View 3 RepliesI experimented with slow motion of a water fall video clip from Letchworth State Park of New York where we visited recently. The original clip is 1080p24fps. I used virtualdub, avisynth, mvtools method to change the video clip from 24fps to 96fps, and 144fps. This method smoothly builds additional frames between each of the 24fps appropriately and the method works great to create smooth slow motion that plays in VLC slowing the 96 and 144 clips fluidly slow. Inserting the three clips into VS works fine and play normally. Selecting the inserted 96fps clip, and slowing it by 25% plays jerky, and renders as 1080p24fps the same way. Same situation with the 144fps clip. I played with all the parameters: frame and % and I could not make VS X4 play the clips smoothly. I am hoping I don't understand how to use this new Time lapse/Speed feature. BTW, I also own Premiere Pro, and it does the slow down of these clips perfectly. EDIT: I just tried Microsoft Movie Maker that comes free from Microsoft, and it does the slow down correctly. I am thinking this is a problem with VS X4

View 6 Replies View RelatedUsing Videostudio Pro X5. Captured video using GoPro at 240fps. Video imports fine. I want to edit the video in slow motion. I'm using the "speed/time lapse" option - I set the speed at "25%".
However the outcome is that the video is choppy as if it's throwing away frames. At this setting I should be getting decent smooth frame rates but this is not the case. I'm looking to end up with at least 25-30 fps.
I'm editing a music video, when apply time warp a one shot for example 25% for slow motion , the shot repeat the last frame, 4 frames.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've been working the last 6 months with 4 GH2s and ran into some strange troubles when initially importing them to the timeline. 2 hour shots are divided into 6 or 7 different files, and when brought into PP the first clips audio was assigned to all the other remaining clips. This was pretty strange, but I fixed it by using TSmuxer. It was added time in the workflow/set up, but in the end I could produce;Â
The latest update of PPCC now combines the entire 2 hours of footage into each of the 7 files being imported. So it is importing 2 hours of footage 7 times for each camera. The conforming is taking forever! For 4 cameras it's conforming 14 hours of footage each, when it should literally be a 7th of that.

The video clip in V1 has a reverse speed change applied, and the timecode filter is off by one frame. Or maybe the source overlay is off by one frame? Which should I trust?
Since quite some time I have been succesfully uploading FullHD (AVCHD 1920x1080 50i) movies on YT. Some weeks ago I got a strange playback problem with my last uploads: video's are played in (very smooth!) slow motion mode at some resolution settings. The same Divx video's on the contrary always playback OK In order to illustrate the YT playback speed problems I uploaded two times the same 10sec video. The first video has been rendered as a fullHD AVCHD video in VSX4 (never got problems in the past with similar video’s), the second is a fullHD DviX version of that same video (from another converter). The lower resolution settings in the AVCHD video slow down while the 720 and 1080 settings run OK [URL]

View 2 Replies View RelatedI just downloaded the trial version of paintshop pro x4. It worked for a while but the opacity sliders were extremely slow to respond. I thought this was my main problem but now every time I open the program it takes me to the register screen. When I register the screen goes white and nothing happens. If I close it the whole program closes. I have three emails confirm me for registering so I don't know why the screen pops up anymore... I was very happy to have more 16bit capabilities.
View 6 Replies View RelatedFor some reason when I scrub through my animation, it runs really slow. And it has nothing to do with my computer itself. It is the particular file. I tested this by opening up one of my others (i saved in iterations) and they all scrub just fine. All I was doing was animating with a rig, so there isnt any extra polygons or whatever. And on top of that, it worked just fine before I exited the program earlier, I even playblasted it and everything, and then I looked at the playblast later and decided I wanted to change something, reopened the file, and the timeline has been chugging ever since. I tried opening and closing maya already.

I am a user of VS X4 Pro but I have not used it for a long time until now...
When I loaded a video from my camera into the library and from there into the timeline I got a problem. When editing in clip-mode the clip appears in slow motion with a noisy sound! When running in Project-mode the clips appear OK. When rendering the result is OK but it is difficult not to work normally in clip-mode.
What can be the problem? Have I changed by mistake any parameter in preferences? I can´t remember that I have had those problems before...
When I switch the display mode from "Wireframe" to "Realistic" or "Shaded" a strange thing happens.Whenever I make a change (say, position, size or color), the change can't be seen in real time. I have to use my middle button to either zoom or move my point of view, and then the viewport snaps to the change I made.

Also, when I change the color of the object, it takes very long (and in a fade in way) to turn to the desired color. Here again, I have to move around the object to see the real change take effect.How do I fix this so that I see the changes in real time?
Just as the headline says. I shot a wedding and accidently forgot to change the frame rate (Sony AVCHD, if it matters). I need the clip to get to 24fps without using slow motion (I need it to look real time) and I need the audio from the clip as well. So, clearly going to Interpret Footage>Frame Rate won't work because the audio and film slow down. Even unganging it as instructed by Adobe in the manual doesn't work quite right.

(although 4 was just fine besides this file issue) Then i discover that 5 does not support this raw file type yet, so i download 5.3. Program seems to be working fine, not unusually slow, but the import speed for the files is excessivly slow. Im clocking it at around 1 minute per photo based on 24 minutes for 26 photos. This problem is not with the larger file size from the new camera. I tried importing some RAW files from a D7000 and the time was only slightly faster. This problem is with Lightroom 5.3 importing.

I have recorded at 50p in full HD. In Video Studio I have slowed the clips down to 25%, and when I do a preview in the editor, it looks fantastic. However when I render to a MP4 file it looks terrible. You can see every frame.
How do I render and get at least the same quality as I get in the preview window?

I have an animation of a wine glass breaking. I simulated it using mass FX and particle flow. I will import it to After Effects, add finishing touches and render out a super slow mo clip like you would see on Discovery HD or Time Warp. In essence, I want it to look like it was shot on a high speed camera.
I tried a test render out of max at 960 fps and importing into AE at 25fps but the results aren't quite white I want.
My question is, what frame rate do I render the animation out inside 3ds max and what frame rate do I import/interpret it in After Effects?
With regard to PS CS6: I'm specifically interested in CS6's ability to utilize video memory to make PS faster, more powerful; but will I notice a difference in speed/performance with only 512MB video RAM? Currently running PS CS5 on an iMac (Duo-Core, 8GB RAM, 512MB Video RAM).

Was hoping Apple was going to release new Mac Pro (been saving dough for a few years now). Since that didn't happen, sticking with current Mac setup for at least another year, and this includes a video card that only has 512MB memory.

I'm near completion of a year long video project. I inserted several HD video clips into my VS X4 time line which includes many other HD/SD and .jpg clips along with transitions, music, etc. For effect, I used the tool in VS to speed up two or three of these clips by about 300%. Without the effect, the scene doesn't work so I'd like to keep it this way.
I noticed that when playing the clip in the time line after the effect is added, it plays very jumpy and jerky. Without the effect it plays fine as do all the other clips in my project. I am guessing the effect puts a strain on the system but mostly, my system is fine. However, the hard drive may be the culprit and not able to get the data fast enough to provide a smooth video. Is that possible? My cpu (core 2 quad Q6600 clocked to 3.0 g), new video card, memory, and monitor (HD certified) are all new and well within spec.
My question: Do you think the stuttering video will also be present in the final burn of a Blu-Ray? Or is this just a function of the preview window?
