AutoCAD Inventor :: Add In A GOST Elbow 90deg A Few New Lines With Dimensions
Jan 20, 2012
Is there any opportunity to make changes in standard library in Autodesk Inventor 2010? For example I want to add in a GOST Elbow 90deg a few new lines with dimensions. The smallest Elbow is with DN40, and I need DN20 DN 25 DN 32.
Or Is there Just Two ways - to make my own Elbows, or copying standard Lab and then making changes?
How to make a Mitered Elbow from a cylinder this is driven by our Manufacture they would like to roll a sheet of metal and have a stitch cut within the rolled sheet so they can then just cut the additional amount of material between the stitches to get two identical mitered elbows from one piece of rolled sheet metal. Please see the attached doc. to see what I'm trying to do.

I have a custom elbow that has an angle of 89° in the tube and pipe author dialog but I cannot select it in the tube and pipe style in the "elbow custom" field where the filter properties are 45° to 90°. I can select it as the standard elbow though where the filter properties are 90° to 90°. This doesn't make any sense. All the other filter properties (grayed out) are the same. . IV2013
I'm looking to unfold the attached sheet metal elbow and am unable to do so. After modeling the part I was also unable to rip an opening to split the part. I opted to cut an opening with a profile, but I am still unable to unfold the part. The probelm is likely obvious and I believe it is because I used part splits to create the different sections.
How to draw this junction on the Shet metal Elbow that i have create, i am sending what i have made so far and the 2d of what i need. My version of the Inventor is 2013.
I have an elbow with a slit on the other side and would like to use Flatten feature in sheet metal. How do I do it? I tried but an error pops-up, what does it mean.
I would like to know how to draw segment elbow 90 degrees ( segments are not equal ) and create Flat Pattern for each of the segments - using sheetmetal in Autodesk Inventor?
I've just downloaded the latest AutoCAD for Mac and I'm trying to add a dimension to a 2d drawing. When I do so with the DIMLINEAR command by picking the start/end points then the distance away from the line, all I get is three lines, there are no arrow heads or text showing the distance. I looked at the properties inspector and arrow heads are enabled.
I have a problem in my ucs icon when i am drawing/rotating and dimensioning my drawing.. the ucs turns to have extra lines and even the dimensions has unnecessary lines. how am i suppose to fix this
Problems I'm having with hidden lines being visible in certain viewports and not others.I've dimensioned my drawings in model space, which I prefer, and put the dimensions on a separate layer. However, including that layer in the viewport causes the hidden lines to be visible when plotted. If I turn that layer off, everything works great.
I have dimensions for the same object in plan view that I'm showing in a different viewport that works just great, but in the front elevation viewport it gets all screwy.
I can dimension in paper space just fine.I prefer to dimension in model space whenever possible.
I have programs that at some point or another create dimensions for what was drawn. When you have a vertical dimension that doesn't fit between the extension lines, it will either go up and to the right or down and to the left.
I can change it manually by selecting the dimension and then right click and pick Dim Text position > Move with leader.
What I want to know is, is there a way to set the vertical dimension where you want it programatically? I would like to put the vertical dimension down and to the right of the arrows if possible.
How to scale drawing with dimension lines without changing dimensions in dimension lines? I got drawing with correct dimension lines but geometry is wrong.
I am using AutoCAD 2011. When I create a radius dimension on the inside of an arc, and I place the dimension beyond the center point of the arc, AutoCAD automatically draws an extension to the arc and points my radius dimension leader to the outside of this extension, rather than to the inside of the original arc.
I don't really like this. I prefer for my demension leader to point to the inside of the original arc. I can get exactly what I want by going into "Properties" for the radius dimension and turning the "Ext Line" property off.
Rather than having to do this every time, I'd like to create a dimension style that would give me this functionality all of the time. When I try to modify my dimension style, I see that there are just two parameters for Suppress Ext Line 1 and Suppress Ext Line 2. These seem to apply to both linear dimensions and radial dimensions. Is there anything I can do to suppress the extension line for radial dimensions only and not linear dimensions?
the image above is a piping layout with two 45 degrees elbows. i drew the side view, then the the top view
now one of the 45 degrees elbow is replaced by a 90 degrees elbow. i don't how to draw this because the 90 degrees elbow rotate 45 degrees from the horizon.
I know there is ipn file to create an exploded view. But if I have used a positional rep to create one. How can I automatically show the tweak lines or center lines on explode path

Is there any way to make 2 to sketch lines instead of floating lines so that I can dimension them?
For example, if I have a part that can change lengths and I need to print off a new drawing, it would be good if I could say that the lines were a set distance from each end of the part or some features of the part.
Then I could update the part length, then just open the part drawing and not have to adjust anything.
I am new to Inventor after using Unigraphics for a while and finding the modelling side very similar so no problems there. the problems are starting when i am producing drawings.
I am trying to manually break a dimension extension line around an inserted symbol ( surface finish symbol) and can't figure this out. I have noticed that Inventor automatically break dimensions round other dimensions but is there a way to add a manual break?
Also is there a way to break a center-line round dimension text? i have added a picture with the problem.
I was building some picture about a dummy using gym equipment (for example a leg extension) and I started with Daz studio pro; but working I understood I needed a software to build the equipments (there are only a few libraries) this is why I decided to use 3dsmax. Now i tried to import the dummy builted in Daz in 3ds, using the .obj export function.
the truble is: if I export the 3dsmax's design I creatd as .obj, I daz I can't see colours; if I import the dummy builted in Daz as .obj, in 3ds max I am not able to rotate joint (for example hip or elbow) because it removes the arm without rotating it (for example I would like to make the dummy held a rope).
I'm trying to make a FK arm with the ability to stretch in Max 2012, but as soon as I assign an orient constraint to the elbow, the stretch ability disappears.
The file consists of two bones, two spline controllers, and an expose transform. The upper arm bone is orient and position constrained to the shoulder controller spline. The exposed transform reports the distance between the elbow spline controller and the upper arm bone. The lower arm bone, has a "Float Script" on the X Position transform and it takes the distance reported in the exposed transform to adjust its position relative to the upper arm bone.
If I select bone_elbow and assign an orient constraint, the "Float Script" on the position stops working, but the rotation works.
(I'm trying to keep the controllers out of the heirarchy of the bones because our game engine will export them and I'm trying to avoid that)
