I just started using Photoshop CS3. I've found that when using it occasionally other application windows will stop refreshing properly, and will only sparatically update. Has anyone else encountered this? I'm on Xp Pro with 4GB and dual xeons.

View 3 Replies View RelatedMust have been something I installed earlier in the day or late last night because the way InDesign CC nows redraws the screen is painfully slow. It's true that an Upgrade has been applied this morning through the CreativeCloud panel? I'm on Windows 8.1 running 9.2 x64. This Dell XPS8700 machine has never disappointed. 16 gig of RAM, fast Nvidia video card, 7200 RPM hard drive. It's just zippy! But now, I don't know what could be wrong? I don't have other processes running in the background. I checked to make sure I have the latest drivers for my video card. I tried trashing the Prefs file. The only thing I have not tried is to restart the system?
Other than that, I suppose it's always possible to uninstall and re-install InDesign CC?
How do I get the screen to refresh properly when drawing a line larger than the art board when the screen scrolls? Everything turns white in CS6, CS5 and CS4.

Trying to use the builtin screen capture tools under Utilities/Screen capture.
There appears to be no way to do a selected capture or partial selection of parts of a window. Instead we have:
Full screen []
active window []
content of active window [x]
So I selected the last one above as shown `Content of Active Window'
But what I actually get is a mini version of the entire Designer pro 7 application Including the menus, borders, and all that guff that no one usually wants in a capture of part of the full screen.
So what does `Content of active window' mean as apposed to `Active window'?
Its really unbelievable that there is no provision like `Region' found in most screen grab tools where you select with the mouse what you want captured.
Maybe I'm just missing how to use this thing, but have included the result of what a `content of active window' does. Its a mini version of the entire application...
I upgraded from LR2 to 3 a while ago, and recently, I've had an odd problem opening my lightly edited files into CS4. I just do command E on my mac, and they open right into CS4. When the image(s) open, they almost seem completely desaturated? I shoot a nikon D700, raw, copy the NEF files into LR3 upon import, do light edits in LR (white balance, recovery, tone curve, some adjustment brush...) and then will open selected files into CS4 for futher tweaking. Why these images are doing this? If I go back into lightroom and "reset all settings" and then open, the images open fine.

When I use the web uploading feature to upload to a web gallery, a window pops up 90% through the upload saying 'an error occurred sending the file : an unknown error occurred.

It is gorgeous that one can preserve the text size, hatch size, dimension size, etc. regardless the scale the drawing is going to be printed with.
For example, if the text size, hatch size, dimension size, etc. are proper as the drawing is printed with a scale of 1:100 then how about printing this drawing with a scale of 1/50 and 1/200?
A scale of 1:50 looks fine (attached)
A scale of 1:200 has some overlaps! (attached)
Then how to get a nice drawing (dimension size, text size, hatch size) when printing the drawing with a scale of 1/200? In other words, how the annotation objects can be adjusted proportionally such that no overlaps and distortion is occurred?

How do I prevent PSE 9 from creating and displaying multiple copies of a given slide ? I have not asked for or made copies yet I often find multiple copies of a given slide, sometimes as many as 20 or 30. It's very annoying when trying to edit slides.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI was taking screen dumps of images from Xara3D and pasting them into Xara Xtreme Pro 4, and noticed that the pasted images at 100% are larger than the original screens! I have to set the Xara zoom to 80% to get the correct size. I have never noticed this before, but usually use two monitors so the size comparison never registered.
Have I changed a setting somewhere in Xara Xtreme regarding pixel size somewhere?

I'm here with 2013 SP2 64 bit Build 200 and two screens. Left screen is graphics area, Browser is on the left of right screen. Graphics is ATI Fire Pro V7800 with driver 9.3.3.3000.
In video (zipped MP4) you see a cutout of both screens, think of screens changing at the left of the browser.
Now, in many cases, after doing an operation, the browser is jumping back to the middle of my graphics in the left screen.

