View 2 RepliesI just downloaded the trial version of paintshop pro x4. It worked for a while but the opacity sliders were extremely slow to respond. I thought this was my main problem but now every time I open the program it takes me to the register screen. When I register the screen goes white and nothing happens. If I close it the whole program closes. I have three emails confirm me for registering so I don't know why the screen pops up anymore... I was very happy to have more 16bit capabilities.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI completely reinstalled GIMP 2.8 and put Andrew's Script (found here: URL....) into "C/USER/ADMIN/GIMP 2.8/SCRIPTS" (I'm stuck with Windows Vista Home Premium) running on an Acer laptop. Now the "Opacity" and "Brush Size" sliders have shown up where they're supposed to have been on the first install.
My middle mouse wheel used to control brush size - I recently reinstalled my updated Logitech mouse drivers and I'll bet if I go to "Setpoint" in my system tray, I'll be able to configure the mouse wheel from there. That's where I had to go in order to fix the tilt control in Google Earth after I updated the mouse drivers.
I just installed GIMP 2.8, with Andrew's GIMP Script FU and now I can't find the brush opacity slider anywhere (EDIT: Or the brush/eraser/pencil etc SIZE slider - there also appears to be no way to set my middle mouse wheel as the controller for the brush size). I've used GIMP for awhile and I know how to move around but I'm not very good with it.
when I exercise the opacity slider for an active layer I can see the full range of opacity follow the setting. Somehow I've gotten this v2.6 on a Linux box into a mode where the visible opacity doesn't follow the slider full range. Instead it is all or nothing. At 50% or less opacity the layer is entirely transparent and at 50.1% or more it is entirely opaque.

In PSP X4 when I go to adjust the opacity of a raster layer using the opacity slider on the layer palette toolbar. I click on it and I can't use the arrow keys to adjust the value. My arrow keys have no effect on the opacity slider at all. how I can get it working? It has never worked for me in PSP X4.

If you import text into a frame and then move the position of the frame in the layout, the text repositions in a waterfall motion within the frame. It takes a second or two to settle down, and the frame also jumps position somewhere else en route before reaching the point you are dragging it to. It can be moved more smoothly using the arrow keys, but that is painfully slow.
I do not have this problem with X5. Is it a symptom of some new feature in X6, or is it a fault in installation?
Must have been something I installed earlier in the day or late last night because the way InDesign CC nows redraws the screen is painfully slow. It's true that an Upgrade has been applied this morning through the CreativeCloud panel? I'm on Windows 8.1 running 9.2 x64. This Dell XPS8700 machine has never disappointed. 16 gig of RAM, fast Nvidia video card, 7200 RPM hard drive. It's just zippy! But now, I don't know what could be wrong? I don't have other processes running in the background. I checked to make sure I have the latest drivers for my video card. I tried trashing the Prefs file. The only thing I have not tried is to restart the system?
Other than that, I suppose it's always possible to uninstall and re-install InDesign CC?

View 3 Replies View RelatedFor some reason when I scrub through my animation, it runs really slow. And it has nothing to do with my computer itself. It is the particular file. I tested this by opening up one of my others (i saved in iterations) and they all scrub just fine. All I was doing was animating with a rig, so there isnt any extra polygons or whatever. And on top of that, it worked just fine before I exited the program earlier, I even playblasted it and everything, and then I looked at the playblast later and decided I wanted to change something, reopened the file, and the timeline has been chugging ever since. I tried opening and closing maya already.

View 9 Replies View RelatedIt does it every 4-6 times which is really really often since you brush about 10 times every 3 seconds or so when digital painting especially when shading, lighting, blending, etc with brushing.
Why does it do this? I cant recall when it started doing this but I think it was either when I updated from CS4 to CS6 or maybe it just randomly kicked in. I already updated my drivers and re-installed my tablet.
In the animation I am working on, I need an object to instantly go from 100% opacity to 0% opacity. The problem is, even if you use the opacity of the layer as a keyframe, the object will not instanlty vanish, even if it is only on for the timeruler for a quick amount of time.
I need a tool that will drop from 100% opacity to 0% instantly.

