below this cut plane. Is this the intended result?
To allow me to see my Level 1 xref in my Level 2 construct, I am required to override the global cut plane in my Level 1 construct and set my wall cut planes, for *each* wall style, to 3'-6". After saving the Level 1 construct, I reload in the Level 2 construct, and the walls appear, as an underlay, in the Level 2 construct as desired.
Is this the only way to see one xref above or below the other? Isnt one of the major advantages of using xrefs is as underlays for stacking levels?I dont have to override the global cut plane in all my wall styles.
I am trying to rename all the xref's on the drawing with suffix "_renamed" With the code shown below , I am able to do this. But the problem I am facing is once the code renamed and reloaded the xref, the Xref-dependent layer properties are changing to Xref source layer properties.
Also the VISRETAIN variable is 1. Please find the code below.

i looking a way for create a block after selected a Xref.
It is for display the path+Name of my Xref.
It use fields manualy put i can copy/paste the bloc. (ObjectId not egual in a 2 dwg).
I want :
1 - selec the Xref --> I know how to do that.
2 - create a bloc --> I know.
3 - create a att -> i know
4 - fill the att with the field --> ???

I have a autocad file with MEP pipe objects (piping layout inside a building). If I start a new drawing using our company (dwt) template then xref in the cad file with the MEP objects they do not display. If I start a new drawing using one of autocads default (dwt) templates then xref in the MEP objects they display fine. My question is somewhere in our company template is a setting for MEP objects to be displayed .
The original model, in shade visual style, all objects are distinct and separate objects as they should be. However, when an xref is loaded (overlay) the model (display) jumps and the objects that were distinct now appear mingled together. Also, when you hover over an object it's highlight outline does not align with the object, it is offset from it approximately the amount of the display jump. I compared display and visual style settings from other model drawings that did not have this problem but came up with nothing that worked. More than one model drawing on this particular project created by another discipline has this problem, whereas on a previous project models by another discipline never had this problem and neither do models created within my dicipline.

I'm working on one of our standard layouts for a client. Our typical drawing setup is the base drawing file, surrounded by our Xref'ed border. On said border Xref, we have all the information that does not change between drawings (Revision history, address of job site, etc). The only things that change - and, thus, are not on the xref - are the title of each individual sheet and their number; in the case of these objects, they are located on the drawing file itself in the appropriate position. They are, however, the same font as the text in the Xref - "Standard". Or, at least, they're supposed to be.
The text in the base drawing file seems to be a different version of the text from the Xref - a much blockier, sharper-edged version than the Xref text. My first response was "Okay - I'll just copy/paste the text from the border into my base drawing file, and force the existing text to match the properties of the imported text."
This, however, did not work. The imported text automatically assumed the same form as the existing text. Here's a screenshot from the base drawing, illustrating this (The "Mechanical Plan" also exists on the base drawing, and not the Xref):
I copied the existing text from the base drawing (In this case, the "Mechanical Plan") and pasted it directly into the Xref itself, to see what would happen. Apparently, it wants to stay blocky:
In the latter example, I even tried to force the blocky text to assume the properties of the smooth text via MA (Match properties). I specifically need to make the text in the base drawing conform to the style that the text is assuming in the Xref - which is to say "Smooth."
Why do our feature lines all come in as the color white when xreffed into a drawing? Feature lines show up just fine in our topo drawing, so then we xref it into our design drawing and they all show as if the color is white when is is not in the layer properties. All other items (symbols, points, and lines) come in as the color they were drawn in the topo drawing.

I have a few problems with my autoCAD 2010 version on my new computer.When I make a few hatches, there is a possibility that my entire computer freezes and the only way out is a hard shut down of my computer.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have objects in a layer and I want them displayed as wireframe. The problem is that it seems that I can't do that when in Nitrous diplay mode!
I go to the layer properties, choose wireframe in the upper right corner and set all the objects' display properties to "By Layer". And nothing happens! They are still displayed shaded. When I switch to Direct3D display mode however everything works perfectly fine as it should.
There's something I've noticed with Nitrous. Many things in Max don't work fine when it's used - Xrefs can't be displayed as box, edges are breaking up (non-continuous) and tend to disappear when at the periphery of an object. And now, layer properties don't work as well? What gives?! I thought Nitrous was the recommended display driver (at least that's what it says in Preferences) but it turns out that important functionality is broken when you use it so you have to revert back to the good old Direct3D.
Is Adobe going to make Lightroom 10 bit display pipeline capability?
