3ds Max Animation :: Stretch FK Setup Not Able To Rotate At The Elbow

Sep 19, 2013

I'm trying to make a FK arm with the ability to stretch in Max 2012, but as soon as I assign an orient constraint to the elbow, the stretch ability disappears.

The file consists of two bones, two spline controllers, and an expose transform.  The upper arm bone is orient and position constrained to the shoulder controller spline. The exposed transform reports the distance between the elbow spline controller and the upper arm bone.  The lower arm bone, has a "Float Script" on the X Position transform and it takes the distance reported in the exposed transform to adjust its position relative to the upper arm bone.

If I select bone_elbow and assign an orient constraint, the "Float Script" on the position stops working, but the rotation works.

(I'm trying to keep the controllers out of the heirarchy of the bones because our game engine will export them and I'm trying to avoid that)

3ds Max Animation :: Setup System That Allows To Rotate Point 1 / 2 Joints To Place Downstream Spheres Into Specific Locations

Apr 6, 2012

I am trying to setup a a system that allows me to rotate Point 1 and 2 joints to place downstream spheres into specific locations such that the distance and angles between the spheres don't change.

Everything works the way I want (so far), but Sphere04 goes the opposite direction of its IK chain.

What am I doing wrong?

3ds Max :: How To Rotate Joint Hip Or Elbow

May 24, 2012

I am new to the forum and in 3dsmax.

I was building some picture about a dummy using gym equipment (for example a leg extension) and I started with Daz studio pro; but working I understood I needed a software to build the equipments (there are only a few libraries) this is why I decided to use 3dsmax. Now i tried to import the dummy builted in Daz in 3ds, using the .obj export function.

the truble is: if I export the 3dsmax's design I creatd as .obj, I daz I can't see colours; if I import the dummy builted in Daz as .obj, in 3ds max I am not able to rotate joint (for example hip or elbow) because it removes the arm without rotating it (for example I would like to make the dummy held a rope).

AutoCad :: Dynamic Block - Rotate / Stretch Along A Linear Path

Nov 19, 2013

I am trying to have a dynamic block that will show the profile of a steel plate, detailing the angle of a bevel. Including the plate thickness, the land, gap and the actual angle of the bevel. I've gotten most of it figured out, but having a grip to SET the angle at a specific number, while maintaining the drawing's integrity is proving difficult. I have attached the block I have created so far (minus the previous attempts to rotate the beveled angle).

BVL_detail.dwg

The base point of the rotate parameter should be at the junction of the bevel & land. I need it to stay connected to the end point of the top-most flat line as it rotates, which means the lines need to stretch to match the changing angle. It will either rotate that line along with it, or if I apply a stretch tool, it gets all disconnected and just plain wrong.

One of the things I am liking about my current set up is I can grab a grip, and then type the number I need and it will pop on into place. Was hoping for the same effect if I typed in the angle, it would be exactly that, while also adjusting the drawing.

AutoCad :: Create Dynamic Block Using Stretch And Rotate Parameter

Apr 26, 2013

I have a block of a circle and a line coming from the left and right side quadrant of the circle to a common point (see pic). I want to create a dynamic block using a Stretch and Rotate parameter. You select the block, the Rotate point (grip) shows at the end of the two lines. I can grab that grip and rotate both lines and circle by moving this point around the screen, but cannot Stretch this point to a new location at the same time. How can I have the Rotation end point follow the Stretch parameter?

AutoCAD 2010 :: Dynamic Block Rotate Part And Stretch Arcs To Stay Connected

Jun 18, 2012

I have a block that I would like make dynamic.  It is a fishhook arrow for a roundabout traffic sign.  I would like to rotate the head to various angles, and have the body of the arrow adjust.  I already have the ability to stretch the two end points in their direction, and rotate the head, but the curved part of the arrow body needs to adjust for the new head location.  I tried dynamic stretch, but it would not attach to the rotate dimension.  How do I get these arcs to stretch along their radii and associate the end arc points to the near end of arrow head?

I had one thought of using multipe arcs so that they would overlap more or less as rotated, but this is a pretty crude workaround.

3ds Max Animation :: Rotate A Set Of Wheels Like Locomotive Train Wheel

Aug 20, 2011

I am trying to rotate a set of wheels that are moving like a locomotive train wheel and having problems. I was able to animate the wheels to move like a locomotive wheel by linking and turning off the z axis inherit for the red rod (see attached images. Image ex04.jpg.)

The problem came when it was time to rotate the whole thing. I grouped everything and rotated the wheels around as a group. As the red rod had is z axis inherit turned off once it started to detach from it location(ex06.jpg), which was kind of expected.

I am not sure what to do to solve this problem. Do i create a bone structure with IK handles to resolve this problem or is there something else better to solve this problem?

Mar 15, 2012

Voorstel spantenlijn.dwg

I have created a dynamic block. Herein I placed stretch actions parameter set to strecht parts including anotative text.

Now the block seems to work fine.

- When I am in modelspace and I change the annotation scale the text is changed correct

- When I am in modelspace and I change the stretch value of the dynamic block everything goes fine.

But when I am in modelspace and I change the stretch value in one of the annotiaton scales and then switch to another scale my text is changed annotativly (this is what I want) but the stretch value is set back to default (which should be at the changed value).

AutoCAD Inventor :: Revert Back To Standard Setup Or BOM Setup From Scratch?

Jun 7, 2013

In our drawing office we use Inventor in a mining materials handling environment.  Our output is mainly structural drawings where we require a bill of materials as part of creating a drawing.  Whenever I insert a BOM in the drawing environment I get this table which is labeled in a foreign language (it looks like an Eastern European language) and the format is not as per the standard Autodesk installation setup.

How do I either revert back to the standard setup or do a BOM setup from scratch?

We use IV 2013 Professional on Windows 7 64 bit.