Installed CS4, all went well.
When I try and use CS4 the screen does seem to update.
For example. Have an image open..... Grad tool.....
Now the grad doesnt show, until i click on say enlarge or another tool.
Same for everything I do, I have to click on a tool or enlarge to get the screen to update.
will not refresh the image until I move it or go to another viewer and back. The layers panel refreshes for example but when you turn off layer visability on a given layer or make a change to a layer that change doesn't show in the image pane - until you move the pane or leave the pane and then reselect it.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am having issues with my Photoshop CS5, for some reason if I make any changes to my PSD they don't display straight away as normal, I have been having to zoom in/out of the PSD to force the changes to appear, whether its adding/editing text or images, just anything won't show straight away like it used to. I haven't added any plugins that I know of, it's pretty stock standard version 12.0.4 x64 and I assumed it maybe graphic card related so just updated to the latest drivers with no luck so i'm lost..

Problem - data sets are not refreshed when contents of the data file are changed, despite clicking "Apply Data Set".
The latest updates are installed, running on Windows 7 Professional, 64-bit, plenty of RAM and available storage. This has never worked before and appears to be a bug in the software. I’ve gone so far as to close PS and even rebooted between steps 4 and 5, same problem. Here's how to recreate it:
1. Create a psd, define variables (I've tried both text and graphic layers)
2. Assign csv file as "Data Set", save the psd
3. Run export, close psd
4. Chage data in csv that was defined as Data Set, save and close csv file
5. Re-open same psd
6. Click "Apply Data Set" - nothing happens
Data is NOT refreshed regardless of whether Data Set 1 or “All data sets” is selected. The only thing that seems to work is to open the PSD and redefine the exact same file as the data set again, then batch export. Because I'd be dealing with volumes of psd files that use volumes of Data Set files that change daily, this isn't feasible.
Defining (or redefining the same file) cannot be recorded in batch mode, nor through the listener (tried previous version just to see).

View 2 Replies View Related I'm experiencing strange layer comps behaviors since Photoshop 13.0.2 update, on an existing .psd file. If some comps are correctly rendered, some others are not refreshed: layers visibility is not updated, workspace seems to be frozen, using for instance the magnifier tool to zoom in/out renders a completely white workspace, and moving then my mouse pointer above it only refreshes its lower half part (a little bit more actually). Moreover, Photoshop CPU consumption becomes quite high as long as I stay on such composition (around 50% CPU instead of 2% compared to working comps).
I've tried to disable GPU from Photoshop preferences, Machine is a mid-2010 17" MBP w/ i7@2.66. No problem with the same .psd file before upgrading to 13.0.2..
Just started with CDRX6 (Upgrade) and find a frustrating feature with text in text frames. If you import text into a frame and then move the position of the frame in the layout, the text repositions in a waterfall motion within the frame. It takes a second or two to settle down, and the frame also jumps position somewhere else en route before reaching the point you are dragging it to. It can be moved more smoothly using the arrow keys, but that is painfully slow.
I do not have this problem with X5. Is it a symptom of some new feature in X6, or is it a fault in installation?
I use external/linked images because the file is multipaged and as I am working continuously on it every "Save" command takes less time.
Every image is there on HDD in the same folder as CDR-file. Today I opened this file and the images look very bad - one couldn't see what is pictured there. The question is how to refresh them? I don't see such an option.

My code mirrors a selection by either the x-axis or the y-axis. It is working fine. Except, the drawing shows the result, when I move my cursor to the active dwg.

When I start AutoCad and also if I try to select the Refresh icon on the Pallett, I get a pop up that says "There was an error while refreshing. The palette could not be refreshed" Could there be a path that is broken, if so where would it be?

I made a simple Windows.Form in which are check boxes (on for each layer of the CAD drawing).
Just to set the visibility of each layer. Everything is working fine, but I have a little problem with refreshing a drawing.
Changes of visibility settings are applied after a form is closed.
I need the drawing to be refreshed after every check box check change.