Installed CS4, all went well.
When I try and use CS4 the screen does seem to update.
For example. Have an image open..... Grad tool.....
Now the grad doesnt show, until i click on say enlarge or another tool.
Same for everything I do, I have to click on a tool or enlarge to get the screen to update.
will not refresh the image until I move it or go to another viewer and back. The layers panel refreshes for example but when you turn off layer visability on a given layer or make a change to a layer that change doesn't show in the image pane - until you move the pane or leave the pane and then reselect it.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am having issues with my Photoshop CS5, for some reason if I make any changes to my PSD they don't display straight away as normal, I have been having to zoom in/out of the PSD to force the changes to appear, whether its adding/editing text or images, just anything won't show straight away like it used to. I haven't added any plugins that I know of, it's pretty stock standard version 12.0.4 x64 and I assumed it maybe graphic card related so just updated to the latest drivers with no luck so i'm lost..

Problem - data sets are not refreshed when contents of the data file are changed, despite clicking "Apply Data Set".
The latest updates are installed, running on Windows 7 Professional, 64-bit, plenty of RAM and available storage. This has never worked before and appears to be a bug in the software. I’ve gone so far as to close PS and even rebooted between steps 4 and 5, same problem. Here's how to recreate it:
1. Create a psd, define variables (I've tried both text and graphic layers)
2. Assign csv file as "Data Set", save the psd
3. Run export, close psd
4. Chage data in csv that was defined as Data Set, save and close csv file
5. Re-open same psd
6. Click "Apply Data Set" - nothing happens
Data is NOT refreshed regardless of whether Data Set 1 or “All data sets” is selected. The only thing that seems to work is to open the PSD and redefine the exact same file as the data set again, then batch export. Because I'd be dealing with volumes of psd files that use volumes of Data Set files that change daily, this isn't feasible.
Defining (or redefining the same file) cannot be recorded in batch mode, nor through the listener (tried previous version just to see).
I'm experiencing strange layer comps behaviors since Photoshop 13.0.2 update, on an existing .psd file. If some comps are correctly rendered, some others are not refreshed: layers visibility is not updated, workspace seems to be frozen, using for instance the magnifier tool to zoom in/out renders a completely white workspace, and moving then my mouse pointer above it only refreshes its lower half part (a little bit more actually). Moreover, Photoshop CPU consumption becomes quite high as long as I stay on such composition (around 50% CPU instead of 2% compared to working comps).
I've tried to disable GPU from Photoshop preferences, Machine is a mid-2010 17" MBP w/ i7@2.66. No problem with the same .psd file before upgrading to 13.0.2..
I made some basic adjustments in Lightroom and then opened the image as a smart object in Photoshop. If I decide to make more changes in Lightroom how do I tell Photoshop to 'refresh' the underlying image?
View 11 Replies View RelatedI'm running Elements 11 on Windows 7. My photo album was initially in Picasa but we imported all the photos (e.g. 13,000+) into Lightroom 4 and Elements 11.
Lightroom correctly imported all the files (including all images in the .picassa orignals sub-folder), while Elements only imported a subset of the files.
Elements didn't import any images in the .picassa original folder, and also omitted many folders as well as the contents of some folders.
Is there a file watcher 'refresh' that will reimport all the images? I suppose I could delete the 'watched' folder from the file watcher and then re-initiate the add.However, since I don't know why files and folder were missed in the first place, I'd like to understand my options.
i have lets say 10 .psd's that contain smart objects. I want to ask you, is it there any script for Photshop CS6, that can open all .psd files and refresh all smart objects? (simillar to the Image Processor Script that exports .jpgs)

Every time I step-backwards, or make a significant change to the bump texture (smart object?), CC auto-saves the layer. This specific file is a very very large document (3 gigs in the bump texture layer alone), and the 3D layer has lots of lights and is very complex.
This auto-refresh/update really bogs down the time that it would take me to make my changes. I have a very fast machine (I know it's fast, I dont need to list my specs), and I have all shadows disabled.
How do I disable linked smart-object auto-update/refresh?

I want gif, jegp etc. I have just realize that when I created a new documents I might put it in the grayscale mode only.What do you think about it guys I want to be able to apply boders and save it in gif, jepg and other common format

Is there any plug in or can one make me a plug in where we can have more than one color slider dialog box? I hope to have two more more color sliders and open the curves and then click on more than one color like one color slider for the flesh tone and another color slider for a gray area. Its like the multiple eyedropper but instead of using the info box, it uses the color slider in real time.
